Ooh! Love bark berry paired with wine berry! I have a scuba 2 in that color from the spring and I think I want to get wine berry bottoms to pair with it.

LLA- why is there a $10 difference between the Scuba Hoodie II and Scuba Hoodie III? Are we being charged for the extra material it takes to make the Scuba Hoodie III a relaxed fit?

I really want the Bark Berry color for my collection, but $108 is steep enough for essentially a sweatshirt. Now they want $118?

End rant.........

@Deezee007 - I don't see a big enough difference between the two to justify the extra $10 other than the III is the "new" version.

@Deezee007
I believe you are partially correct. The fabric utilization is definitely greater on the scuba III due to wider body and slightly longer length. Fabric is the biggest cost factor. In addition, I notice that all the colors in the fleece versions of scuba II are heathered. Heathered yarns carry a premium. Based on my apparel production experience, I would say this is legitimate.

That bark berry Scuba looks amazing on her!

@ anon 3:43 pm - I think the fabric in the Scuba III is a bit thinner than the Scuba II, does that factor into the price? I wish they had solid colors in the Scuba III. I love when the colors are richly saturated and you don't get that in the heathered versions.

@MichelleLu - it does! I think it would totally wash me out.

3:43pm here...Meant to refer to the scuba III (not scuba II) heathered colors in my post above.

LLA good point. yes, the weight of fabric directly affects the cost. Wish I cld do a punch test to get the weight. You've inspired me to take a closer look when I go in the store next to feel and compare. I only have the scuba II.

BTW, your photos of the new static define with the bon bon inner collar and the heathered dark fuel swiftly inspired me to buy both tdy. The woman in the define looked great wearing it. LOVE both!

The bark berry Scuba is gorgeous. This model pairs colors beautifully. I'm glad you don't have her on all the time, I'd have to buy everything.

Anon 3:43 - The Scuba III may have a bit more fabric used to make it a slightly more relaxed and slightly longer fit, though not that much difference in my opinion, and that fabric is quite a bit thinner and to me seems not as nice quality as the Scuba II. The Scuba III fabric feels more like the fleece you get on generic cheaper quality sweatshirts and hoodies, and Scuba II fabric feels like the quality you get on top quality higher priced sweatshirts and hoodies. Also, the Scuba II has more detail than the Scuba III... it has a much nicer and better detailed embroidered Lulu emblem on the hood, and the added fabric that covers the stitched curved Lulu logo on the front of the hoodie on each side of the zipper and around the pockets (these two things alone would cost more to make and are also much more difficult for the workers to make, therefore should cost more, not less, than the Scuba III for that reason alone). Also, there are more heathered Scuba IIs than non heathered... So, I do not agree with your hypothesis that the reason the Scuba III costs more because heathered fabric costs more. I think the biggest reason it costs more is simply because Lulu jumped at the chance to raise the price when introducing a new and updated item.

Bark Berry & Wine Berry pix look soo amazing!!! Just not for me. But so jealous of those who can pull it off.

It is gorgeous photography with the woman wearing the bark berry scuba.

Anon 10:23 totally agree with you!

Do you mean based on your experience as an Ed who is inundated with corporate Lululemon explanations? Get out of here that fabric is not silk and is not worth the extra $10.

Well that girl definitely sold me on the bark berry Scuba, I looked at these photos last night and couldn't get that darn scuba off my mind. Headed to my store right after work today, hoping that, in person, I would hate it (I already own too many scubas), but gosh darn it, it's even BETTER in person. When I got home I had some fun pairing it with various colors and it definitely complements inkwell, naval blue, deep zinfandel, Bordeaux drama and looks awesome with jeans of all washes. If these are your speed of colors, I definitely recommend the bark berry, even if it's not a color you would normally go for, seriously, you will love it.

I'm always confused when people gripe about the price increases. I get that we all want to pay as little as possible, but pricing is dictated by supply and demand, and sometimes you gotta just wait until Lulu realizes that they priced an item too high. Items that sit around too long at the original price go to WMTM. Other items, like the Fleecy Keen, seem to never make it to WMTM; they are priced right to begin with. If we don't think an item is worth it, we won't pay that price. I haven't been happy about some of the Wunder Under price increases like $10 extra for prints and high rise, so I just wait and check WMTM and every pair I've wanted has ended up on WMTM for $69. Ironically, I would have bought them for $79, but instead Lulu wanted to be greedy and charge $99. They lose $10 on that transaction each time, and they have to wait 2 extra months before they can get my money. I'm sure that there are thousands of others like me who take this approach, and Lulu is losing out on a ton of extra income and working capital. But that is for them to figure out. In the meantime, I'll just wait to get my items on markdown.

Not to be rude, but if that is the case then there are a lot of people buying Lulu with far more money than brains - this stuff is just not worth the price they are charging.

the wine berry tights... amazing (but only on the model). she has an unbelievable body, thigh gap and is one of the precious few who can pull it off. as for the rest of us, stay clear!
