I can't put my finger on it but there's something about the Ace Tennis Dress that looks....funky. It's like the fit is off? The lines on the dress hit wrong areas? I can't figure it out but it just doesn't quite look right to me.
I received my order with size 6 refresh maxi in heathered bordeaux and size 6 and size 8 in hyper stripe inkwell. The heathered bordeaux (size 6) showed every lump and bump and pulled in an unflattering way at the hips. Keeping the 6 in stripes, I didn't find that it was snug or pulled at all the same the way the bordeaux dress did, maybe the stripes made it a flattering fit :) I found the size 8 bunched at the rib cage and at the hips and generally looked too big on me. I can easily wear birkenstocks with it and do not need to get it hemmed. For reference I am 5`5``, 32/27/37. I love the super soft material too!
I also tried the Refresh dress, in the Bordeaux and the black and white stripe. Although I found the material soft, it is very thin, and the white parts were extremely sheer in the striped one. I came home with the Bordeaux. Comfy, and true to size. If in doubt, I would size down. The slits up the sides were higher than I expected, but made it super easy to walk/sit in, something I sometimes find to be an issue with maxi dresses. Other than the sheerness, I liked the striped one - good quality in that the stripes lined up at the seams.
The Ace dress is $108 and doesn't come with shorts. My tts felt like a long tank so the dress is really short. There is no shelf bra so the cutout in the back shows whatever bra you have on.
@anon 10:51 AM, I thought the same, I think it is too tight on the first two girls and that it is meant to fit a little loose. They definitely need a bigger size.
@ anon 1:05 pm - that is what I assume when I see multiple photos of an item looking too tight. I assume that people usually reach for their standard size so if something looks too tight on a lot of people, it probably runs snug.

The tennis dress looks tight on everyone. Maybe it's a size up item.
