Bust a Move Commuter Line

Blech, my gift card will remain still safe in my wallet. I believe this line is called the Bust a Move line and it's the commuter line that was on line but is now in the stores. Yay. Where are the rest of the Baroque Blue items for the gym like a solid CRB and Forme jacket?

The only item I liked in these photos, a Baroque Blue Sweat Once a Day bag.

That jacket has been out for a least a couple weeks. Sold out on the US side and almost sold out on the Canadian side. I guess maybe the stores are just getting them in now?

Ahh - you are right. It was totally forgettable to me. I'll update my post.

First of all, thanks so much for all of your hard work. I love your blog. :)

I agree -- I really want a solid Baroque Blue Forme and CRB. I have been waiting.

I feel as if there have been so few solid cool racer backs lately, especially in newer colors. (I already have bleached coral and fresh teal.)

I would have snatched up CRBs in raspberry, deep zinfandel and winter orchid. Of course I've completely given up hope on those options, though I still have my fingers crossed for a baroque blue CRB & Forme.

Sadly, since I'm only 5'3", the Nice Asana jacket is not an option for me. (Indeed, I need to get most of my lulu tanks and pants hemmed.) Do you think the new yoga jacket would be too long for me -- if the US ever gets it?

Once again, I truly appreciate all that you do! :)

This has to be the most ugly jacket that LLL has ever made. Overall it is just awful and I could care less that it is selling out. What is with the double layers at the bottom? It's as though they designed it too short and slapped on an extension of other material. The peplum bottom - gross! What is the deal with this? Always a stupid peplum lately. Ick, just ick.

ohmyword! that blue SOAD bag is awesome!!!! (i have a purse that color.) that bag is FAB!

In person, this jacket is even worse than what you're seeing here.. I ordered it in black and it was so odd and unflattering. Too many zippers and the bottom peplum adds a good 2-3 extra inches to your waist... just what every woman wants, right? It's also super pricey, $158 if I remember correctly.

From the front with the zipper up, that biking jacket looks like something that would be sported by Dr. Evil. Also looks like it could be a pet hair magnet. Good thing Mr. Bigglesworth is hairless!

I bought two pairs of the Bust. A Move pants and I love them! I am actually wearing the black ones right now. The jacket is an easy pass for me though.

I would so have loved for there to have been a crbs in raspberry and deep Zinfandel. They are both such beautiful colors and I think it was such a loss for them to have not had those two colors in a crb.

Those things just look uncomfortable

Phew...safe again.

I totally agree with anon 3:21! I was desperately waiting for a solid raspberry and solid deep zin CRBs!! Good lord the released every other item in raspberry why not a crb? Sometimes I think the lulu design team selectively AVOIDS making certain colors in CRBs because they want people to buy other items they normally wouldn't if a crb had been available in that color.

I don't understand the draw of that bag. It looks like a royal blue bowling bag.

I want an angel blue CRB, but would also welcome the zin, orchid, and raspberry. Love them- wear one just about every single day, and as a teacher the solids are more versatile than the stripes!

I don't mind the Commuter line, but not a "must have" for me at the price points. I haven't seen the jacket in grey or the pants (at all) in my Canadian stores (was just there today). However, they are online. The pants look similar to the Urbanite pant with some "moto" stitching. Hopefully Lulu designers will be displaying a bit more creativity with upcoming product.

Ha ha ha ha anon 3:34: you nailed it that jacket is hideous just plain nasty!!!! and i agree w/ all of you stylish lady's about the solid crb's i wanted it in deep zin so bad all the other tops in that color missed the mark non of them a-line they all bunch at the belly area unflatteringly and i don't have a prob in that area even and the tops made me look horrible! anyhow i'm really tired of no solid crb's and then when they come out they are ditto colors from last year or colors so similar to ones they just did its like "why"???? i sometimes think there is a conspiracy w/ the design team too, like they want us to buy other designs destined for the wmtm categorie! O-well it surely saves me from spending on lulu for sure and it makes me look at other lines! I really was hoping for a nice deep burgandy/cranberry color but no no no no red for lulu this season instead they go w/ colors that bombed last season like that light teal and more and more blues like cornflower which i like but come on we don't need them constantly you know? ho hum i'm bummed!!! signing off now!

