The New Front Racer Tank - Super Short

Thanks to Ms. N. for this great comparison photo of the new Front Racer Tank laid on top of a Fatigue Cool Racerback. The May release Front Racer Tank was slightly longer by nearly an inch to the Cool Racerback. The new tag calls this length "hip length" but it isn't highlighted in the product name at the top, which it really should be since it's such a substantial change to the design. Either that, or call it the Front Racer II.

Previous version of the Front Racer tank on the bottom with a Cool Racerback on top.

wow shorter? big bummer and pass for me then!!! I hate tops that are any shorter than the crb, and that includes street wear as well.... Whats w/ these designers just itching to shorten the hemlines..... Bad move lulu!!!

I'm 5"0 short and pretty interested in this top. Variety in lengths is good :)

The tag says it's reversible… camo on one side and black on the other? I'm doubtful.. isn't thin Luon kinda THIN?
So It's dark green camo on side and unwittingly black camo on the other (when it's supposed to be plain black) ? :D
Anyway, gimme gimme more camo!

I second the "boo" to shorter length. I love the long front racer I have from last year. Hugs my curves and makes it very VaVaVoom! Was hoping to get another in a nice color, will pass on that now!

Like anon@10:02, I am only 5' tall as well and like the idea of a shorter length. I loved when they briefly had the shorter Swiftly tanks last year. I'm only 5' too, and it's a pain to get things hemmed all the time (especially when you want to wear them asap!--I have no patience, lol!)

Hi Robyn I just spoke with an educator over the phone and she said they figured out what the bug in their system is and that orders will be shipping out in 48 hrs.
What I am thinking about is that they haven't even charged my paypal account and if they can't keep track of the inventory, how do they know if they have enough products to fulfill all of the orders that were placed.

Loved the front racer from last year. I'm actually pleased with the new length. I'm 5'7" but I find the CRB length a bit long (I'm always rolling it under at the bottom), so a hip length for me is good. Have these been spotted in Canadian stores yet or US only?

I find lulu tops to be entirely too long and unflattering on me. This new shorter top shows promise.

Guys, please stop yelling at the poor social media reps on FB. It's misdirected, cringe-worthy entitlement and it makes me embarassed to be a fellow LLA.

Anyone actually received a shipping notice yet? They haven't added anything to WMTM this week either, makes me think the 'glitch', whatever it is, is still happening and they just said 48 hours in the last email to try and buy themselves some time.

I love how they're charging $6 more for shorter (ie less fabric) tank...

Maybe it's camo on the back and black on the front (or vise versa) so when you wear it with the racerback in the front it's black and racerback in the front it's camo???

Tried the front racer today. Length is perfect for me as a 5'1" person - goes past my hip covering my crotch. Also, the material is thicker and more luon-like than the regular CRB. It is not reversible in the sense of turning it inside out, but can be reversed so that the back can be worn in the front for a different neckline which I kind of liked!

The CRB is pretty long on me. Maybe it's because I'm short or short-waisted or something. I am happy to see the shorter length. By the way, my store in Thousand Oaks had a few CRB camo's left. I snagged a size 2 and am so happy that I passed on the ones on eBay. They also had the black camo WUP and the black camo FTB Wild bras, and I got those too. They also had the white Forme jacket, which I bought, but I'm returning that today because it will be just too hard to keep clean for me.

I didn't :( and I ordered Monday at 10 pm

The tank can be worn in reverse, not reversible...in this case means that it can be worn with the low scoop in back or front, not that the tank is reversible

The fb complaints are crazy. All the complaining and demands to have a gift card to compensate the poor souls that have to wait an extra week for their new clothes. It's embarrassing!

Not all of us care for super long tops. The CRBs have been getting progressively longer to the point that my latest one is like a minidress on me. I'll be glad to see shorter lengths.

@ anon 11:42 am - No kidding - the lululemon customer is super demanding.

Anonymous said...

@anon 11:42 - completely agree

Anonymous said...

i just agreed with anon @ 11:42am. the only thing i can add (and it's no excuse) but i think sometimes people just get frustrated b/c lll's responses are so irritating and canned, also just in general with any issue the way they word responses is always somehow with a tone of it's somehow the customer's fault or if not that, then they are doing a huge favor by fixing any issue.... it's always been that way, from sheer pants, to the wrong kind of sweat, to items not meant to be "sat in".... i think after a while people just get really frustrated and it comes out - that is still no excuse to be rude and after all it's just clothes, a few new items... there is so much more going on in the world than a new whatever from lll

It must be a huge glitch, not just the website, but the whole system.
IT problems are not easy to fix.

I have a feeling that they took in way too many orders and the system wasn't checking the true amount of products to match the many orders that went through.

We might be seeing a lot of cancellations of orders. I was really looking forward to the pacesetter skirt and lift and separate bra. I ordered those Tuesday, and it is now Friday.

I did not receive the email informing me that they were having issues.

I don't believe it is right to be rude however, LLL created their own monster.

OMG... Went over to see what everybody was talking about on the Facebook page. I understand people hate waiting for all their Lulu goodies but OMG!!! the entitlement people throw around! there are much more pressing things going on in the world...and all people can do is scream WHERES MY LULU!!!! Wow... Just when I thought humanity was evolving for the better, I went to FB and saw differently. Wow....just Wow!
:((( Sad.

I am 6' tall and live that the crb is long enough for me... Realistically I am way taller than average so I can't expect lulu to cater to me. It's great they have a variety of lengths for different bodies.

Anonymous said...

well for all you ladies liking the shorter hemlines if you want them longer your out of luck if you want them shorter all you do is for free get them hemmed BOOO lazy ladies and selfish at that!! I need them long and if they're too short i'm SOL!!! Makes me mad at you short folks saying rediculous things like too lazy to hem them and such!!!!

Anonymous said...

Wow, anon@4:43, such vitriol! Most of the Lulu stuff is plenty long with plenty of choices for taller people. How do you know whether or not people live far from a store or if they have family or work situations where they can't be making multiple trips to the mall? My goodness.

Anonymous said...

The problem is that hemming doesn't solve everything. The proportions and fit are tailored to a taller person so even with hemming, the item can look completely off on a shorter person. It's hardly selfish and lazy.

Anonymous said...

Agree with anon@6:59. Silhouette cuts are different for different lengths. It's not just a matter of chopping inches off the hem.

Anonymous said...

I think all the screaming lulu monsters just got me a $25 gift card! LLM making nice after my order is cancelled. That's a pretty nice gesture!

Anonymous said...

Anon@6:59, right on! The straps on tanks are too long, hemming the bottom does nothing for that! Proportions are important, not just length! Thank you (from a shorty)!

Anonymous said...

okay all you short sh..ts you always get your too short of tops lulu caters to you all since you all whine about hemlines too long for your shortness and such.... goood for you keep it up i don't give a rip to be honest i'm done ranting at you little people!!!!!

Anonymous said...

@8:06am glad that you recognize that you're ranting.

Yes, good that LLM is catering to, as you put it, "little people", I'll definitely buy more!
