Try On Reports

I tried on the new Roll Down Wunder Unders that people have been talking about. There are a few different flavors of these - there are black full on luon, heathered medium gray luon, and a cotton version in heathered black and heathered medium gray. I tried on the black full on luon and heathered black cotton ones today. I really liked both a lot. I wasn't sure about full on luon fabric when it first came out but the material used in the roll down Wunder Under crops is perfect - cottony soft, not shiny, not too compressive, good coverage, and decently opaque. I have a pair of full on luon Practice Daily crops and find the material wonderfully breathable. The fit of the Full On Luon Roll Down crops was TTS.

I know a lot of people are looking at the Roll Down WUCs in the hopes that the higher waist will smooth them a bit in the tummy area, or at least not give them Wunder Under muffin top, but I found the waistband on the full on luon ones rolled out a little right at the very top. I also found them a little too high on me - just over my belly button - when in the high rise position (I'm 5' 5"). You also lose the waistband pocket in these and that is a must for me because that's where I stash my ipod when at the gym. The logo is at the waistband on these. However, my complaints are very nit-picky and I think this style is a winner in the black full on luon fabric.

As far as the cotton Heathered Black Roll Down Wunder Under goes, I loved those and took them home with me. I am a huge fan of the new Practice Cotton fabric - it's opaque, has great coverage (i.e., smooths out dimples), breathable, pilling resistant, and super soft. It also doesn't bag out. I've worn my ombre Live Naturals a few times before I washed them and there wasn't any bagging. Practice cotton is awesomely comfortable. The waistband didn't do the rolling thing in the cotton on me. I found the fit TTS and you can size down for a more compressive fit and still have nice opacity and coverage.

I got my Fatigue Camo Cool Racerback in the mail today. The fabric has a high poly content and is on the shiny side but it's silky-feeling and breathable. The green tones in the tank are very pretty and I'm fairly sure I'm keeping this tank even though it's super trendy and I'm almost sick of green camo at this point. ;-)

I tried on the camo Forme jacket in the store today. The material has a high polyester content and is shiny. It's not scratchy and the greens are very pretty. I think it looks great in most every photo I've seen of it but I'm pretty sure I'd quickly get tired of a jacket in this print so I left it at the store.

I also tried on the Petite Fleur Forme jacket at the store and was surprised that it was a high poly fabric. I know the Not So Petite Fleur Wunder Under crops are made of the new denim luon so I expected the Forme to be matte denim. The jacket had a sheen and the print is muted in this fabric. It's cute enough and unique but I didn't love it on me so it stayed at the store.

I also tried the After Asana jacket on in the Not So Petite Fleur and really like the jacket style a lot. I also liked the print, too. The french terry is lighter than that used in the Scuba and a nice weight for the summer. I thought the fit was a figure hugging true to size. I definitely have my eye out for these in case the hit the markdown rack.

Shown with Heathered Black Roll Down Cotton Wunder Under Crops.
I tried on the After Asana pullover and liked it. The fabric and style is very comfy. I like how the back covers your rear but I don't love the side view where you can see the big difference in height between the front and back hems and that the hem on the back is rounded and the front is not. The fit is a roomy TTS. I liked this top well enough but $88 seems like a lot for a super casual sweatshirt top.

I tried on the Carry and Go pant in the Telemark Cadet blue material. I liked them and found them TTS. They came to about ankle length on me so I needed to roll them up to get the same look as the web model.

I got my black camo Wunder Under crops in the mail today. The print is more noticeable than is apparent in the photos. The denim material is on the thicker side and I couldn't see my underwear in my home mirror but I might bring them to the store with me to check myself out in the three way mirror. I am on the fence about keeping them since I have a ton of black crops already and I have been spending a lot lately. I'll have to play with them a little more with various tops tomorrow and think about it.

I also got my Wee Space Cadet Blue Forme Jacket today. I really like it - the material has no polyester in it and it soft and thicker. I want to try on a few more tops with it but I am leaning towards keeping it.

Hey. Is the WAFS Cadet Blue jacket TTS? I know they vary depending on colors, etc. Thanks!

Thanks for the reviews! I'm excited to get my cadet WAFS forme and would love to hear ways you try to pair it. How does it go with black bottoms in your opinion?

You are looking so great, I love when you post pics, you choose sizes that fit and flatter so I find that super helpful. I really love the beachscape crb on you, and the camo wup too, you should keep the pants!

@LLA, were the heathered black roll down cotton WUC released during the past 2 uploads or have they just been seen in stores so far? TIA and thanks for all the fabulous info--love your blog!

