New Striped Cool Racerback Will Require Cherry Picking

I heard my local stores got the new striped Cool Racerback in so I made a quick trip down to the store this morning to get one. They are all different and I ended up trying every size 8 and 10 one on in the store. This CRB is nicely soft and stretchy.

Inkwell/Black Denim Skinny Will

I also tried on the new Black Herringbone Wunder Under Pants on - I thought they were about the same thickness as my Herringbone Skinny Wills from last year. I also tried on the Inkwell/Black denim Skinny Wills and really liked them. The material was thick and opaque. I may end up getting them.

Did you try on or see the roam and oms? Any other fun feedback from today?

has anyone tried on the black and white dresses? It has a white "power y" top and then either a flared or pencil skirt black bottom... seems really cute. I think the skinny bottom is called 16 hour dress, but my store only had a size 4 left.... does anyone know more?

I'm not sure about the that CRB... I think it's too many colors for me and I don't care for the pear color.

I LOVE the Inkwell/Black Skinny Wills so much that I bought a back-up pair! I really hope they make them in black & bordeaux.

Did you get try on the practice cotton Skinny Grooves yet? I purchased them about a week ago and I'm deciding if I'm going to keep them. They are super comfy but I think they would just be for lounging since they don't compress at all. My usual size 4 feels a bit loose.

I found the blog of a lululemon fast turn designer (not sure if you've seen this)...very cool entries and "behind the scenes" stories she posts about lulu designs. Even a Lululemon tux for a fan! Check it out here....

I ordered those skinny wills when they were uploaded two weeks ago. Love them. Very flattering and opaque. I think as the weather cools I will reach for them a lot for pure barre.

lol I would love to try every CRB in store in my size. Do the "educators" give you a hard time about it?

skinny wills are one of my favorite styles from lll. i however can't buy them anymore - the plastic tips and super thin/cheap ribbon is laughable compared to the older styles. i have 6 prs - thank goodness so i'm all set. i so wish they hadn't cheapened them b/c i love the color and fabric of the inkwell/black. the CRB - to me looks kinda cheap and ordinary, but i'm also a CRB addict so it may be that i'm just now a bit more selective. thanks so much for all the AWESOME pics, reviews and the work you put into this blog - it's truly Amazing!!

Thanks for the update! I will try to get this CRB in store instead of ordering it on-line.

Toronto stores do not have this CRB yet, as of today anyway.

Thanks for your opinion too on the herringbone quality in this year's WU's. I exchanged my herringbone WU size 4 for a size 6 today. 4 is my usual and fit perfectly, but I sized up mainly due to my well developed calves. The size 6 is also good on me and roomier in the waist (though not loose). I won't be wearing these for working out--rather with sweater or long shirt, casually--so I'm not worried about them sliding down.

Toronto's Cumberland location had all sizes of the herringbone WU pant today. FYI there's a race in the area tomorrow morning so the store may have a lot of traffic from runners.

I just received the Inkwell/Black Denim Skinny Will pants today and I am in love! I really hope they come out with more thick Skinny Wills this fall.

Is the denim skinny will tts or size down?

The inkwell wills were my regular WUP size for me and so were the cotton skinny grooves which I loooove but will not use for workouts. Biggest surprise was the om and roam untight tight. I so wanted a pair of the carry and go pants from earlier this year but the smallest size was a large 4. The om and roam are even nicer and came in a 2-very cute! A 2 is a size down from my tts so they are a generous fit.

Hi, I think the CRB in the top left is the most flattering? Which one did you pick in the end?
I'll be keen to visit the store in person to check it out.

Was just about to ask if the denim skinny wills are TTS or size UP?

Dear LLA, I'm so appreciative of the hard work you've put into the blog.

Just an idea: It's a lot of work, but is it possible to start a separate page on this website, of an CRB index- based on fabric softness and stretch, with palettes of color comparison.

The CRB is such a great classic, and I think so many people buy multiples. With a comparison page, it'll be so much easier to gather feedback on the crbs everyone's crazy about. Just a thought :D

I normally wear a 2 but I went with a 4. The fabric doesn't have much give, as others have noted. Hope that helps!

I'd say TTS for the skinny wills--at least in the inkwell/black ones. The material is not overly stretchy.

I got the triple stripe refresh racer in the mail and the stripes on that one are the same as in the website photo. Not sure if that's a coincidence or if they all have the same placement.

I do this all the time because of sizing inconsistencies. If an educator asks me about it that's what I tell them. They know about the sizing issues. They also understand my being picky about color placement. Don't let this bother you. Get what makes you comfortable. Happy Shopping!

@anon 6:22 - I found they fit tts to all my other skinny wills. Love the black/inkwell and hope they come out with more colors this winter! Black/Bordeaux would be fab...

There is a herringbone rulu village scarf on Ivivva's website? Will like to ask you ladies if the scarf will be ok on my 5"1 100lbs frame? I missed out on the LLM version and has been hunting ever since. TIA :D

What happened to the camp check scuba? Did they sell out?? Seems like not many people were interested! I thought I was in the minority when I ordered it. Or did it get pulled for some reason?

Anonymous said...

Soooo, which one did you end up with?

Anonymous said...

I really want to buy the denim Skinny wills! Is it true to size or did ou have to size up/down?

Anonymous said...

I have both the inkwell/black skinny wills AND the skinny grooves, and the skinny grooves are WAY better. I may end up keeping only the skinny grooves since I like them so much better.
Check them out if you liked the skinny wills in the same fabric :)

I did end up buying the left one in the top photo. The one on the right cut my boobs in half. The second photo is of the size 8s which were on the snugger side and I didn't love any of them better than the one I ended up with.

@ Donna - Interesting find. Can't say I'm a huge fan of any of the "fast turn" (using left over fabric) items to date. It's very obvious when those items are released and so far none of the designs have been compelling enough to me to make me get them. I also can't say I am a major fan of the sustainable items, either. Instead of a klugey remake of stuff that didn't sell - take the fabric and make toddler groove pants out of them. At one time, lulu made little baby Groove pants that you will find on ebay every now and then. OR, just send these remade items straight to the outlet to sell for reduced prices. Pottery Barn has lots of made for the outlet only items. Not sure why lululemon can't do that, too.

She did have a great hit with the Free to Be Wild bra, though.

Thanks to all who answered the inkwell skinny will question!

OT but the pleat to street skirt is back in solid colors on the US side

OT- anyone know what is up with the heathered black or grey cotton skinny grooves? our local store (Colorado) got a few pairs about 3 weeks ago, quickly sold out in 6/8/10 and I thought I saw them in some pics here but I have been waiting to see them online - will they be coming online? or was that it?

Thanks anon 9/7 @9:41! I just ordered the herringbone scarf from Ivivva. I don't like overly large scarfs anyway. Fingers crossed that I like it :)

The BB checker print scuba jacket is off the site and not in any LA stores. Anyone know what is happening or seen them in US stores? I know it's still hot, but usually the Santa Monica store gets everything pretty quickly.

Hi @1:49, you're welcome :) I'm excited and hope the size is ok. it doesn't appear to have the strange line across the scarf, but well, we'll see.
