Here to There Dress Photos & Try On Comments

Shown with the New School Jacket

Lots of interest in the new Here to There Dress. From what I can tell they are selling very quickly in stores - they were certainly in demand in my area and I saw several people take them into the dressing room when I was in the store. I've read that the new &Go line is only in 20 stores in the US. My local stores had the dress so I was able to try it on today. I thought the fit was TTS - the top is very fitted as you can see in these photos. The material is interesting and I don't quite know how to describe it. I guess it's like a thick matte luxtreme or maybe like a lighter weight softshell so it really holds it shape.

There was an issue with the price on the dress in last night's upload - the website had it listed at $198 and it actually rang up at that price but the tag says $128.

The bottom hem is cut not sewn. The logo is very visible on the gray dress.

The dress has a very substantial zipper pull, which you need since the dress is not easy to zip into or out of. I found the zipper very grabby so I needed to contort a bit to be able to zip myself in and out.

Lululemon's signature pocket within a pocket

I didn't think I would like the dress when I saw the first photos but it does have a flattering silhouette. As is the case with hot lululemon items, I decided to buy now and think later. A couple concerns I have with the material is whether it will pop back into shape after washing and how wrinkled it would get in a suitcase.

Did anyone who ordered the beachscape WU pants last night get a shipping confirmation today?

Snagged mine today at fashion island. I'm normally a 4 but decided to go with a 6 since the top on the 4 was pretty snug. The 6 fit much nicer. I got the black even though the grey is lovely I stuck to my Audrey Hepburn instinct :)

I also saw and tried on the dress today in my local Edmonton store. I initially didn't love the look in the pictures but it grew on me a bit in person, and the fact that it was not $198 helped. In the end I decided that it really is not my style as I like fitted dresses more and this is really flared out at the hips, so I didn't buy it. It is a cute dress though and I can see a lot of people enjoying it. These were going fast into the change rooms, so I'm sure they sold out by the end of day.

I agree with it being true to size. And LLA, the softshell is a good description for the material.

The puckering seams and pedestrian/outdated style make this a deal breaker for me. I can find too many similar looking dresses with the same flattering fit at better price points from asos, zara, even f21. I love that lulu is moving towards work, happy hour, post sweat cute and stylish clothing, however they have work to do in the fit and quality departments. I'm holding out until I see improved QC and unique pieces, true to the lulu I know of years past. Almost there, but not quite.

From what I am reading no one has received order or shipping confirmations. It's highly unusual. I usually get mine by 11 am when I order right at upload time, sometimes by mid-afternoon. I just checked and nothing yet.

LLA - thanks for keeping us posted on the shipping confirmation situation from last nights upload. I am not on Facebook or Twitter and get all my info from this blog.

It is so weird that no ones order has shipped, right?!? WTF is wrong with their tech platform?

I ordered new Surge 5" shorts for my hubby from the upload today. They are the first pair of men's Lulu shorts I've seen that have the gel pockets plus a zippered pocket (normally the men's shorts only have one zippered pocket, so I'm pretty excited!) They also had a cool elastic thing in the back you can thread your shirt through if you get hot and take it off, negating having to carry it around in your hand while you run. They were completely out of the black camo (which was my preferred choice), so I got him the black. I got confirmation email right away.

I hope my store gets the dress, I want to try it on!

It's strange because I have rec'd order confirm but not shipping :/

Agreed. It's so easy to find better constructed dresses or at least a cheaper price point if not as well constructed for this type of dress. I'm glad Lulu is experimenting more with transition/street wear but this dress misses the mark for me. I especially hate that puckered seam down the front of the dress. It makes the dress look cheap.

@ anon 9:28 pm - I just checked my order status and it still says processing.

They had the dress at my store today. I didn't even look at the price when I tried it on. As I was leaving the dressing room, the dressing room attendant was pushing me to hurry up and buy the product, which I was already intending to do. But she keep nudging me to the the cashier saying you have to buy this now. I didn't understand till I was leaving she came up to saying the price of the dress is a mistake at $128 & that I am the last person in the store to get the dress at that price. She said they are changing the price, but she couldn't tell me, that's why she keep nudging me to buy the dress. Before I left I looked at the remaing dresses hanging and sure enough they had put a sticker over the $128 price with the correct price of $198. So happy to have saved $70. So lululemon is aware the problem and has changed it

@ anon 10:09 pm - Wow! At $128 I feel the dress is very nice value but it's way over priced at $198. Glad I only paid $128.

I don't understand how there can be so many pricing issues. There was another item earlier this year where the price was raised after it had been released and the LLL remark back was that they have the right to alter prices. That just seems really insane to me and maybe it's because I'm not following any other stores such as BR or GAP so closely as I follow LLL so maybe that sort of thing happens at other stores as well. Anyone?

@10:09 pm = what an awesome ed!

It looks like a nice dress but I'm not going after it. I have waaay too many dresses, including ones that suit me similarly to this one.

It's offensive that they do this price "correction" thing and jack up the price. It really does not help their reputation and only highlights how they seem to always screw something up! I agree it's not worth $198. Lucky those who did get it a the lower price.

I think there's glitch in their ordering system. Last Tuesday morning after upload I placed two order about 10 minutes apart. I got a confirmation for 1 of them almost a day later, the other one kept saying "processing" on my Lulu account. I finally called and they told me they both had shipped, and gave me the tracking number for the one that I didn't get confirmation of.
I would suggest calling to make sure your order went through.