LLA, I want to give you a BIG THANK YOU for mentioning how much you love your FEETURE socks for running. I was wearing LLL socks and other brands but didn't love how they fit. Then I bought a pair of the FEETURE socks what a huge difference they make my,feet feel so good with the arch support and fit. Thank you!!

@ anon 5:15 am - I think it looks really nice with black but I think there is Soot in the space dye pattern with the blues, not black.

Thanks for the reviw of the WAFS Forme. I'm really excited to get mine...especially since it doesn't have a high poly content!

:( I haven't seen them in the stores yet. East coast shipping is crazy. I won't get mine until next Tuesday!

There is a typo on the camo forme tag... "sandex". lol

LLA - You look great. Love all your latest lulu picks. Also love all your advice.

LLA and @ anon 5:48 am - I too discovered FEETURES! socks about a year ago. Then shortly afterward saw you give a shout out to FEETURES! on your blog. Before that I wore other brands (Balega mostly), but FEETURES! are now my go to! :)

Love these tryon reports!

I went to the store at lunch and tried on several things myself. Sadly, the black camo crops didn't work out for me. Too bad because i loved the length and the print. I'm between a 6 and an 8 and I found the 6 to be a bit sheer and there were no 8s in stock.

I LOVED the After Asana jacket in the Not So Petite Fleur. My TTS 6 fit like a glove. Honestly, no LLL jacket has fit me that perfectly since my pop orange forme. I think the price point is pretty spot on so I scooped it up. I also got the fatigue flip your dog in size down.

I passed on the yogi anorak - it just fit weird on my pear shape. I also passed on the live natural bra. I really liked it - it was so comfortable and fit really well (size 6 34A), but I found it to be priced too high. If it ends up on sale, i'll probably get one in several colors.

Now, i need to stop logging on to your blog and discovering pretty new things!

More quality issues! My black camo WUC arrived and the seam at the front crotch area immediately started unraveling!!! I tried them on for 10 seconds, the tags are still on even. So disappointed!!!

Went to two store today in search of a couple items. They didn't have what I was after (of course) I did get the fatigue wee crops. Not sure if I will keep them or not. I didn't care for the Bali breeze with them on me. If I can find an army green tank i might keep them. Really wanted the milky way's. On another note, athleta is opening up about four doors down from lulu.

i might be trading my camo for that space dye forme! looks great!

lol @ sandex. sounds scratchy. :P

I purchased the WU Pant Roll Down in black Full On Luon online and was really disappointed. I put them on to wear all day long and found that they started to slip down my waist and hips so that there was all that extra crotch space like a cheap pair of nylons. I think the band isn't taut enough.

I was also annoyed because the description online said that they were supportive and I didn't find that at all.

They felt okay at first and seemed like the right size. I got my normal size 8. I have the WU in High/Low Wee Stripe in an 8 and they are amazing and so comfortable. The fabric of the Full On Luon seemed really cheap and not soft to me, as well as attracting every little piece of dust. The description also said that they were soft. I wonder if the person writing the descriptions actually has the product in front of them, or maybe they are using old templates.

I second the question of "have the heathered black roll down Wunder under been uploaded yet in the US?"

Thanks in advance all:)

@ anon 1:30 pm - thanks for the performance review - good to know they'll slip down. I was wondering that about the waistband. They seemed snug enough on me at the store but I'm sporting a major food baby lately so figured they'd be a bit loose once I got rid of that.

How weird about the fabric not being soft because I thought the pair I tried on was very soft. However, I know I hated some of the early Skinny Groove pants I tried on in the full on luon when it first came out. I would not be at all surprised to know they used different batches of fabric for these crops.

@ anon 1:39 pm - The heathered black roll down WUCs have only showed up in stores so far and were not uploaded on the website.

LLA: Thanks for your reviews. I've never worn the high/low pants/crops, and was wondering of the fit. With my regular WUC's I do have to adjust my waist few times during yoga.

Were the ombre live natural crops ever sold online? I would like to get a pair of them but don't want to resort to eBay.

I like the WAFS cadet blue Forme jacket, but I already have two Forme jackets, so if it's still around in few weeks, I will have to bite the bullet. ;-)

Just wanted to let anyone interested know that the black camo energy bras and flow ys are online now in the US. Not sure if you know this but thought I'd let anyone interested know.

I have a question for you ladies! Does anyone have a rehearsal long sleeve or a tea lounge that they don't wear in a size 4 or 6. I've been trying to get my hands on one but I absolutely refuse to pay the prices on ebay!!

Feel free to email me

Also do we know if the cotton fatigue green wunder unders have made it online ? Did I miss out!?

