I bought my Lucky LS back in spring in black and in white - was odd to buy LS going into warmer weather - I can see pulling them out now to wear them - they are very pretty! Fit TTS - so it is a tiny bit flowy.
I like the Boolux Henley, but the price is too high. If it ever goes to WMTM, the price will be only slightly reduced, and it will be still not worth it. I would perhaps consider the Mink Berry Sunshine coast LS, but it is too see-through. If I can't wear it to work, I'm not going to buy it -it is just too limited as a gym cover up. I already own a Universal Wrap and a Stressless hoodie, also Define, Bhakti, etc. jackets. I also have a prodigious amount of Lulu tights, crops and tops. Somehow I see the new price increases, the impracticality of a lot of new items and the repeated styles as the end of the road and the end of my addiction. There was a period in my life when I thought I "need" new Lulu things all the time in new colours and patterns, and they would make me happy. I'm still reading this blog out of habit, but nothing really excites me anymore. (Yes, my husband is also dancing happily in the background!) I will try Kit and Ace the next time I go to downtown Toronto.
@ 6:36 pm - the repetition of a bunch of "meh" styles - Stress Less Hoodie, I am looking at you - to boot. It'd be different if they were updating some of the cute and functional things from ~2009-ish. I do like the new Pace Rival crops a lot so I can see growing a small collection of those, although I am already up to three pairs so don't really "need" many more. I've been waiting for the re-vamping of the tank wall but I can't remember if that was to come before or after the Pant Wall redo. The run jacket situation has been pretty lame for a long while now. Like you, I have a ton of lululemon and the price increases and, even worse, the terrible photos just piss me off, so I can afford to be very picky. I do like the new Sunset Salutation and if lululemon starts coming out with more cute rulu tops I'll probably get some of those but I bought a ton of pique and herringbone last fall so can't imagine I'd collect too much more of it this fall/winter.
I'm feeling the same way. In fact, I thought my collection was too big and I'd made a small pile of things to sell off. They were things I like, but don't reach for. BUT with the price increases, bad photos, repeats of stuff and the newer meh styles lately, I decided to just keep everything. I put it all back in my closet. I might as well keep stuff I like and try to create new outfit combos, instead of paying higher prices for stuff I don't like that much. All these Lulu antics have definitely curbed my old buying habits-- "Oh, gotta have that pattern/color...maybe I'll sell the one I have, so I can get the new one that is slightly different" or "That's kind of cute, I'll get it and decide later (most likely keeping it because I was too lazy to drive to the store and it was okay)."
Now, I'm super picky. I used to buy multiple items each week. Currently, I'm buying maybe 2-3 things a month, usually off of WMTM or at the outlet. I guess all the crap they've been up to lately make me just be over it all. The random huge price hikes pushed me over the line. For the first time in about 4 years, I didn't check the upload when it went live. In fact, I didn't even bother to check it until today and I only mildly cared about it. Feels weird. I used to always carry my ipad with me, so I could check the upload...even at Disneyland.
WEBSITE BANNERS FINALLY CHANGED!
I only developed a Lulu "addiction" within the last year, so I'm undoubtedly buying more things than I would had I followed the brand for years. But even in the relatively small collection I have, I can see where some things have fallen short and I'm learning to develop a more discerning eye. But...I'm a work in progress!
In spite of the price, I did order that henley in BD because I just couldn't resist it. It should arrive today - will have to see if it comes anywhere close to living up to the price tag.
I am bored with Lululemon. Some of the tops (stress less) look and are made like things I have from Target that cost me $15. The prints these days are cheap-looking and the prices are ridiculous. I bought a cute pair of running tights last week from Sweaty Betty that were only $80-something with a promo code. I feel like the LLL prices are so insane at this point that it is embarrassing to wear the brand. Do I really want to be someone who pays $118 for a hoodie? The clothes used to be awesome enough that week after week I answered "yes!" - but these days nothing is compelling enough and I easily walk away.
I agree with you LLA and 6:36. The rulu tops are the only thing that catches my eyes lately. The one thing I need more of is the run stuff your bra not sure why it is not offered in the US.

I love my Lucky LS. I think the fabric is a bit different on the newly released style. It felt a little stiffer then the one I bought earlier this year. Still very pretty and flowy.
Agree with many of the early comments above. I'm losing my addiction and I couldn't be happier! When at the mall the other day I was more excited to go in Athleta than Lulu. Granted I still went to lulu which was more crowded, but I felt like an outsider in an arena with a bunch of sheep. Not to be overly dramatic, but there is definitely a different vibe in Athleta and I like it better. And I like the fact that they have more casual offerings that are not as trendy and ridiculous looking. I have only bought two crbs full price in the last three to four months. I buy mostly from WMTM as the prices are ridiculous.
