The $98 What the Sport Shorts. I saw these in the store yesterday. All the dots on them are little gold diamonds. They're cute but still not worth the $40 premium. Shown with the Cardio Squad Tank in the top photo.

Pack It Vest and Split Second Shorts. I tried the vest on yesterday. I liked it well enough but I don't know that I'd ever use one. I've owned a run vest in the past and ended up selling it. I thought the fit was a roomy TTS.

I tried on the Back Pack It Jacket and found it kind of weird. I liked the shape but the backpack straps and zipper are tucked in a pocket in the center of your upper back:

The last photo was with the jacket partially tucked in the pouch-y thing - I think I was doing it the right way but who knows. I gave up since it was taking too long. It wasn't a quick and obvious process.

The Why We Made This is interesting:

On brisk mornings, we love having a cozy layer for the first kilometre or two—but hate when we're stuck carrying it for the rest of our run. Enter this lightweight jacket. We made it with an interior backpack pocket, which lets us stash it out of the way once we've started to sweat.

I don't see a ton of people really needing the back pack function. If I'm going to be chilled enough to need this jacket for only a mile I'd rather just tough it out. This is the kind of jacket I would only wear as a wind layer and it would probably need to be in the 30s for me to break out something like this, otherwise I'm choosing a LS Swiftly or a Race with Grace Pullover if it's really cold.

I guess if it's sprinkling I might choose this jacket but then I'm not making a backpack out of it. Though, if there is threat of rain, I guess you'd start off in the backpack mode.

I didn't care for the feel of the bulk of the straps/zipper on my upper back. I have a few older pullovers - Hills - and a run jacket, Sportif, that have zipper pockets in the small of my back and I much prefer to load up that area. However, I know lots of people run with Camelbaks so I'm sure you'd get used to it. The jacket is a lot shorter than the Miss Misty and the Angel Wing version is beautiful. I didn't think it was particularly roomy through the upper chest/arms and you might want to size up if you have larger shoulders/biceps or are busty, and plan on running in it.

Thanks for sharing your review of the Back Pack It Jacket LuluAddict. I was interested in this jacket since it looked to have a fairly nice shape to it, plus the Floral Sport print and the Angel Wing both looked really pretty. I think the little back pack kind of ruins the jacket for me though, like you mentioned, I most likely wouldn't use this feature, plus having it store in the upper back area I think would probably bother me. Sadly I think I'll pass and keep my fingers crossed that there will be more nice lighter weight jackets soon.

On the subject of vests, I really love my Rebel Runner Vests from last fall. I have both the Black and the Ghost colours. They're really flattering and comfortable and perfect for layering over a Swiftly or Rulu top when it's chilly, and when it gets even colder they layer under a jacket as a mid layer really well too. Hope we'll see more like this for this fall season!

Forgot to mention, about the Back Pack It Jacket, I mostly wear Swiftly tops and now that I think of it, wearing that jacket as a back pack with a Swiflty top is a recipe for disaster!

We just got the Angel Wing Back Pack It jacket for my daughter. It took us quite a while to get the hang of folding it into the backpack and I don't foresee her really doing that ever. But I felt it had a ton of great features - zippered outer pockets in front, extra zippered pocket on back hip, adjustable drawstring hem, stowable hood with adjustable drawstring, media pocket with cord tunnel in both formations - jacket and backpact, etc. And the Angel Wing is really really pretty on. She's got a somewhat thin frame (5'5", 110) and the 2 fit her perfectly.

@ anon 12:16 pm - Did you leave a review of the jacket on the website because your review sounds a lot like the one I read. It is a nicely featured jacket.

@ anon 12:11 pm - I think it will be ok with a swiftly - I think the way it works the mesh phone pocket will be against your bag. I didn't find any sharp edges on the stuff in the pockets and the zipper is protected by flaps. The backpack part sits inside it's own pouch against your back, totally covered by fabric. I used to stress about my swiftlys and wearing my water belts with them but they never got too roughed up.

Yes, that's my review on lululemon.com My daughter wore her new jacket around the house the whole first evening she got it so clearly that inner backpack folding pocket area didn't bother her at all LOL.

LLA, totally agree with your review of the jacket. I too tried it in store and loved the shape, etc. But that backpack pocket totally ruined it for me. Or shoudl I say the location of it. I hate to feel something that high up on my back, especially between shoulder blades because they are moving so much while running. I would constantly rub against that pack. Too bad since it comes in some really nice prints... bummer

I ordered the jacket in two colors and plan to keep one. I agree with everyone who is saying that the backpack feature isn't really practical, but what I see as a plus is that it's super packable and stowable. I imagine this being good for hiking. The fit is wonderful for me in my TTS, but of course that will vary by person :)

@4:24 the fit is beautiful! especially compared to miss misty who I found really bulky.

Thank you for your review - words and pics - of this jacket. I haven't examined it in store yet. I like the blue/black version (in the jacket, not in any bottom, big splotches on one's butt not a good look).

Why do they have to make a pack it/stowable jacket so complicated? I have a light, water resistant jacket by Columbia with a hood and it packs up to fold away into one of the lower side pockets. And of coursse K-Way jackets mastered the pocket stowable jacket. Those were popular when I was growing up. I received a new one when I ran a (premium) race and in addition to a race t-shirt, we got awesome black K-Ways.

Anyhoo, I also have enough LLL jackets. But maybe if it shows up for a deep deep discount in a warehouse sale ;)

A lightweight water resistant jacket is really useful, I have a LLL one that I wear a lot but it's lined so an unlined one that's not so warm would be good. The backpack straps seem just to add extra bulk, it's not a problem to just tie the jacket around your waist if you need to take it off mid-run (I usually grab the arms and spin the body of the jacket around a few times before wrapping it round my waist so there's no fabric flapping around).
