Hmm I'm not sure I want to see men working out in tights.

LuluAddict said...

It depends on the guy ;-) . My husband likes to wear running tights in colder weather but I think his shirts cover the naught parts.

Does anyone know if you can fit an iPhone in that pocket on the top speed crops? It's getting to warm in SoCal for me to run in tights (and my husband hates it when I run w/o my phone). TIA!

Attention Toronto shoppers, Cumberland store has on markdown: Just Breathe LS $54, black, grey, pink in a number of sizes. Find Your Bliss jacket camo free $99, a few sizes left, Light Speed vest in black, size 10 $84

As for men in tights or crops...three of my yoga teachers can pull them off. They are all super fit, slim and cute.

@ Elizabeth Baker - it would not fit my iphone 5S in its case (lifeproof) in the pocket. I don't even think it could fit it if I took it out of the case.

I never understood why there are so many people that think men shouldn't wear tights. If women can wear what they want to the gym regardless of body type, why can't men be comfortable too? Maybe it's because I am around weightlifters (where it's more common for men to wear tights), but I just don't think it's a big deal. Because you can see some lumps? So what.

LLA that's what I have. Thanks so much for the tip. Might be time to break out my fuel belt.

We call those manpris in the ultra world. At every race, there are always a couple. One man wears hot pink manpris in honor of a family member who survived breast cancer.

@luluaddict:

Is the pocket in the Top Speed Crops the same size as in speeds or Inspires? If so, I easily fit my iPhone 5S in those pockets and do it all the time.

@Elizabeth - check out the GoBelt by Hippie Runner. It doesn't move at all when running and will fit any phone you have with a case.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 7:39 pm - I know, I can fit my phone in my Inspires, too, but this pocket is smaller.

Love when you include mens product--thanks LLA.

Hopefully they will release summer colors for crops soon. Its been like 100 degrees in LA for the past month or so... We need summer colors; pinks, brights for in the flow and wunder under crops. Not these depressing dark grey, burgundy and green pants that no one wants and is not selling out at all

SPIbelt is the best, also stays put. I'd rather use this thinking a crop or short has to fit everything. LLL does already do a great job on pockets. (Especially in comparison to competitors.)

I'm not thrilled about the roll down feature on all the groove pants now, but I otherwise love those heathered black groove pants! They recently opened a full lululemon store in my city, and I think those are going to be worth a try-on.

oh man! i would love to see Harbour Blue in CRB, Stuff Your Bra Tank, Stuff Your Bra, Run Speed Short, and Define jacket!

Does anyone know how LLL men's sizes translate to women's sizes? I wear a size 6 in womens. I like the Repetition SS...wondering if it'll work for me?

LuluAddict said...

@MB - You're welcome. I usually post mens wear when something interesting catches my eye, like those half tights. There have been some photos of the heathered slate Metal Vent tech popping up but I've been waiting for a truly good photo to post. To be 100% honest, when the guys modeling the clothes are heavily bearded lumbersexual/hipster types - which comprise a majority of the limited number of lululemon men's photos - it instantly kills my interest in what they are wearing. I know it's the fashion now but I detest it.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 8:20 am - The men's M is roughly equivalent to a 12. If you are a 6 the men's small is going to be pretty large on you. You can check the men's size chart under the "Education" tab on the website. I've tried on a few men's pieces and have a men's Sea Wheeze Metal Vent Tech race shirt. The problem with the men's items is that you will find them roomy in the shoulders/sleeves, snuggish in the chest, roomy in the waist, snug in the hips and the styling will be very masculine.

now, about men in tights... i read an article last month that a state (i think it was Montana) wanted to ban women from wearing yoga pants in public... pul-eeze!!! i spin instructor wears the tighest bike shorts that leaves nothing to the imagination (i think a size 14 shoe...) and his class is booked weeks in advance (and some people talk and complain about his, uh, manhood). now, if it were the other way around and a pretty girl led the class and it was full on guys, that would just be another Equinox class in NYC. C'mon... let's see (equal) amounts. Stores sell crotchless panties, and women in my gym wear them.. but ya can't show some bulge???