OMG! Most of you are stating my sentiments exactly! My addiction is finally over. Yes there was a time when lulu put out so many cute things with fabulous workmanship all at once that I wanted almost everything:) Now they are coming out with so many useless pieces of clothing! Such a throw away society:( And those prices!!! My husband is completely happy that I'm no longer buying "the brand!" I have so much lulu to do me twenty years over!
I still read your blog though LLA :)
I hope the US gets Lucky LS soon. I will definitely be purchasing. I want a henley as well but price is holding me back.
I understand why the Stress Less Hoodie isn't getting much love, but I ordered one yesterday because it's completely my style - simple, comfortable, and casual. My concern is this: I ordered it at about 1pm yesterday, and all 3 colors were available in the full size run. Now, not even 24 hours later, the navy and grey are only available in size 2, but bordeaux is still available in all sizes.... that signals to me there's possibly an issue with the navy and grey (I ordered the grey size 10). Call me crazy, but I don't believe everyone size 4-12 suddenly felt compelled to get a $100 navy or grey plain looking hoodie. What's the deal???
6:13 I have also been buying from Sweaty Betty. I just got a reflective run tank a head band and some awesome panties and they took 25% off my purchase. LuLu isn't cutting it for me lately.

sorry if dumb question, is the drop it like it's hot pant new? is it hi/low waist... looks great on model in pic.
@ anon 10:05 am - Yes, it is new.
@ anon 5:12 pm - I definitely like the look of Athleta stuff better but I don't care for most of their fabrics and the fit often doesn't work for me.
I don't get why we're getting a bunch of the same old black and gray herringbone and coco pique that we already got last year. Make some colored herringbones and pique for us.
I have to jump on this bandwagon--only because I too think I am done with lulu. So odd because I have lived, slept and breathed lulu since 2010. For me it's not even the price increases--though I don't think they're warranted when the quality is still kinda suspect. For me, it's the blah styles. The colors are all repeats--and recently used repeats at that. I used to buy at least one thing, if not several things every week. I never have been a fan of WMTM because either my size 6 didn't make it to the sale rack or I wasn't interested in the style/color to begin with. But in the last two months I've bought three things (two being for my daughter) and only one pair of speed shorts was regular price. I'm just over it. Maybe I'm just getting too old for their styles (I'm 40), IDK? I do find that even though I resisted the boring black bottoms and bras, those are my work horses of my wardrobe. I could use doubles of those items and then cut my other shamefully large lulu collection down by 70%. Oh well. I guess all good things must come to an end! But LLA, I still check your blog daily out of interest so please keep that going. :)
I have been trying to be more selective about the things I buy because I passed the 'I cannot physically wear the amount of clothes that I already have' point awhile ago. However, one of the things I like about the brand is how new items can breathe life back into the much older pieces that I have. I'm not turned off enough to stop buying yet, and when I am, I will. And although hardly an investment, the clothes do seem to have a resale value or I wouldn't buy as much as I do. I do like athleta, but nothing fits me as well as Lulu does, and there's something about the color palette and patterns that I really love. I get a lot of compliments on my clothes, they hold up well, and I feel good in them.
As for the Stress-Less (7:49): I'm not sure if it's the exact same colors, but there were blue and gray ones from last year. I really like the piece actually... I picked up the bordueax one, and had forgotten I had the blue from last year and brought that one home as well. They looked exactly the same to me, so back it went! Could they be left-over stock from last year??
Why not make something new that is not mesh, snake or herringbone ?
Week after week I see new SYB patterns and colors getting added to Canada and abroad! What the actual f?! Why can't lulu add these to the U.S.!? I'm more than done with this company and I pretty much never check the upload anymore till like Wednesday afternoon. I'm saving money, but it def is frustrating to see them not offer the FEW items I really like in the U.S.
I was a fairly frequent buyer, mostly in store. In the days of insane ET upload times, I never once waited up for an upload. I always managed to get what I wanted. I accumulated way too much and was pretty appalled with myself. About a year ago I did a major purge and sold stuff locally. I had a lot of great stuff. By that time quality of design and manufacturing was already deteriorating so I could have justified keeping more of my older items. But I could not be happier to have done this purge. It was a weight lifted for me - I was not OK having this much LLL. I don't miss anything I got rid of. I still have a decent, more reasonable amount of items. And certain items I still love - Still Pant, CRBs; speed shorts and older crops. It's hard to get a decent CRB these days, which is the one thing I keep my eye on. They are making a lot of unappealing, very passable items, the marketing is foolish, and the model photos (primarily obscuring the clothes) are ridiculous. They lose business and cannot figure out why, then they inflate prices on items to keep their profit margin up. They are delighted if you fall for this. I won't. They'll continue to lose my interest and my business.
