Hey, Lululemon Says They Are Not Discontinuing the Studio Pant

lululemon-studio-pant

I'm not sure what is going on. I saw multiple people report this morning they'd heard from their stores (and I swear one ed say) the Studio Pant was definitely being discontinued. However, Katelin at Hey, Lululemon says the Studio Pant is not being discontinued. Crossing my fingers Katelin got the straight scoop for us.

Thank god! And thank god they only had black left in my size, or I could have done some serious damage! Lol. I'm sure lulu starts these rumors on purpose. And we're all nervous after the demise of the 105f.

LuluAddict, my fear is now not that they're being discontinued, but that they'll be updated into something that I will not like!

I have to agree - I think a lot of these things are started internally to start a buzz amongst us consumers!

I'm really torn on whether to get a pair of these?? Was going to wait until Christmas time when I am home near a lulu store to try them on. I'm worried about this whole waist band roll/bunch up issue. Spending $108 plus shipping it to Norway will take a month and difficult to return :( I see 50/50 reviews on these, some hate them b/c of the waist band and others just love them and own 10 pairs. What to do..what to do. I'm afraid if I wait until Christmas, they will be sold out everywhere, especially the Santa Barbara, CA store. :/ What do you think ladies??! I really want the black and olive green pair, maybe I get the black pair first then see... As always thanks for your reviews and advice! :D

@hmdowd - I love the studio pant and have no reservations recommending them. I don't work out in them, but wear them for to/from and casual wear. They are really among my favorites. They look great on everyone I've seen in them. I wear my usual WU size. Although I could fit a size down, I think a slightly looser fit is more flattering. I have both the lined and the unlined. I prefer the unlined, although they may not be as useful in Norway. The lined are cozier and warmer. Note that they fit slightly different. The lined run a little smaller and shorter IMO, but I still take the same size. I don't think the waist band is that big a deal. I've had my black ones for nearly two years before it started to roll. Its a little annoying, only because I adore them so much I hate to see them tarnished. But they are still very wearable, and I consider it normal wear and tear (like when your older WUs start to pill or the seams on your inspires start to unravel- sad but a fact of regular use).. Truth be told, I also wash my DSPs on regular with everything else.

All that being said, even if you store is out by winter, you should be able to call around to other stores and pick up a pair..

I hope this rumor is just what it is. These are the number 1 wardrobe staple for many of us. I personally own 12 pairs of the lined, unlined and crop versions combined. However, there was just one thing that made me scratch my head and wonder why: I went to the outlet store in the Niagara Outlet mall in Niagara on the Lake (ON,Canada) and the store had lots of the lined version of the Studio Pants on markdown (colors available were slate, navy and white) for $69. One would wonder with fall/winter just around the corner (unfortunately), why would they put on markdown. Unless it is being discontinued or they will launch a new version (perhaps a 3.0???). I really hope they don't make the same mistake they did when they discontinued the cropped version. These pants looks and feels awesome and I wear them pretty much every day. It is funny but once I actually saw a guy wearing them and they looked good on him, so I would say it's the perfect pants for everyone :)
