Mail Day: Pow Pink Light Cool Racerback vs. Pow & More

A real quick photo showing the new Pow Pink Light Cool Racerback on the left and an older Pow CRB on the right. The colors are very, very close - as expected. I'm not sure whether I will keep the Pow Light. Truth be told, I like Pow Light a bit better than regular Pow.

Secret Garden Inspire Crops
Petite Fleur Inspires
Not So Petite Fleur Denim Luon Wunder Under Crops

I ordered both the Secret Garden and Petite Fleur Inspires Monday night and got them today. The website didn't note this but both are made of full-on luxtreme (formerly known as Iplux).  They definitely feel thicker and more compressive than my luxtreme and power luxtreme Inspires. I am sorely tempted to keep the Secret Garden because they are sold out, however giant flowers on my large thighs just make them look larger so they'll be going back. However, I really like the Petite Fleur Inspires and once I take a good look at them in the three-way mirror at the store and everything looks ok from the rear view (I couldn't see my underwear in my home mirrors), I think I will keep them. They are neutral and go with all my solid colored Swiftly and other run tops.

I agree, the secret garden inspires are pretty in theory, but I don't like the idea of huge flowers on my thighs.

Ok lovely lulu addict you need to post a pic of you in the secret garden inspires!!!! Please. It's always great to see you trying on:)

I just received my SG inspires. I love them! Now will I wear them outside? The action photo is what sold me. I prefer the SG print in a bottom vs a top. I got the SG speed short too which I LOVE!

SC print look great with black/heathered black.

I think its a myth that the big flowers make thighs look big, in fact they probably look good on you. I would steer clear of the petite fleur though... those don't flatter anyone I;ve seen them on, but agree with poster, post pics please!

What is the name of the stripe pattern in the bang buster in the top image? I have a pair of gather and crows I want to sell with that on the waistband!

I really loved my petite fleur inspires as well - I found them more compressive than anything else in my closet and they were completely opaque, even with hot pink undies, which I'm not sure I can say about the rest of my lulu. I'm keeping mine!

Re: Secret Garden, I'm a girly girl and I love it. If you like the print you should wear it, and don't worry about those flowers on your thighs!

I bought the Secret Garden FTB bra. This is the most of the print I would wear and I like this bra for Bikram Yoga. There were only 2 size 6 to choose but I got the one with the best pattern lay, in fact it is perfect. Full bloom roses and the blue background at the front, with smaller roses and some thorns at the back. I examined some of the other sizes and this was not the case with some of the bras.

For the bra I'm picky but in crops you have so much material the pattern lay will probably be fine.

None of those patterns are appealing, unless in small doses! And that petite fleur print...yep, saw the same pattern in granite countertops at Home Depot the other day. Good luck with that!

Would POW PINK have color bleeding issue? I had a problem with other pink CRB (forgot the color code).

Thanks for the review!

I also don't think that the petite fleur is flattering at all. I think the secret garden is a much better option. I wish I had gotten a pair of the inspires in that color.
O.T I received my gather and crow crops and they are opaque and the stitching is really well done. I am glad I got them will wear them for yoga and walking on the beach.

The petite fleur inspires are labeled as *All Luxtreme so maybe that is the new name for *IPlux. The changing of the names of the fabrics is a bit frustrating because you are never quite sure what you are getting but at the same time I am glad they are improving their fabrics.

This is a general note, but I've been getting turned off by the snarky comments I've been seeing here lately. If a pattern isn't for you, it isn't for you. No need to say it's ugly or hideous or otherwise imply that anyone who likes and wears it is an idiot. Sheesh! Different strokes, folks.

I disagree on the petite fleur print...I didn't end up keeping my WUCs in this print, but I found them to be super flattering.

I just received the Secret Garden Run Inspires. Even at a Size 4 they make my thighs look big. I wish they would of made a smaller rose print. As for the Petite Fleurs... I have the WUC in Not So Petite Fleur Denim Luon and I love them. It is super flattering and slimming in my opinion.

I'm having the same internal debate in terms of keeping the Secret Garden Scuba Hoodie that I purchased. I have a lot of tops that would go with it and I think I like it. I'm just not sure I'm ready for something so bold because it is so much pattern. But unfortunately the smaller items with this pattern(speeds, pace rival skirt) are just not Lulu items that work for my body shape.

I think if I am hemming and hawing so much about the decision it's a sign I should return it but I then worry that I'll regret it and not be able to find it to re-buy. Ah, truly first world problems.

LLA I'm sure you look great in the Secret Garden print..I have big thighs and for them and wear them with pride. Life is too short to worry about what others think!

Secret Garden is pretty but it's also a print I think I may tired of sooner rather than later. At least, much sooner than the more neutral Petite Fleur.

I ordered the Lift and Seperate bra in light pow pink. Should I be worried about color bleeding? I tend to wear light neutral tops (white, gray).

@Luli Designs I *think* the 'all luxtreme' refers to the fact that it is luxtreme behind the knees- not mesh. But I could be wrong. :)

I also have difficult time deciding what's best for my body type whenever LLL comes out with various new prints and styles. Some ladies pull it off better and I'm fine with that. I can move on to my next item of interest and move on. Just my 2cents. :-)

@ anon 12:00 pm - that is how I interpreted "all luxtreme" - no mesh

Hi Rebbecca, I think the name of the print on the bangbuster is called Groovy Stripe. Hope it helps!

11:18 the current pinks from lulu do not run. I still soak and pre wash before wearing just to be 100% sure.
I ordered the same color lift and separate and can't wait to see it in person. The lift and separate is one of my favorite lulu items. I have 8 of them from the original to the latest versions and I wear them mostly for casual wear but I also do light workouts with them.
