Tie One On Pant

Some try on photos of these are starting to trickle into my lulu Facebook groups. The back view is awful.

I'm in for a good laugh tonight, LLA *grabs popcorn* keep the fugly pics coming.

If I put on that horribly-named Secret Garden jacket over this new Mudra sweatshirt with the tragic Tie one On pants beneath I would probably be mistaken for a deranged bag lady… instead of one who had just dropped several hundred dollars on Lulu.

hahahahaha.

I thought I loved my not so petit fleur wuc but I think I have to return... I really like the pattern but it's just too much! I try to get out of my comfort zone a little I can't pull these off though!

I can't figure out the point of these pants. It seems that lululemon's "greatest hits parade" is over. I needed a spending break anyway.

I agree with you Anonymous @8:26pm. What is the POINT of these pants?!?!?! I could forgive the ugliness for function, but what purpose does the tie serve?

There should be a speech bubble contest for this photo. "Wth is going on below my waist?!"

@anon 8:26PM......I agree lol. Vacation time from lulu until they figure out why they thought these pants were ok...

What was the design team aiming for? I'm glad this is an easy pass for me.

I feel these pants will look good on people who can carry them off in a very laid-back/boho manner, and tying the knot probably entails some experimenting.
I can def see a lean woman with a messy bun, aviators, simple tank top rocking these pants a la Olsen twins, or the French on holiday in Thailand :)
Not for everyone though.

Definitely not for me but I won't be surprised when someone says they love them.

I got the In the Flow dress in the heathered black in my usual size 4. I tried the 6 as well and it was too baggy above the waist. I tried the angel blue one and while I love the colour, it was just a little light and managing undergarments (no showing through) a challenge, imo. FYI Halifax shoppers, the dress is in store in all 3 colours. Had most sizes yesterday, except less in angel blue, it's going fast.

I got the WU crop in the wee space tonka grey, code WABC/BLK. I was surprised the store still had one last pair. I don't recall exactly from reading here - did people experience problems once wearing? Did threads start to come loose?

Also picked up the angel/purple stripe CRB.

@anon 7:03... Same here I just got my not so pet WUC in and I'm on the fence with the pattern.... I keep going back and forth. The crops are cute but then again I'm not in love with the pattern ... Or am I? Haha I can't decide. Usually what that means is ... I will not wear them very much and so I prob will return them. Can't really afford to have LLL that i only where once! And that I'm not too confident in. There's just something about that print that I'm not quit sure of. Anyone else thing the not so pet print is iffy?

A few weeks ago my 2 1/2 year old daughter leaked and we were at my older daughter's dance studio, so we didn't have an extra pair of pants. In a pinch, I grabbed my long charcoal gray wool sweater, put her legs in the arm holes and tied it around her waist. I swear, not being sarcastic, they looked exactly like the Tie One On pant!! Even more interesting...the 12-13 year old girls saw her and really liked the "pants!" They thought they were harem pants which I guess are popular among the young dance community.

My husband said Lululemon finally out of idea now for a break, but because they still HAVE to put something on for their new release, they just THINK hard for something different and special, without too much of extra energy to care if they really look good. He said that's so good because he can finally start to save some money for summer vacation. Lol

HAHAHAHA 6:48pm you are totally on point. *sigh* the only good news is that it saves me some $$. Just wish there was more stock of the awesome stuff (like the tech mesh tights!)

Ahh the dirty diaper pants!

Anonymous said...

guess I am the only fool around here who actually likes the pants.

Ooh! Can't wait to see the rear view of these awful pants, does it look like diaper butt? Thanks for the morning laughs!

LLA - saw in your tweet that LLL was discontinuing STILL pants? Why would they do this after all the complaints when they discontinued them the first time? I tried on the STILL II pants and found they fit tts and looked really nice. Thanks for all you do for us addicts!!!

I haven't bought anything in at least a month, which is not normal for me. I just haven't cared for any of the new designs, and anything I have liked recently got bad reviews for sheerness, etc. Boo. I've been wearing a lot of my "vintage" lulu (2010 and prior), and people have been asking me about it. Nope, they don't make it the way they used to, that's for sure!!

On a happy note, I'm really loving Splits59 and Athleta. I used to think Athleta was too granola-y, but they've really stepped up their game. I live in Dallas, and an Athleta store is supposed to be opening here soon. Yay! Their free shipping takes forever, so it will be nice to have a store nearby. We're also getting a Lorna Jane. I've heard mixed reviews on that one....does anyone out there like them? Thanks :)

@ anon 9:50 am - that is a rumor I saw. I think it is true about the Gather and Crow crops, though. I saw a bunch on markdown at my store - all colors. I am hoping it isn't true for the Stills since the full on luon ones finally feel like my old Still Pants.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 11:10 pm - very true. I'm sure someone will rock it. It seems more of a Lab item, though, than a mainstream lululemon customer item.

