Giant Herringbone Skinny Will Fabric |
Does anyone happen to have both the
Giant Herringbone Inspire Crops and the
Giant Herringbone Skinny Wills, or tried them on and can comment on the differences between the feel in the fabric? The Inspires are luxtreme and the Skinny Wills are full on luon. You can see the difference in the fabrics in the above photos. I was wondering whether the luxtreme Giant Herringbone felt thicker, warmer, and/or softer than regular full on luxtreme and similar to the material used in the Giant Herringbone Skinny Wills (GHSW). I assume the material used in the Inspire crops is going to be the same used in the soon-to-be-uploaded Giant Herringbone Speed Tights so trying to figure out whether it's worth ordering them. I am looking for a similar feel to the GHSW, which I love. TIA.

I opted not to purchase the herringbone inspires because they felt rather stiff in comparison to my collection of inspires at home. I also did not love the printed herringbone look. It looked a little strange when the fabric was streched.
Not sure if that helps.
@ anon 7:11 pm - Ooh, good to know about how they looked when stretched. That cools my lust for them a lot. Thanks!
I bought the herringbone in my regular size (they didn't stretch at all on my as mentioned above?) and i LOVE them. I found them much better feel wise than most luxtreme, definitely thicker.
Have both, returning the inspires. I have 15 pairs and this one is so stiff and scratchy. Looks great but there is no way I can workout in these. The print is much better looking in the skinny will ( which I love:) I wish the inspires were soft because I hate passing up such a unique pair but they do not feel good against the skin:(
I purchased the skinny wills and love them! I then purchased the inspires... the fabric does not feel the same as the skinny wills and isn't nearly as thick, soft or compressive. I purchased both in my usual size 4 and the inspires actually felt a bit loose. Needless to say, I returned them and probably won't even try the Speed Tights now. Plus, I just purchased the fleece tech speeds and they are amazing!!
I ordered the skinny wills and the inspires in the giant herringbone. I returned the inspires and kept the wills (in a size up). I didn't care for the fabric of the inspires, they almost felt scratchy to me.
Thanks for all the feedback everybody. I think I can take the Herringbone Speed Tights off my wish list now. It's not like there isn't enough items on it already. ;-)
I bought the skinny wills and run inspires. Skinny wills in giant herringbone is more compressive than the solid or heathered luon. I did not like the inspires. It's too hot without thr circle mesh panels to offset the stiffer luxtreme.
Side note, I also do like the fleece tech speed and flurry tights. For warmth. Both too hot indoors! As much as I am drooling for the gisnt herringbone speeds, I will pass.
Hi, for those of you who purchased the speed tights in tech fleece do they run TTS? I usually buy a 4 in them though they always feel more snug than others for some reason but a 6 always too big. Any advice if I need to size up in the thicker fabric would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks LLA love this blog :-)
If anyone is after the herringbone Inspires, Toronto's Cumberland store has them. I didn't try them on; I don't care for this crop style.
Thank you for the Q and the As - I just saved $100. It would make me crazy to have a print pattern get distorted as it stretches.
@ Anon 9:37 --- fit of the tech fleece speed tights: I always have to size down in the full length running tights from an 8 to a 6 or else they slide down while I run for some reason. The tech speed tights and the flurry fighters were no different...I sized down to a 6 in them as well. Hope that helps.

I have found in the past with tech fleece pants from lulu that a size up might be needed. The tech fleece is normally really compressive fabric. I have not personally tried the new tech fleece speeds so I can not say for sure on those but that would be my thought is to try the size up.
@ anon 9:37 -- I got the Flurry Fighter tech fleece pants this weekend and I think the size down vs. TTS depends a little on your body type. They are definitely more compressive throughout and the waist is a bit on the small side, but I stayed TTS because I have stocky legs and a smaller midsection, so they fit well once I got them over my thighs. But someone who carries her weight in the middle might want to size up or the waist would cut in.
On a related note, I have just about every iteration of tech fleece pants from the last 4-5 years and know that a HUGE complaint in years past has been that lulu simply doesn't make tech tights that are thick enough for truly cold winter weather. They've definitely addressed that issue, as the Flurry Fighter tech fleece is noticeably thicker and more plush than any lulu pant I own -- very warm! I'm optimistic these will keep me warm even in the dead of winter.
