For the women's SW short, the pattern inspiration (minus 3D) seems to be similar to the pattern seen in the Power Pedal Rain Jacket's belt. It's not exactly the same, but the one wide band of zig zag is almost the same.
Awful shorts for the men. Our Chief of Cardiac Surgery is doing SeaWheeze. He's 60ish and very conservative. He is going to hate these shorts! I wonder if I should show him what he's getting or just wait til he receives them in the mail. Pretty disappointing pair of shorts! Polka dots for men seems a bit over the top.
I theorize that some execs at Lululemon made a $1 bet (a la trading places) where one bet the other that the Cult of Lulu is so strong that people will still sign up in droves to run their race even if they make the shorts supremely unattractive.
After seeing the really nice stuff they made for Olympics, it's baffling that they're using such unattractive patterns.

Soooo.. Guys are going to look like they're running around in boxers.. Lovely.
That is what I thought, too, Laura - either pattern would look like boxers on the guys.