LLA, thanks so much for the fit report!I always rely on your posts and everyone's comments coz I have no way to see in person before purchase.
Do you think cotton WU will be uploaded on the website? I really love the material as I purchased live natural pants, but that doesn't fit me well. Especially the elastic band and higher waist :( WU would be great and fit me well. I really need one for spring!!

I found full on luon is stiff and stretch out quickly around my knee, also slide down a bit around crotch area. I have to pull them up after each asanas. Clearly the elasticity is different from old luon. I own size 4 for both old luon and full on, so this is not about sizing issue.

I've been wearing Feetures sox for a couple of years now. I have very small feet that are prone to blisters, and the Feetures fit and prevent most of them from happening now. They are almost the only sox I run in (I'll do occasional shorter runs in Smart Wool running sox when it's really cold out).

Also, I echo the sentiments of others, LLA. You are looking great! Thanks for posting the pics of yourself--the jacket fits you perfectly, and I love the
WAFS cadet!

I got the After Asana jacket tonight in the Not So Petite Fleur whichI have been absolutely lusting after since seeing on here recently. I LOVE it but had to size up to the 8 even though I am a 4 or 6 in tops - it's form fitting and even though I'm vertically challenged (5' 0"). I find that the hoodies (rather than Forme jackets) don't fit across my bust unless I size up. Almost bought Forme in same pattern but it looked different than the After Asana - had to pass.
Have to admit I was a little irritated because I picked up a CRB I had shortened and specifically asked for the leftover (substantial amount!) fabric - ticket asked them to pin it to my top - they didn't comply with my request. What skin is it off their back - I already paid for the whole top?!?!?

If you're a size 8, I can angel the Ombré for you. My store still has them. I'm in California

I am very new to your blog. I really like it. However, I have one question. In what stores are all of these new products? Canada, US? I went in my Central Ohio store last week, and the sales associate knew nothing about those milky way crops. What the heck!?! I don't even see much of this stuff on the LLL website. Where is it?

Lisa Ladouceur said...

I picked up the After Asana hoodie in Black Telemark, it's lovely! I did size up as I put on a little weight so my usual Scuba 8 was too snug in the AAH. The 10 is nicely body skimming. I may live in the thing this summer!! Only thing I didn't care for was the pockets. Great for hands, but I can see keys and phone would just out easily.

@ anon 7:43 am - Ypu have to be very quick to get the hot items. The Milky Way WUCs sold out in hours when they were put on the website earlier this week (upload are Monday nights at 9:45 pm) - in fact the website crashed due to the demand. Most stores also sold out of them right away - they arrived in the US the week of February 25 - usually on the same day they arrived.

Darla said...

Anonymous @ 7:43, if you are in columbus and went to Polaris, they didn't get the milky ways in at all. Easton got them in and sold out right away. Polaris doesn't know if they will get them in or not. I was there yesterday. I usually try to go during the week and to yoga on Sundays to check out what new items they have. Both store seems to get in different stuff each week. No rhyme or reason to the shipments. I do know Polaris is expects the camo CRB this week. Sign up for the store product notifications via the web site.

i tried on both the roll down winder unders in black and the cotton grey. In a 4 which feels the best, they were like panty hose. I didn't bother going up a size because my experience with all the sized up to avoid sheerness pants I have purchased in the last two years is that they creep down and I tug them constantly. i have taken to wearing in the flow crops. The waist on those slips a little but once you start to get a good sweat going, they stay in place. Also tried on the cotton roll down in a 4. Much more opaque. So so soft. I loved them but didn't have a use for them as they are all cotton and not super wicking. I have plenty of sheer bottoms to lounge around the house in.

anon @11:49, were you asking me? I'm a size 6. I'm in California but I just don't get to go into the store due to my schedule. If it gets uploaded online, I'm hoping to get one then... Thanks for your thoughts though!

Love the fit reports! I tried on the camo forme jacket (was surprised my store still had them in my size) and didn't like it at all. Too polyestery and shiny for me, and fit way more loose than my beloved old define jacket. I did pick up the Not So Petite Fleur After Asana jacket and absolutely love it! The fit is super flattering and cosy. The only con is the pockets, like someone else had mentioned. Too shallow for my liking and stuff will definitely fall out. I also got the luon roll down WUC in the mail and like them - they are very light weight and somewhat sheer, but I got them for casual wear in the summer so they fit the bill perfectly. Excited to receive the camo CRB, black camo WUC, and the WAFS cadet blue Forme in the mail soon, thanks LLA for your reviews!

I don't want to sound negative but that form is okay... I think defines flatter your body sooooo much better! Your bruised berry define is big now but maybe you can post for a trade... And find a size down?

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 9:50 pm - That is true, the Define does fit me a bit better but I really like the WAFS Cadet print. I still have a couple of weeks to think it over.
