Black Friday Special Edition Items Revealed

The lululemon Black Friday Special Edition items were revealed in a Racked article. The collection is supposed to be 10 items ranging in price from $42 to $148. The speckled print looks like a brighter Rocky Road and I think the other prints are Golden Goddess and Bead Envy. Can't say these photos make me too excited.

Golden Goddess and Bead Envy "3D print" Wunder Under bottoms. (Thanks to Ms. R. for the photo.) Not sure if these are part of the special edition Black Friday release or not but it certainly seems they could be.

Too Flashdance/80s for me. My rule is that if I rocked the look the last time I came around, I leave it to my daughters this time. ;)

No, just no.

Oh goodness...no thank you

I am not sure if it's just me, but the whole glitter marketing in these photos is a.bit.bizarre.

Doesn't make me want any of it....the model poses just aren't appealing. :(

@ anon 12:23 pm - some glitter is fun but too much is tacky. I find these photos underwhelming and the styles are bizarre. I hate baseball/bomber jackets.

Ewwwww. Hopefully, some good markdowns on other stuff or LLL won't get my BFF $

Wow, these items are tragic.

@Deezee - I think a lot of people were hoping for ruffles and lace special edition items, like in previous years. My wallet is safe from these items but I'm hoping for herringbone, pique, and run items I'll like.

I guess I'm in the minority but I like the way they used the glitter. It's overdone because it's a marketing campaign not that they expect us to wear glitter while we work out. It's just fun and something different from Lulu.

However, while I like some of the items I can tell you I won't be buying any of them at full price. I can wait for them to hit WMTM if they ever do otherwise I'm ok without them.

I'm on your team.

@ anon 1:10 pm - I probably dislike the styles more than I dislike the prints. I really dislike the bra, jacket (hate baseball/bomber style), baggy pants, and the shorts. The only things I like are WUPS and the peplum tee.

To all of this I say: NO THANK YOU. Maybe I'll go ahead and order both the new Ivivva Herringbone pants because most of the lulu stuff I've seen lately is fug city.

I'm obsessed with the glitter shine tights. they're perfect for festive holiday fun without being hohoho.

Nope, no thanks. My wallet has been safe for months!

When are the Black Friday items supposed to upload? Will it be on Thanksgiving Day?

Huh. I guess I am thankful that I may be giving my credit card a bit of a break. I like a little out-of-the-box thinking, but I'd like the box to be at least in sight. I think these items are way off. (And I really hate black crotch seams!)

I LOVE the prints in the bottom pic but wish the pattern wasn't just the front so wouldn't buy.

LLA, do you think the in-store markdowns for black Friday will also be available online (and vice versa), or will this be another week of stores doing what they want for markdowns, independent of the website?

I saw the Black Friday items today, and actual glitter is not used. It is a deceptive print. In person, it looks like coins and not glitter. The high waist tights are shine tights and the material is extremely stiffs. Like paper stiff

Oh gosh, not jealy at all here. They can keep it. Really, wth? OZ/NZ get a bunch of great items and this is what LLL peddles in NA? I'm happy for OZ/NZ to get some great stuff, but get a clue LLL marketing for NA! We get disco/vegas or the crappy &Go stuff. This company continues to make me shake my head!

Eeesh, are the Black Friday "specials" ugly. I'm not tempted by any of them. I don't mind glitter, but those are not good glitter.

I'm looking forward to seeing more pretty purple items, though. I couldn't get enough of it last spring and a long sleeve swiftly is something I think I need. I noticed they used it for a yoga strap that's online, too, so maybe there'll be a few more items in that shade.

@ anon 1:10 pm I agree with you completely. Fantastic look book/market tool. To each her own...mostly not for me, but fun and different. Will draw people in to the stores to look. Once in the store, they'll buy something most likely.

The only items I like are the WUP that has all over print not the ones with the print on front and black on back and I need to try the peplum top..it's cute but depending on where it hits me it may or may not flatter :) I agree LLA I dislike baseball bomber jackets!

Agree with 1:10pm.
I like the photos with the glitter as a marketing angle, but I don't love the clothes or patterns.

I hope other items will be on markdown.

ok, i am going to be the oddball here: i am so not into sparkly anything (tho i am getting more open to it now that i have 3-yr-old (girl) who seems drawn to sparkles). and i'm not into the flashdance aesthetic AT ALL (see Deb @12:15). but i do kind of like this series of shots, i like the scoop-back top and the bra, and i might even like the beaded pattern and would consider the first pattern (on the tights and bra) depending on how it looks close-up. there's something sort of arty-circus-y, french canadian, fin-de-siecle-y about the stuff. (i'm also the one who commented elsewhere about liking the prisma multi guava lava boom juice pattern for its hints of art nouveau, so maybe there is a pattern to my preferences...) i would never think so but maybe i am some subset of the target audience!

I totally agree with you on both counts- to me the sequined print is more 20s glam than it is flash dance (would think differently if the sequins were neon rather than bronze) and the prisms pattern is completely art nouveau influenced as it is essentially a kaleidoscopic floral filagree. I wish they'd picked softer colors or turned it into a beautifully detailed neutral. With all pieces it's a matter of how you pair and style them. I have a pair of actual sequined lounge pants from Anthropologie, so sequined there isn't actual fabric visible just a complete wash of bronze sequins (they are actually quite heavy), and they are completely outrageous. Wearing them with a plan top and simple flats I get stopped by women of all ages all the time. If you can't get into sequins all year maybe it's not worth buying a pair of "seasonal" crops or a jacket because that might not be the best investment for you. Or maybe it'd be in to rock something really festive in a class! ^_^

The photos remind me of a photo project I had when I was studying fashion photography. I got a C+ on it. teacher wasn't impressed.
those clothes work if you are a dancer.
