Cord tunnel in the pocket

I didn't expect to buy a Think Fast Pullover when I went to the store today but I went home with the Herringbone one and seriously considered buying the Heathered Slate one, too. I found the rulu thick and soft; the styling clean, classic, and flattering; and the functionality complete - it comes with both  thumbholes and cuffins, reflectivity on the front and back, a zip pocket big enough to fit my iphone 5S in its Lifeproof case and it has a cord tunnel for my ear buds. You can leave the front zipper open for cooling or zip it up and raise the collar to warm your neck. I have read comments from taller ladies that they find this top a little on the short side but I think it's fine for me (5'5"). The old U-Turn Pullovers were much shorter.  Unlike the Race Your Pace Half Zip, the seams were not at all itchy or noticeable (I tried the PO on over a sports bra and it was soft all over). This pullover seems to work really well for bustier women. If you are in the market for a rulu pullover definitely check these out. I thought the fit was TTS.

Man, I want the whole outfit - Stained Glass Scuba and Black Grape Wunder Under Pants.

The new Straight Up Pant in the Tri Geo print. I tried on the Inkwell version of the pants. They were a comfy pant but the Inkwell is sheer.

The new Houndstooth Tracker II shorts.

I also bought the new Boom Juice Cool Racerback. I think I am going to wait to take the tags off this one. I really like the color but the CRB is on the thinner side and highlights my tummy imperfections. I am going to hope another Boom Juice tank comes along.

LLA, did your receipt show that the holiday return policy has gone into effect? I saw on Lulumum's page that it has started.

Any word on details about the herringbone inspires? Are they luon?

LuluAddict said...

My receipt says two weeks. I heard the holiday return period starts Nov 7.

I flat out asked an educator about the holiday returns and yes it starts this Friday (at least in the US). I'm suiting my dad up :D

I wasn't excited about the Think Fast PO but now I am sure I will get one (breaking a lulu detox! but hey, one item...). I think inkwell, but herringbone is crazy tempting! Ahh decisions decisions.

I thought there was a new return policy???

Thanks for the very thorough review!

I have to say though that some of these new prints seem more appropriate for throw pillows, curtains and couches than work out wear.

That's too bad about the Boom Juice CRB. I was hoping that it'll be soft and thicker compared to the FT and chocolate CRBs.

Wait just to confirm the Herringbone Race Your Pace pullover wasn't uploaded to the US side yet right??

Anonymous said...

Sorry I just submitted a comment asking about Race Your Pace and I meant the Think Fast Pullover. Has that one been uploaded in herringbone to the US side? I didn't see it on Tuesday but now I'm afraid I missed it.

LLA..I went into my Local Lulu tonight and tried the straight up pant in the tri-geo print and found that I liked certain aspects of the pant but overall not in love..I thought the waist band was comfy but a little loose in my tts but on the back of the leg the material bunched up in an unattractive way..size up didn't help and then it was a mess in front..sizing down felt better in the waist but even more pronounced material bunching in the back of leg..tried on inkwell as it's slightly different luon and my tts was better in the back of the leg but it was still bunching up and not laying smooth.

OT for this post but I purchased a pair of speed tights in the brushed but the educator asked if I had seen the speed tight tech..said they were a warmer fleece lined..she didn't have my size but showed me the pant in another size and they were $98 as opposed the the brushed which are $108
I asked because I thought if the tech is supposed to be a thicker warmer version shouldn't they be the higher priced pant? Also I noticed extra seeming on the Tech speeds versus a single seem down the leg of the brushed speeds..What do you know by chance about the differences with these speeds?

I'm glad I have the herringbone Base Runner Half Zip from last year so can pass on the Think Fast Pullover in the herringbone. I would like the heathered slate one but I'm going to wait.

Can you tell me what color swiftly that is w the houndstooth trackers?

just cranberry and inkwell uploaded on Tuesday. other colors are in stores.

Don't you think the new Think Fast Pullover looks very similar to last years Base Runner 1/2 zip (aside from vent/mesh)

Anonymous said...

the think fast pullover is so unflattering looking....it makes the chest look saggy and it's tight in the midsection...definite pass!

LuluAddict said...

I don't think it uploaded. Just the inkwell and red.

BK - It does resemble the Base Runner half zip somewhat but that pullover had a lot of features I didn't like - the neck opening is asymmetric (I prefer a center zip). It has a front kangaroo pouch pocket which I don't care for in my pullovers. The Base Runner doesn't have cuffins and I want thumbholes and cuffins in a $98 pullover. The Base Runner had a scalloped hem and the Think Fast has a straight hem. The Base Runner also was rather busy looking with color blocking and lots of seaming. The Think Fast is a little cleaner to my eye. All those reasons led up to me buying a Think Fast and passing on the Base Runner last year.

