I remembered to take my Bumble Berry Cool Racerback with me to the store this weekend to compare to Berry Rumble. Before seeing them side by I thought the two colors were pretty close but it was surprising to find out the colors are nearly identical if not identical. I took these photos in the dressing room but I doubt anything would look much different in sunlight.

Wow, they look identical to me. Love them both. OT, has anyone purchased the Face the Frost half zip? I was wondering how warm it is compared to Rulu, and also if the fabric pills. Luluaddict, I tried searching for it on your site but I think your search feature might not be working? Thanks for any info about Face the Frost!

Tech fleece tops are going to be warmer than rulu or even pique. The big reason is because they stop the wind. If you are sitting at home and feel chilled then a pique top is a good choice but if you are going to be outside then a tech fleece top is warmer. If I want to stop the wind I always layer with a brushed luxtreme or tech fleece piece.
I haven't take the tags off my Face the Frost yet but I have a Flurry Fighter tech fleece pullover from last year than I've worn a bit and don't have any pilling on that.
9:18 Tech fleece is very warm and like LLA says it blocks wind. I have the face the frost, and I really like it, it is very well made and I think it will be a great winter staple for me. I am thinking of getting another one. I am 5'-3" 120# and quite busty 34DD and I purchased the size 4. I like my run gear to be snug.
Thanks for the color comparison! I saw rumble berry in the store earlier today, and thought the two colors looked close, but they are identical! This is a good thing because I have a few things in solid bumble berry, so I can pretty much pass on rumble berry unless there's a design that really catches my eye.
Thank you sooooo much for the comparison! Helps so much to know that my bumble berry haul from last year will cooridinate fine with this year's pieces. I'm now confident that last year's crb will work with the pigment wind printed WU's and energy exhale bra I ordered (still waiting on the east coast!). Since I'm not crazy about the mesh crb, and berry rumble isn't different enough to justify, im a happy camper!
Hello Anon 9:18am, I recently purchased the Face the Frost 1/2 zip in tender violet and absolutely love it!! The colour is so beautifuI. I stayed tts and find it fits a little snug in the arms for me, but I have muscular arms so i usually expect that from any lulu top. I can fit a tank or a l/s (or s/s) swiftly under it comfortably. I'd say it's a comfortably snug tts, but not a tight fit. Warmer than rulu, and while i find tech fleece does cut the wind some, it is still not windproof, but a layer underneath does help. No pilling so far (fingers crossed!) My flurry fighter from last year feels like the same type of tech fleece and it does have pilling. I love the cuffins, the soft high collar, and the roomy zip pocket on the Face the Frost 1/2 Zip, happy to say lulu got it right with this piece :) Hope that helps :)
I bought it. It is warmer than rulu. I haven't had any pulling. I wore it once with my dogs on a waist belt and it didn't pill under the belt either. I have only washed it once and worn it 3 times. All about 20-25 degrees F. I'd layer rulu under a jacket this would be pretty warm under a jacket unless it was just a shell. The neck is so soft and cozy. That was the selling point for me and cuffins. I love cuffins
@dogrunner - the turtleneck sold me on the top, too. Agree about the cuffins, too. I like my Flurry Fighter a lot but the loose neck and lack of cuffins were two strikes against it. It's more of a lounge/apres piece to me. If I want to be truly warm and lock out all the wind I am looking for a t-neck and cuffins on my pullovers.
Berry rumble fluffed off jacket is bluer toned than my bumbleberry CRB. Though I do get that different materials will reflect slight shade differences.

Hi LLA, anon 3:07 here. My flurry fighter has pilling around just the left side of the waist, just above my hip and I can't figure out where it's from! I must have rubbed up against something on that side, but don't know what :(. Guess I'll have to take a fabric shaver to it, as I do love it., but I too wish it had cuffins and a slightly narrower neck. The FTF 1/2 zip is fabulous IMO. Thank you for your fabulous blog!

I'm wondering if there was some sort of copyright issue and that is why Bumble Berry is now Berry Rumble.
