Denim Milky Way Print Has Hidden Lululemon Symbol

There was a time when most (all?) lululemon prints had the little 'A' symbol hidden somewhere in the print. I used to get a kick searching for them but then they disappeared from most prints. It gives my lulu-geek heart a little flutter to see a "hidden lulu" (as I like to call them) in this print.

Glacier Lace has the hidden lulu

Citron Tinted Canvas - not such a hidden lulu

Unicorn Tears had them

Black Roses had them.

Gulf Undulation print was made up of the little 'A' symbol

Multi Up and Down print (don't judge) had them in the flower centers.

at any rate. cool. :)

Love it! But somehow reminiscent of the "6's" found in Damien's hair at the end of the Omen. Lol

The symbol for lululemon is omega, not an A. It's the last letter of the greek alphabet. It's often used to denote the last, end or ultimate limit of a set.

@aon 5:27 pm and 7:21 pm - The logo does look like an omega BUT, per the lululemon website -----

"naming the company
The lululemon name was chosen in a survey of 100 people from a list of 20 brand names and 20 logos. The logo is actually a stylized "A" that was made for the first letter in the name "athletically hip", a name which failed to make the grade."

You know, I AM fairly familiar with the brand. :P

artistically hip getting the "no" was a good choice. not catchy.

i'm surprised that it's not an omega. it definitely looks like one to me. it makes sense, too. omega is way cooler.

i'm guessing that corporate is stating that, as they probably weren't allowed to use the omega symbol as their logo.

omega watches probably owns some rights to its use or something.

@7:21pm oh look! A know it all that doesn't "know" it all. :p haha

Super OT - Anyone see the ebay listing for the camo speed shorts that someone posted on the LLL fb page? That seller is selling 12 pairs. 12. For $100 a pair. And they had the gall to list them as OMGSOLDOUTRARE! .... Are you effing kidding me? I'm almost certain these sellers are regular lurkers of this blog and other blogs. So much for asset protection, lululemon...

My camo bra has big brown lulu symbol on it too.

Interesting it's back. Good eye!

Of course LLA is correct on the history. Over time it is the media/reporting that has commonly referred to it as an omega symbol. Omega transliterates as "o".

Lol, LLA, you know your cult's history through and through! Hidden logos, I love it! So if we play Beattles songs backwards, will there be some hidden "Buy Lulu" chants? After all, they just had the 40th anniversary of the British Invasion, and people are playing their songs again! Could there be some hidden, subliminal messaging? I think I'll use that excuse with my hubby. "I'm sorry honey, I really didn't want all those WU's, speed shorts and that Fo Drizzle coat, but they were playing 'Yellow Submarine' at the mall today..."

It appears more like omega than alpha to me too. Omega is a good description for that part of the company's history that filled their wallets rather than serve the customer. Alternatively, some who don't know the brand have asked me why I have the Leo symbol on my clothes.

Interesting! Without giving it much thought, I always thought it looked like a woman's head (the outline of her hair flipping out at the bottoms) which of course is ridiculous since they also sell men's athletic wear. Nice to know the history. Love this blog LLA!

@ anon 7:04 am - lol, cult. I am not at all conditioned to want the latest and greatest, especially because it is "scarce" and everyone else wants it. That is not me, no siree. :P

I usually call the logo an omega, too, in conversation because it totally looks like one but it's officially supposed to be an "a".

The lulu symbol an A? I doubt it...Officially to the cattle that is but to the insiders its something else entirely ;)!!!!! NO one will ever know for sure since we the cattle arn't "in THE CLUB"!!!! go ahead and bash me for my belief or my hypothesis i don't give a rip i've learned a thing or two w/ age: "Its not what people don't know that hurts most. Its what they do know that ain't so" Will Rogers quote..... its so true too! Symbols are all around us and usually have powerful meanings and the "official" meanings are not their "true" meanings et al.

LLA, Remember the cute "fatbird" print? The logo's on the fatbirds! I also love prints with hidden logos, and I also have all the prints you showcased here. Some are in different styles but one identical...the Deep V Multi Up and Down print. ;)

yes...think those little hidden symbols are just fun. I checked my new milky way WUC's and there are 4 of them. One on front waistband. But the real funny is the other 3 are in the crotch area due to the fabric's pattern distribution and seaming. Wow! Talk about power to the she!! lol!! Also, Blurred Blossom had LLL symbols too...have the CRB.

To Anon @12.14

You can imagine whatever conspiracy theories you want to sweetie. The truth is out there, no it really is, on the interwebs, in reality...

Just had my order through.

I love the CRB in beachscape multi, I think I was very lucky with my pattern placement.

I wore it teaching today and all of my students told me how pretty it was. Ok the average age was about 10 so that might not be a big plus, but I think it looks good. It's a bit bigger than my Ziggy Wee September print and all of the other size 4's I have so the pattern doesn't stretch to the point where the white shows through. It is very slippery and not very breathable though so I won't be wearing it much on warm days, which is a shame as it's a very pretty print.

I am keeping it, unlike my Flip the Dog Tee which is going back. If you're less than a size 6 this probably won't really work well for you, I'm a size 4 and sized down to a 2, it's still so big that it's just huge on me. I love the concept, but when Lulu makes outsized items it really leaves us small people out of the loop, a size 0 might have worked, but a 2 is still too big.

@1107
UGH. Some people. Lulu's "asset protection" is a joke. They're going after people who sell from their own USED collection but let's stuff like this go? Way to go Lulu.

lla " tin foil Hat"???? NIce thanks for the insult I appreciate that. Means i'm at truths door..... You don't need to post this btw this is for you.....lla, love this blog and i don't care about the bash honestly used to it i know i'm quite right and okay w/ the fact that most arn't!!!

I think of the symbol as OHM. The letter A definition is kind of silly.
That multi up and down print is one of my favorite I still have a lift and separate bra with that pattern that I use quite often even though it is falling apart.

Don't forget the hidden A's in the Black Retro Camo! I can see them in your most recent post on 3-4-2014, 11:01 a.m., last pic, a "...comparison of black Retro camo from two years ago to the newest Fatigue Green Savasana Bangbuster."
:)
