Some photos of the new Snapshot tee. The tag doesn't say it but this feels like it's made of the stiff and icky swim fabric. I thought these were gross. One version has already been sent straight to the outlet:

Thanks to Ms. S. for the outlet photo. |
I don't know why lululemon is making tee shirts from this fabric, particularly for the winter. Put these prints on Vitasea, which will mute them a bit, and you'd probably have a brisk seller.

My surprise buy of the day was a pair of
black luon Jet Crops. I didn't even realize these existed even thought they are on the website. I tried on the luxtreme Jet Crops over the summer but didn't care for them in full on luxtreme. However, the luon version is another story altogether. These are like comfy sweatpants except more acceptable since they're luon and have a lulu symbol on them. I wish they came in brushed luon so they'd be even more cozy for chilly days. I think these are like a warmer weather version of Base Runners, in terms of comfort. I've bought looser fitting crops before, like the
Free Fall crops but the Jet crops are better. The Free Falls had a droopier crotch, are shorter (Jets are 7/8), and were made of light luon (Jets made of regular luon). These only go to a size ten but I think most people can size down in these.
I tried on both versions of the new Think Fast Hoodie and liked them both. The pique is thick and warm. The Herringbone is a bit thinner by comparison, but is on par with the other herringbones that are out now, but I thought look really sharp with black pants. I was tempted to get both but I restrained myself and stuck with the pique. The fit is TTS.
I ended up returning the
Ultra Violet Pique Vinyasa and the
Fluff Off Jacket today. In light of all the nice pullovers and hoodies coming I just couldn't keep these pieces that would be worn once or twice a year. The Fluff Off Jacket is gorgeous, IMO, but I found it tight in the chest on my and I would only wear it once or twice a year at most. I'd much rather have two pullovers for the same money.

Thanks for the reviews. I would like to get the Think Fast hoodie in pique. I have a CRB to return so maybe I'll do that tomorrow.
Snapshot tee, the mountain image is cool but too bad it is on gross material. Plus, how nauseating that they would put a reference to Bob Dylan on the hang tag. The man's music is legendary and it's just not cool to use his it to try to sell shirts. For shame!
I'm shocked that they're charging $88 or even $69 for that short sleeved tshirt! What the heck! I do agree that it'd be better if it were vitasea, but still too pricey for what it is, even for lulu. That is odd. Most of their long sleeves are cheaper.
I tried the Jet Crops in luxtreme too and didn't really dig them. I'm a fan of this style of pant in general, so might try the luon. I would like to politely disagree that that they're more respectable than sweatpants "since they're luon and have a lulu symbol on them"... Honestly, I think cotton is a more respectable fabric than nylon, and I don't think a lulu symbol commands special respect. But I do agree that they're more respectable than sweats, but only because they're an established casual (not lounge) style. I see them frequently in fabrics like tencel.
No, no, lulu symbols are magic. You can put it on a burlap sack, and voila, fashion! lol :P
Just read the tag for the Snapshot Tee! I think a basic cotton fitted tee would be so much more versatile, comfortable and much more attractive than the Snapshot tee! That top is just so ugly there are no other words.
I felt these hoodies in store today and the pique was super duper soft!!!
I got my stained glass love fluff off pullover today and it was love at first sight but I live in Ontario and will get a lot of use out of it in general and on my runs :) I already wore it today
I rather like the 'stiff, icky, swim fabric'. And the images are intriguing. But $88 for a t-shirt? Really? I don't think I'd pay half that. I don't know what they're thinking but I think they need to get back to "Aparigraha"....
Also, I agree about the Bob Dylan quote. Didn't they just get criticized for 'using' the Dalai Lama to sell stuff. I thought that partnership was great and didn't feel at all cynical about it at the time, but the name dropping of Bob Dylan on a hang tag makes me wonder if the more cynical critics the last time around understood something about Lulu that I did not.
Man, I'm starting to sound like such a broken record but I'm still praying for a coloured herringbone or pique. Just endless black and grays! Come onnnn give me something fun!!
