Golden Goddess City Tank, Flurry Fighter Tights, New Stuff in the Stores, and More

I keep looking at these illusory prints waiting for them to grow on me, but it's just not happening. Don't get me wrong, I think the prints are beautiful for beauty's sake, but I just don't see how the sequin/beaded tops will be relevant beyond the holiday season. It just reminds of the feeling you get pre-holidays when you see sequin/beaded apparel "Ooh that's so pretty, I could wear it to the holiday party" And then the day after New Year's you see the same dress marked down 70% off

I need that Think Fast LS in Ultra Violet!!!!

I think because it's not real "sequins" or "beads" it should still look good even after the holidays. Pair with a plain top perhaps?

I'm not a fan of all the new prints these days, just not my style, but it's a nice change for those of you who like that kind of thing. Even the black Flurry Fighter pants are not to my liking because of the patchwork panels all over them! I understand the panels are supposed to be for extra wind and water resistance but that doesn't make functional sense anyway - what about the areas in between and around the panels?! It doesn't make much sense and looks terrible in my opinion.

The Flurry Fighters looks very Sci Fi to me. Like something out of Divergence.

That top looks ike a figure skating costume. The end.

I heard a lot of the new stuff for Christmas will be "sequin-y"

City Tank, I nominate for one of the worst items ever, in any color or print. Just when I think they can't make something more ugly and unflattering, they do.

FTBW bra colors/patterns: *meh* glad I don't want a new one (already have 2 great ones)

Agreed about the Flurry Fighters. The last thing I need while out on a run is more seams, and I need wind resistance everywhere, not just on the front of the pants (the winds howl in all directions). I'd like to take all the Vancouver designers who are also outdoor winter runners and drop them in the center of the continent for a winter or two. :-)

The free to be wild bra! That's a surprise! I wish we could pick the COLORS! Those prints are a little meh! I guess that's a good think because I don't have to fight for one!!

So searching the weekend long sleeve..... Did it come out at the end of October? I am a little confused!

@ anon 1:32 am - It does. I think it's very juvenile. Great style for an 8 year old. I hate it.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks the city tank is atrocious. And not a fan of these jeweled, beaded, sequined, snake-skin prints either. I must be boring. :)

I agree about the City Tank, all of the educators who've modelled it are fit and toned and can get away with some pretty unflattering stuff and still look elegant but that is just a no!

I also agree with taking the Vancouver designers out to Prairies and leaving them there for a month with their designs so they can find out they don't work in -40

All of the snakes/beaded prints remind me a little of what really old and glam ladies would pick! You know, the tiny little grandmas that wear red lipstick and tight leapard pants.

Yah I'm thinking I am gonna return the city tank. I had both light pink and solid black at home to try on again as I struggled getting it on. But after the comments I am thinking it is maybe to cutesy. I just liked it becuz it was different from usual workout gear. I don't do yoga just pump so probably not appropriate though the solid black looks ok.

@our daily lemon - ITA. It reminds me of Vegas or the Mike Meyers SNL Coffee Talk sketch/Sopranos "glam" look.

@ anon 8:02 am - If you like the City Tank you should keep it. Don't let me or anyone else sway you. I am all for going for the unusual when it comes to workout wear. I have quite a few crazy print run crops that make my teenage son roll his eyes. Motivating yourself to keep up with workouts is tough enough, might as well wear fun clothes, bright colors, and crazy prints to liven it up.

I have purchased a few Reebok items lately - the colours are fun, the fabrics are pretty good and they have some different styles too --- anything to make it fun to go out and workout! I am liking the brighter colours - purples, teal, polka dots, unique prints (one is road map of London) on a bright fushia top - I find LLL colours can be quite dull for my colouring - especially over winter. Now Reebok prices are same or more than LLL, so when they have a sale I tend to buy then!

Anon 8:02 AM - I agree with LuluAddict that if you like the City Tank you should keep it. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, only what you think, and if you like it and it makes you feel good wearing it then you'll wear it well. When I say that I don't like a particular style or print, I mean that I don't like it for me personally, but that doesn't mean that I don't think it would look amazing on someone else, we're all different with different styles and that's definitely a good thing.

the city tank is just not the type of top that everyone could wear.
If you are busty and have hips it's a big non no.
I think a petite woman with a slim figure can look good in that top.

I haven't made a decision regarding the sequin pattern I am certainly not going crazy over it.

Do not keep the City Tank at this time! It is guaranteed to go to wmtm. If you like it, that's great, we are all different in our preferences; but have patience and wait for the markdown :)

Are the new Free to Be*Wild bras in stores yet?

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 9:25 pm- I've seen photos of them from a Vancouver, BC store but no other stores yet.

I just picked up my FTBW bras in store Ontario. The polka dot one was sold out. Straps are that rose bud pink and polka dot pattern has the white gray rose on it. I also got the violet one which is solid and I left behind the black grey white striped one as it had black straps and I already have a solid. Black and a striped one with rocky road straps. Can't wait for the bright summer colours that Australia has

I did return the city tanks. The size up was too big on top half and the regular size proved impossible to pull on and off without rolling and even the inserts were folded by the time I got everything in place. I am thin so it was flattering but I decided it was to ballet-ish for body pump class. Not sure I would get it even on WMTM. Thanks though as I really don't care what people think. Lol.

I love love love the city tank!! It's so feminine and ballet-like as a pp said. I got 4 colours because I think it can be very versatile. Paired with a skirt or pants.

I agree that everything depends on your style and body type. Some items work and some don't!
