Heathered Medium Gray Wunder Under Pant Roll Down (Update)

New Heathered Medium Gray Roll Down Wunder Under Pant.

Update - these are cotton. They also have the bar tacks at the bottom where you "hem" them youself by cutting them off. However, I'd probably have my store put a proper hem on them.

2nd update - Hold the phone! These may or may not be cotton. There are two versions out - one a cotton one and one a luon one (yay!).

That is the only photo I've seen of that jacket the looks good. She makes it work and look great.

If I buy those crops will I be that stunningly beautiful? Sheesh. They need this girl on the website, not the super slim model with messy hair.

What is the difference between the Wunder under Hi Lo and the Wunder Under Roll Down? Thanks!

Do these have a cuff on the bottom?

@12:30: no, there is no cuff on WUs, she just folded it, probably because it was too long.
And I agree, she is beautiful and athletic, and I would rather see her modelling athletic wear than the size -0 girl.

Anon 11:59---Yes they do need to use this girl as a model. I am tired of the stick-thin runway chick they keep using on their site. It misrepresents the clothing because this is athletic apparel. We have muscle mass. The lulu models these days do not sell the clothes well. It's also not healthy. For all of their talk about yoga (including ruining a perfectly good jacket with the words NICE ASANA on the back), you would think they would choose models who look like people who actually practice what the company preaches. Other competing companies use athletic looking models.

As for the gray Wunder Unders…Here is my one concern with lighter gray and I speak from experience: You can gets some very unflattering lines in the crotch area if you sweat. They seem to show up in grays like you wouldn't believe.

Not to go all Athleta on this awesome Lulu blog, but after my trip to Lulu (got the wee stripe white/gray CRB--will wear it with everything!), I stopped at the Athleta store and walked out with chat capris, which I haven't tried before. Wow. They remind me of my
Wunder Unders from four years ago more than the current Wunder Unders do. The chat tights are soft and cozy and just compressive enough to be very slimming and flattering. Waistband and crotch fit perfectly. (Note: I'm a size 6 in Lulu and the small in the chat capri fit perfectly.) I've been trying nearly every kind of WUCs and WUPs Lulu has put out in the last 6 months, and the only ones I've liked were the parallel stripe (which I love). With the others, either the waist was too big, the crotch too tight, or they're just not flattering enough. I was heartbroken at having to return the deep zin reversibles because the fit was just so odd. I have yet to work out in the chat tights, but they are made with the wicking version of their pilayo (content similar to luon), so I'm curious to see how they hold up to a sweaty yoga session. If they do, I think I may have found my WU replacement!

I saw these in store today and they felt very thin and cheap. You could probably find a better quality pair in any generic store for much cheaper.

@ anon 2:25 pm - Interesting that you found the waist to fit ok in the Chaturangs. I found the striped Chaturanga capris to fit big in the waist which is what other reviewers on the Athleta website said, too. When I sized down to get a snugger waist the bottom became sheer when I bent over. I only tried on the gray and blue striped Chat capris, though.

They released a similar WUC style like these pants last year and they were so cheap and cottony, total waste of $. Avoid big time.

I'd probably get the medium grey in a regular wunder under pant (not roll down).

Looks great with the pink on top.

I won't be doing anything too active for sure! No sweating in those puppies.

Love these pants! Hoping they come in luon.

I have a heather gray luon pair from ivivva. They are super soft & feel great on, but I don't wear them much. I am afraid to sweat in them, and they definitely don't slim you down like black WU do. I have pretty slim, muscular legs but I feel a bit self-conscious in them. Moral of the story: I do regret that purchase a bit & won't be buying any lighter colored WU in the future.

OT: I got a french terry pullover from Athleta. The cut/fit is a bit weird so I'm not sure if I'm keeping it, BUT they actually got the thumbholes right!! They made the cuffs a separate piece of fabric & put the holes where your thumb actually is, not on the inside seam. It drives me nuts how all the sleeves are twisted on lulu/ivivva tops when you wear the thumbholes. A small but really important detail that I wish lulu would change.

Lla--the striped chats are a different fabric--recycled poly & spandex. I tried those on too & they felt too thin. I didn't like them at all. Weird how the different chat tights have different fabrics, but I found the wicking pilayo the best & that's only in the regular tight & capri (not the knicker, stripes, plaid, icy, etc.)

I agree with you, LuluAddict, on the fit of the Chaturanga capris - waist is too loose and when I size down for the waist they're sheer in downward dog.

The bottom of those pants look like the ebb to street pants

Yeah i hate recycled poly- yuk its probably super toxic too- can you imagine just what the heck it is that is recycled and how much water is wasted to to it also all the chemicals involved- yuk not earth friendly at all when you did into the subject at all, especially w/ how valuable water is these days.

I got the Athleta Chat tights in grey/black stripe. So stinkin' cute! I don't mind that they are a poly blend, for me I like having a thinner fabric for a class where I'll be warmer. I wear a 4 in Lulu and an XS fit pretty good. Many of the other non-poly blend fabrics offered by Athleta in their bottoms are amazing with softness, thickness, and put Lulu to shame.

@ 2:53, right because LLL is so eco-friendly without using recycled content? btw LLL has used recycled fabric. Have it in some speed shorts.

Anonymous said...

yep, also Patagonia uses a lot of recycled plastic type fabrics.
Most of the items at Athleta that I noticed, were similar content and also similar in price as lulu. Design wise they are totally copying lulu.
The less expensive stuff was scratchy poly and nothing innovative in terms of design.

Prana uses recycled plastic poly blend, too. Not crazy about it. I do love my paisley Athleta chaturanga tights. So soft and a great fit. I plan to buy more when they release new colors this spring. I like the Rubik capris, too.
Lulu's failure to hem the legs on these tights is pure cheapness, nothing more. It is not a perk. It is a fault.