Hi, LLA, thank you so much for you blog. It's amazing and I have read it religiously for years. You provide very thorough and accurate info on the lulu products. Kudos! I have a practical question for you and any other fellow blog followers. I need a warm hat because I'm always freezing. I have a few of lulu's older hats from 2012 and 2011. I really like the "Keepin it Cozy" toque currently on the website. But it's final sale and not avail at any of the OC stores to my knowledge. I hate itchy wools. Does anyone know if this is an itchy, scratchy wool or a soft, cozy wool? Perhaps some of you on the East Coast have worn it and can offer guidance. I don't want to get stuck with a $$ hat I can't return. Many thanks!

ok, seriously enough of the lizard, scale type layered flappy bits and ruffles. I mean I love Downton Abbey as much as the next person but really....time and place people, time and place. Who likes those ruffles? Short jackets that puff out and make a coconut rear end look like the back end of a bus? That would be a no thanks from me. Nice idea, just needs some major tweaking.

The toque is awesome and soft - not itchy at all :)

hi anon 10:25,east coaster here!
I have the keepin it cozy toque and it is extremely soft and warm, not itchy at all, I absolutely love it. you wont regret buying it. hope that helps!

I went toque crazy this year and bought five. I have two teenage girls who received toques in their stockings as did I and I have to say we all like the warmth and they are not itchy. I am about to wash one this morning that is cream color, if it doesn't wash up well I will get back to you. I love the cream, black with pop of pink, down fall is it will pick up any foundation you have on your forehead. I love all our new hats.

LLL designers need to get back to simplicity and efficiency. Clothes can have details but this is too much.

All this talk of a the legendary scarcity model, I find it laughable lately. They've made so much junk in the past couple of years that has gone to wmtm or straight to the warehouse. It's just wasteful and definitely bad business sense. They should get back to making really great stuff that people do actually want and sells out.

OT - does one designer work on an item (a jacket, for example) or is it a team of designers? If it was one designer for an item and they started to state who it is, I wonder if that would make a difference? (Who designs ugly and who does not.) Not something like a WU pattern, those are a staple, but a run crop, a top etc.

6:24, you are probably right about lulu avoiding making CRB's in popular colors so you have to find something else to buy. Speaking for myself, I don't always have extra money lying around to spend on lulu, but I do know that if a color I really, truly love comes out, I could just splurge on the CRB so I have something. There's always a method to their madness.

wow the stripe baroque blue speed tight has really bad reviews, coz it's reported the stripes are only on the waist, not the entire legging. Is this true? Last time I checked it was not in my store yet but already soldout online. Does anyone have first hand knowledge on this pants?

Anonymous said...

A mix of simplicity and ruffles/details is what makes LLL special if you ask me. I like both. : )

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 9:39 am - I agree. The commute line is not to my taste at all but I appreciate LLL's effort to be distinctive.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 9:10 am - I believe that is true. The photo showed a striped tight, all over, but people are getting solid colored legs with only a striped waistband.

Echoing all the other comments, I too would have loved to see a solid raspberry, DZ, or winter orchid CRB.. Or at least a power Y? I love power Y's for yoga. So disappointing!! Those 3 colours and surge/angel blue were the best! They should have released at least one of those 3 colours in a CRB/power Y?! :(

Hi 6:24 and Sarah -- I'm the person who left the comments about solid CRBs.

And yes, I forgot to mention coveting Canada's angel blue racerback as well; I have a lightly heathered define in that color which I love.

Come to think of it, I'd add guava lava (nice because it's strong yet not neon) to my personal wish-list of CRBs.

In truth, no matter how desperately I yearn for fresh colors of solid CRBs -- which I too find more useful than patterned or striped ones -- I rarely buy the other styles of tanks in a desired color. I've learned through my past mistakes; I just don't reach for built-in bra tops since they pinch me.

Of course everyone is different. My friend with a narrow rib cage loves the the tanks I find suffocating.

In any case, I hope everyone has a great evening!

Thanks again for the blog!

I'm on the side of simplicity. But the over the top detailing at some point will diminish the brand. I used to compare Lulu to a BMW-highly engineered, body mapped, high quality product.

These over the top recent designs are not good for the brand and I never see them out and about on real people. I'm not even interested in any of the markdowns because so many of their recent items are just a bit off on fit or fabric or WAY off with ruffles up the bum (literally and figuratively.)

It used to be about quality, not quantity. I hope the quality designs, fabrics, and construction return soon, without that they have nothing.