Did you buy the black, cashew we are from space print wunder unders in crops? That makes me so excited. Love the WUP photos but realistically would get so much more wear out if the crops. I will be on the lookout!

I picked up a pair of the wee stripe cashew/soot/black pants at my local store in Ontario two weeks ago. Today they had the same pattern in a crop. I am suprised they have crops too. I almost wish I had waited ans got the WUC even though I do love the pants. Im telling myself it would be bad to buy the crops too. They have all sizes available in both pants and crops. Maybe I will luck out and get a pair of crops on markdown!

Anyone remember "diaper" pants from the late 80s, early 90s? Also known as MC Hammer Pants.

Yep---HAMMER TIME!

How nasty. Looks like you have to wear them to conceal a misdeed in your pants! Some of this stuff is getting ridiculous. These are clothes intended for physicality. Just nonsense.

anon @11:04am: I also think Athleta is appealing considering their price point as well. However, I didn't find the fit quite as flattering as LLL. As for Lorna Jane, I don't own any clothing from them, but I remember walking out of their store thinking price was way overpriced for the fit and the quality of their fabrics. I wasn't going to pay $59 for a cheap feeling loose yoga top. Just my 2cents. :-)

got a pair of tech mesh tights this morning around 6am!!! black in my size.... so excited! they randomly upload stuff some early morning... pays to stalk the website... lol!

Went to my store today...no new pants, no new dress, had the fugly floral jacket, no cotton crops, basically the same boring stuff. They had a ton of the gather and crow crops on sale in all waistband prints. I managed to get a pair of those in black. Ed said they are discontinuing them.
I don't know why my store doesn't seem to get any hot items any more. Maybe they are a poor performer?

Anonymous said...

and..... There it is!! Lol!

Anonymous said...

I'm a fool who likes these but wouldn't buy them. I like when lulu comes up with alternative things, must be boring for the people who design and make their pants, most are variations on the same thing and they need to have new ones week after week. Just a thought.

Anonymous said...

LLA- did you size down on the full on luon still pants? I'm not sure what size to order. Thanks!

Anonymous said...

Today I tried on the new full-on still pant in my TTS 4 and they were tighter in the bum than my 3 pairs of size 2 stills. I did not like the look as the legs are quite loose.

I tried on and purchased the After Asana pullover in telemark black as it was on MD.. Not terribly exciting but I liked it and I live in basicblack pieces. The price was right and there doesn't seem to be much potential for quality issues (don't have to worry about sheerness or pulls!).

I also tried on and purchased the dress in my TTS. Feels like the old swiftly fabric - not too delicate but has nice stretch to it. The angel blue was very pretty but it's not a colour I normally wear so I opted for the light grey. It fit my 38 week pregnant body perfectly, without stressing the fabric, in my pre-pregnancy TTS thanks to the ruching... So... I don't know how well it will work for others!

LLL has reshot a lot of the photos recently.

Hi it's 11:52 AM, yes the crops are the wee space black, cashew. I got them in Halifax.

I don't remember from reading this blog when and if they came out, lol. I thought they did and I had no chance. It was my good luck I guess to scan those pants and crop shelves. I find them quite soft and loved them on.

On Still pants: I did not buy any in this last release. I bought a back up pair a couple of years ago when they discontinued the earlier version. I only like black anyway. I'd love a heathered grey or black, but they haven't done that in the last release. I saw Still pants and Gather & Crow on markdown as well.

They are in ON stores in the crops and pants. I ended up getting the pants but the crops were available too.

I tried these pants on today and I LOVE them! They are very light and will be great for an intown/downtown anusara class. I sized down once, pulled the legs up a bit and tied it a little off to the side. BTW ABSOLUTELY ZERO droop in the back, not skin tight tho. They look like a Rick Owens design! Bought the cadet and charcoal.
You're right--they aren't for everyone--but that's part of the appeal;)

Saw the secret garden jacket and it's much better in person! Reminds me of a Betsy Johnson print and the jacket style is cool and fits nicely once you tighten the string to cinch the waist a bit. Also was a size down item for me. That print (in that jacket) seems to look best on the younger ladies. (20's)

Without the tie on part, these pants are actually nice.

@ anon 5:18 pm - I went down one size in the Cadet STill pants.

I really wanted to purchase these, but was not sure if they were cute or disgusting (Justin Bieber pants). Also, if they turned out looking bad on me I would not be able to return them because they are on sale. Thanks, Addicts! You just saved me $70!
