Can't help but wonder if this new print will be as popular as beachscape. It reminds me of beachscape every time I see it. If it comes out in a crb, I'm getting it so I won't regret it later!
The close-ups of the True Self crops seem to show odd shadowing of the design. Is it just me or do these shadows make the print look like you used the wrong detergent when washing them? It also looks like the print is backed in white as you can see the fading through the purple patches in the close-ups of the pictures where the girl is wearing them. Don't love that look.
tried on the True Self crops today and the Wrap Tank intending to buy the entire outfit. Both stayed at the store.
The true self crops are see thru in the front, the stitching on the back thigh hits at a funny spot if you have any thigh and the colors fade with stretch. The fabric felt nice and the waist, leg detail were lovely though. The wrap tank was gorgeous, I sized up and it was still very hard to pull over my head and my boobs popped out. (36/D).
I agree, Anon 6:19, that close up the print looks like the colors bled in the wash. Weird. I don't love this pattern as much as Beachscape, personally, because it lacks the pretty blues and has so much extra white. But, if it's like Beachscape, then be ware that awkward color placement can create weird optical illusions. I tried on one Beachscape print that had light pink across the stomach, and it looked like I had a large muffin top escaping from a tiny tank. (I should mention that my skin is fair so this optical illusion was much more believable on me.) I'm glad I tried it on in store so I could cherry pick the right placement of the light color.
@Jenny - Boo! on the tank fit. That is the only think I am interested in today.
Gosh darn it, I got the other patterned runbeam hoodie, which I love, but now I guess I'll have to get the heathered lullaby one too.
The Wrap Tank, maybe you should try it? I'm broad, Size 10 normally. Can fit in an 8crb but prefer 10. 12 is my size up for jackets though. I'll say the Wrap Tank really made my back look gorgeous, which is why I almost bought it but it would not work for yoga...ever and it was too casual to wear out at night time with cleavage.
@Jenny - a friend who bought it said she found it similar to get on as a Power Y - so a bit tight to pull on and off. I am definitely going to order it but not my hopes are a little dimmed for it.
I've never worn the power Y because racerbacks hurt my neck. I was wiling to forgo the neck pain for the wrap tank. I can't imagine it being the same to get on as a power Y though, All the fabric moves, ALL of it. It took a few minutes to get the wrap part actually where it should be over my bust. The tank does have removable cups, I was thinking if I took them out, it might not have been as booby. I'm still thinking about it, so maybe I'll end up with it. My store had every color.
@Jenny - that probably would help. In those cross over, deep-V style tanks cups definitely makes me pop out a lot more. I hardly ever wear them.
@5:03 AM re: the Beashscape CRB, I didn't buy it, and although I still love the print whenever I see it on someone in a CRB (or the WUP, which I did keep,) I don't regret not keeping it. It had a very poly feel to it. Don't feel bad about letting that one go!
True self crop pattern looks a lot nicer in person. The fading almost looks like tie dye, I am on the fence regarding those.