LuluAddict said...

@BK - Oh yeah, the Base Runner also had a seam that was supposed to sit underneath the bust but because I am so busty it hit me 1/3 up my bust. There were a lot of reasons I passed on that PO.

LuluAddict said...

Correction - the Think Fast does have the zipper offset a bit from the center but the opening at the chest is symmetric. The Base Runner set a bit more to the side but I never liked how the neck looked fully zipped up on that PO.

Lol, such a book on a PO.

I think the last rulu PO I bought before this was the Full Tilt herringbone. I also bought the Race With Grace luxtreme PO. The POs I buy tend to have the same elements - straight hem, center neck opening that can usually be zipped into a turtle neck, cuffins and thumbholes, zipper pocket. Clean lines/classic styling with not too much color blocking/ruffles/ruching.

@ anon 4:40 pm -I thought there was, too, but when I read it closer the new policy relates to problems with an item. You can take back an item that has a quality problem any time.

LLA, I'm 100% with ya, I went to the store and saw all four colors of TF Pullover. After trying, I think they are the best Rulu 1/2 zip pullover so far Lululemon made, and the Rulu this run is the best, like the fabric they used for Yinyasa Scarf. I just have to patiently wait for Friday and order all of them, then I will have time to decide if I really *need* four until Jan 11th next year!

Hi June, it looks like the Swiftly Long Sleeve Crew in Tonka Stripe Heathered Black Black.

I'm hoping to make a trip to my closest store this weekend to try on the new Think Fast Pullover and the Fluffed Up Vest. Thanks for your comments and review on the pullover LuluAddict. After reading your thoughts on the Base Runner Pullover I'm really glad that I didn't order the black and white parallel stripe one that was on WMTM last week! I was hesitant about it because of the seam under the bust area (32E and usually have the same problem as you had with that kind of detail) so I'm glad I went with my gut feeling on that one. I'm going to give the Think Fast a try.

Has anyone tried the new Fluffed Up Vest? I'd like to get this one in Boom Juice if it fits me well, etc I'm pretty much always a Lulu size 4 and just wondering how this one fits, especially in the bust area and if it's a pretty tight fit is there a little give and stretch to it? Also, it the photos it looks like there is a second zipper option - just wondering how that is from the inside of the vest, I'm wondering if it would be hard on Swiftly tops, or does it have some kind of protection along it?

I'm hoping to get to my store before they're all sold out, and if I can't get there I'm hoping there will still be some left online! I see they'e selling out online already!

What is the holiday return policy??

Has anyone heard feedback on if the new Boom Juice inspires are sheer? I tend to stick with black/inkwell because of sheerness issues. I'd also love to know if the cotton WUP in black grape is sheer (like the luxtreme is).

Anonymous said...

oops! i mean i am wondering if there is sheerness in the new Passion Crops (Boom Juice). not Inspires.

I just tried on all four of the think fast...The boom juice looked a little faded to me. not nearly as bright as I thought. I came home with the herringbone because the material was the thickest and the collar had more shape to it. I plan on wearing it up if I keep it and the boom juice and inkwell collars sort of flopped around and didn't stay put. I sized down for a close fit. I am REALLY missing cuffins but I can see using the kleenex pocket. would rather have cuffins though..I can stuff a kleenex in my side pockets. I have the mini stripe black race your pace which I love..(no itchy seams, no poking zipper here). There are so similar BUT the herringbone is classic. All in all..I am on the fence about the zipper and collar..I like the two way zips because I like to have my neck covered and the option to let off steam. Got some awesome pants at Athleta with windstopper fabric down the front of the leg.. don't know if lulu is releasing any warmer pants yet for the winter so I went elsewhere.

I just read the product description on the TFP and it says cuffins..and it does fold over but the it says ready or snot on the inside and the folder is very shallow... you could turn it over all the way and stick your hand up inside but it is different than usual..smaller opening, more fabric inside.

That entire stained glass scuba outfit is gorgeous!!! You people are making me want the Think Fast PO now even though I don't need another rulu po. I never bought the base runner PO last year because I didn't dig the neck zipper thing. Plus, last year's was too warm for my climate. Apparently last year had venting along the bottom of the arm whereas this year's doesn't.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 11: 03 - good point about the collar having more shape in the herringbone. The floppy collar was a reason I left the gray at the store. I do like two way zips, too. That is one of my favorite features of the Race With Grace PO I bought last year.

last years star runner rulu PO Is hard to beat IMO. It has it all: lace mesh, cuffins, ruffles, thumb holes, reflectivity, pocket for phone, kangaroo pockets...but all this talk about TFP- might have to try.