I was so distracted by him stupidly posing on active train tracks that I didn't even notice he was wearing tights. Federal trespassing AND being a complete idiot. Win for LLL marketing!

Anonymous said...

I'm glad LLL is finally making tights for men. I'm pretty sure guy at my gym has the same LLL crops that I do, but he looks sooo much better in them. Now I don't wear those crops to the gym anymore.

LuluAddict said...

@Pixy_stix - Lol, I didn't even notice the train tracks. Full confession - I was kind of digging his muscular thighs. ;-)

Is the upload time going to change with the time change?

LuluAddict said...

@Brige - I would assume it's going to stay the same as it has been - 3:45 pm PST. Though, Australia hasn't had their upload yet today.

Anonymous said...

Ok or not, my husband and any other guy I know would never wear tights let alone capris! Come on!

Alin said...

Yeah the train track pictures are really distracting me. Earlier this year a man was killed while shooting exercise pics on train tracks. I hope pictures like this won't encourage more people to do it. It's so dangerous and incredibly stupid. I hope Lulu tells their stores to stop doing this.

I prefer to see a man in shape wearing tights like this than an out of shape man or woman.
It makes no difference to me, there are plenty of photos on this blogs with women wearing too tight spandex bottoms as well as showing off cleavage.

The dud in the pictures above looks great.

@LLA 8:35am - I agree with you 100% on the beards being 'not my style' but I'm really surprised you didn't get more kickback from saying that! We see all different kinds of women sporting these clothes on your blog - including some that I would not put in the category of 'eye-candy'. And yes, I know it's YOUR blog! Jus' sayin'....

i love this blog, i check in at least 2 or 3 times a week to see what to add to my wardrobe. i cannot believe the amount of comments because of one set of pictures of a guy (and there's really not much to see) in clothes that are as tight as something i wear on a daily basis. we wear thongs so you can't see a hint of panty outline (god forbid) because our clothes are almost painted on, but if a guy wears something that's criminal? my husband personally would not wear anything that tight, nor would any of his friends (i could only imagine "poker nite" if all the guys showed up in bicycle shorts with their bulges). but, it's perfectly normal for us to hang out in our boogie shorts with g-strings (or go commando) and brazilian wax (or completely shaven) and go grocery shopping in the middle of the day? what is wrong with this picture?!?!?

Men in tights is a personal preference, I don't begrudge any man the right to wear them if he so chooses. But I think that, generally speaking, most women are repelled by that look. The reason probably stems from the whole caveman/biological selection stuff (in which I'm not well versed), but I do know that I always find myself gravitating toward more traditionally "manly" men. Women try this in your head - picture twin super hot guys, one is dressed as a firefighter covered in soot from a long day fighting a massive SoCal fire, the second twin is wearing Lulu head to toe dewey from his long day of teaching yoga on a SoCal beach. Which do you instinctively want to see naked and mate with? Not get to know better or get serious with, but you know what I mean, who do you WANT lol

Anonymous said...

8:17 after they are naked it doesn't matter what they were waring before, especially if they have rocking bodies. :P

i don't have much experience with firefighters covered in soot as i live in ny... i do have a lot of guys in my spin class wearing bike shorts and nothing else (most play for the other team, but still it's nice to check out the opposite sex). so, i guess i like my bulges... so do the rest of the girls in my class (some of the convos in the locker room are certainly unprintable here!)

As a fairly fit male, I do love wearing quality tights....even if it is just to knock around the house or run a quick errand. They feel great and give tremendous muscle support. However, I ALWAYS wear a shirt or jacket that is long enough to cover my "front and back". Sure I get a few looks, but it doesn't phase me in the least. Looking forward to cooler weather so I can get into them.