I'm super interested in this dress... But... That kind of neckline is not usually flattering on people who are on the top-heavy side. any comments? I am gigantically pregnant so trying it on is a no-go.

Also, what about back fat issues?

I love full skirts that have pockets so that feature definitely has me drooling.

Anonymous said...

Ms. addict, why would you buy the dress if you didn't absolutely love it?

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 6:49 am - It wasn't a matter of not loving it but not really knowing how I would use it, what I would wear it for. And, to be brutally honest, whether I could pull it off.

Anonymous said...

@anonymous at 6:36 - thanks for reminding me that i can't wear that kind of neckline in a tank! makes the girls look way too saggy. i like the look on all of these ladies, but wonder also if it would be too short for my 46-yr-old self. would be such a perfect, easy, throw-on dress, if not for the price tag and the above. and i HATE when stores don't honor the marked price.

I left a comment before 7:00 am pst about the online price adjustment and it seems to have disappeared into the ether. I received the confirmation it would be posted after blogger approval. Weird :/

Seems to me if you have that many questions then it's not the garment for you. Spend your money on something else you'll really wear.

Wow, these gals make this dress look super cute in the black. Not liking the gray at all though.

It looks kind of short to me though and the price tag make it a no go. I'd rather spend it on some cuter casual summer dresses from Title 9 or Athleta, who IMHO really know how to do casual wear.

Picked up the &go dress in the grey color - I'm between a 6 and 8 (8 in tanks) and had to size up to a 10 due to tightness in the armpit/chest. Tag said $128 (Chicago store) - rung up at $198 and the ed immediately adjusted down to $128. Crazy if other stores are marking it back up!!

This dress looks lovely in the pictures shown here. However, I'm not into it since I don't have the figure to pull if off. I also don't like the unfinished hem.

I still haven't received shipping confirmation on my order placed on Monday. Still says processing on my status.

I like the top of the dress, but not fond of the pleated/flare bottom. It looks great on the models so I may have tried it on for $128, but with the price tag increasing to $198 it is totally not worth it.

@Anon March 18, 2014 at 10:09 PM — That's so weird. I literally just bought the dress from my local store 20 minutes ago; The tags on all dresses on the rack said $128, and while the dress actually scanned through at $198, the cashier price-corrected it to $128 immediately without even mentioning it. When I said how thrilled I was that I was cheaper that shown online, he said that the online and barcode price of $198 were the mistakes, and the dress was actually meant to be sold at $128. I hope the customers that are paying $198 will be given price adjustments to the lower price—It's quite unfair if different locations are treating the discrepancy differently.

I agree, I would like a Hem at the very least. Also don't want to wash it and the zipper to pucker.

Jen M-- There is definitely confusion with protocol. Two stores near me both immediately marked the dresses up to 198, and said the 128 was a misprice, but that was yesterday so maybe corporate changed their mind since then.

Thank you Anon of March 19, 2014 at 9:40 AM for your comments about &go dress sizing. While I am consistently a size 8 in tanks and pants, I managed to find one last dress in my local store (Palo Alto), but alas, it was a size 10. After trying on, it seemed to fit nicely and I found it to be a really cute style on, but I wondered if an 8 would have fit me better. Since there was no 8 to try, I was left to wonder. Thanks to your comments, I feel much better about my decision to bring home the size 10.

I can see why this dress is popular but I don't understand the price. $198 was ridiculous, $120 is doable but I don't like that they treat this as a technical item still by sewing a line right smack in the center, also using zigzag stitching, which could mean they were piecing it together and the box pleats are just unflattering for me. I also don't like the fact that the pleats are fighting its natural fold. The material is heavy so there will always be a problem with this trying to open and lay outwardly. Not good enough for me.

Two things about the dress: I bought the black in my store and it was marked at $198. At the register, the educator marked down to $128. I also ordered the grey online - it was $198. I got in touch with Lulu via the chat on the site today and they said that they hadn't sent out the dress yet (usually I order on Monday and receive on Weds)because they were adjusting the price. Interesting!

To Anon @4:40 - I'm glad I was helpful! The eds at my store told me that they all sized up too - if you have a bust it is snug on top. Sounds like the 10 was also the right size for you :)

Our Cleveland, Ohio store never seems to get the limited edition pieces, and this Here to There dress sold out so quickly on line. I ended up paying $250 on E-bay, so I had better like it or it will be resold.

I too, have had a problem with ordering the peplum tank. Its been days and they still say "processing". Just got notice today of the malfunction at LLL.

Mar 18 - I ordered the dress in black.
Mar 20 - I got an email that there were problems and I would not get my delivery on time.
Mar 20 - I got an email a bit later that the problem was solved.
Mar 22 - I don't live close to Toronto but we just happen to in the city for the day so I stopped by a Lululemon where there was one black dress in my size. I didn't pick it up since I had one coming soon.
Mar 22 - I got home and Lululemon had sent me an email that my order had been cancelled with no explanation. SERIOUSLY!?
There was a 2nd email with a $25 egift card.
Mar 23 - Called the Lululemon store in Toronto to beg them to hold the dress for me. I drove down to the store to pick it and used the $25 gift card.

While I got the dress and I do like it, the experience was a big negative.
