Comparison: New Groove IIs to Older (2011) Groove Pants

I got my Heathered Black Groove IIs the other day and compared them to my older, circa 2011, Groove Pants. As close as I can tell, the fit has been restored to be the same as the older style Grooves, with a wider knee and slightly smaller flare. I'm pretty excited about this since I hated the newer fit and hadn't bought Grooves since 2011. The Heathered Black makes a nice change from my typical solid colored pants. The fabric content is 42% polyester, 41% nylon, 17% lycra and feels a bit flowy-ier than regular luon. I only wish they'd make them with the regular waistband, too, since I'm not a huge roll-down fan.

Hi gang, am in the market for a pair of crops to do boot camp in -- lots of squats -- I am an instructor so am careful about what may/ may not show when demonstrating an exercise in front of a group. I am freaked out trying to decide when I read reviews about sheerness. Can you advise, I already size up but still think some crops are sheer. I'm considering the Top Speed crops but concerned in general by all the reviews about poor quailty (snags, holes, sheerness). How does everyone else find crops that have no sheerness or problems? Thank you for your advice.

In general, the printed or heathered full-on luxtreme or full-luon crops are probably most opaque.

Do you think the heathered one is more pill resistant that the regular luon? The texture of the heathered one is smoother, more like luxtreme, and I hope it doesn't pill as bad as my luon Groove Pants. What do you think?

in the top picture, what is the print on the waist band? i'm trying to eBay a couple items with that print, and the item is so old i can no longer remember, or find, the color code, etc... thanks

@ anon 4:52 am - It's Tinted Canvas.

@ anon 3:34 am - I wouldn't bet on it. I had some Static Charcoal Still Pants, which look a lot like Heathered Black, from several years ago and they pilled horribly. I think they blend is a lot different but I am not counting on it pilllng much less than regular black luon. I'll try and comment back about how they're doing after a few wears. You can usually tell at that point.

hey helpful friends, this is OT but has anyone used a lulu bag as their diaper bag? im due imminently and i need to figure out a bag situation. my sister uses the bliss bag... any other ideas? my husband will use it too, and prefers a crossbody option and not a backpack, but other than that he is pretty cool with whatever (i.e., not scared of carrying a "purse" haha...)
thank you for the advice!

@anon 6:44pm I don't do bootcamp class although I do own various types of crops for other activities. I love the In the Flow Crop for both yoga and spin. I have both my TTS and a size up and neither size moves or is sheer in a deep bend.

I haven't bought a LLL crop in two years as I simply find any release since then sheer or poor quality.

If reviews are unanimous as to the poor quality of an item, I would trust the reviews. That is what they are there for.

In the Flow crops not being sheer - that is debatable. You will find mixed reviews of people in their regular size or sizing up and they can be see through. I think recent reviews of ITF crops also speak to their poor quality lately, springing holes etc. As with all things LLL, quality has deteriorated.

@ anon 6:44 pm - I went to the store today and tried on the Retreat 7/8 pant and the backside has a double layer of material. The waistband is high and nicely loose, too - very comfy. If you are looking for a fully opaque bottom, check out the Retreat 7/8 pant.
