Were the varsity tights uploaded on the US side, or just on the Canadian side?

I thought they were on the US side last night but I don't see them now. I guess I remembered wrongly.

Yikes those speed shorts look TIGHT! But wait the tag says she's a size small, its all good ;)

They were uploaded on the US side. I thought about getting them but hesitated too long for they were gone when I checked back the next day.

anon@8:51PM and LLA

LLA you remembered correctly. The Varsity Tights were uploaded with the rest of the collection. I ordered a pair Mon night. They arrive tmrw. They must have sold out overnight b/c they were not listed on Tues morning when I checked again.

I'm starting to regret not getting the tank and possibly the skirt. I'll stop by the store I know will have it to check out all pieces live.

I thought those were boogie shorts!

Just saw new WMTM items uploaded...

one of which I bought a few minutes ago at the regular price. Sent them an email to make sure they charge me the new WMTM price.

Picked up a pair of the Dash Crops off WMTM. Hoping they work out as well as the Runday Crops I have and aren't sheer! Already got my order confirmation too.

@10:16pm just buy another at md and return the full price one.

Energy bras are back on-line!!

Totally OT, and I know it's nothing new, especially after the online warehouse sale, but I still need to vent.

Why oh why doesn't lulu allow people even a 10 minute hold on items in their cart?!? It has happened so many times that I log in, grab what I need in my size, and just pop over to add a headband or something, and then when I go to check out, the other item is all of a sudden out of stock??

Today it was just a headband, but still, it's a headband I'm sure not buying now and having shipped all by its lonesome. Other retailers manage, not sure why lulu can't get their act together re: online shopping.

Grrrr.

I hate when I have money to spend and nothing to buy. Desperately need a US warehouse sale, new WMTM, or new colors!

Seriously way too tight speed shorts. They can't even be comfortable like that. Agreed, who cares what the tag says; proper size will actually look flattering.

wmtm, not much of interest. I'd get the ftb bra but my size 6 is out. It's AOK though since I got in on the warehouse sale and didn't want to be after anything else (there's only one thing I'm waiting to go to markdown).

Hi Ladies - I'm looking for feedback on the Moto Jacket. It keeps catching my eye on WMTM. Looks super warm and cozy and like it could be a great jacket to wear to work as an alternative to my fluffy down jacket. Anyway any advice would be great. Thanks!

Anonymous said...

She's wearing the speed shorts way too tight and small. Looks bad. Yikes!

Is Colab Future Varsity jacket grey? That wasn't uploaded...

CrossFitter tend to wear their speed shorts as the girl in the picture. It is because their quadriceps are big. If she were to size up then it might give her the appearance of a diaper.

@4:21.
I sized down to an 8. It's very warm and spacious enough to layer underneath. But I think if your shoulders or hips are on the broader side, it may be wise to stick tts. I'm 5'8 and it hits below my hips and falls halfway across my tush (whichnis what I was looking for).

Between the overpriced (and boring) colab stuff (and that skirt looks awful on everyone!) & the blah pastels, my wallet has remained safe from Lulu all year! Great because I'm still paying off my credit card from all the fall spending--loved the fall colors. I'm actually liking Athleta's spring line much more than Lulu.

Love my Moto jacket (that I thought I was getting a deal on when I bought it on sale for $129!) Oh well. It's so cozy and I can layer a Scuba hoody or a thick sweater under it (but I'm small). I got my TTS, and it's perfect for shorties like me. I have gotten lots of compliments on it as well, and it's been my go to jacket lately when it's not raining here in Seattle. At $89, I think it's a steal! I bought the black, and it looks cute with my Ivivva soot tweed rulu scarf that's like a Vinyasa but smaller.

I was tempted to by the Dash crops, but was worried they would be sheer after reading the reviews. I didn't pull the trigger, and a few hours later, they were sold out. Oh well. I love my Rundays that I paid full price for. Because I'm a stump, they are like regular tights on me! The Rundays weren't sheer, but I didn't want to take the chance on the Dash since so many people commented on how thin the material was.

I don't like the current color palette. I would have loved a few more items in zinfandel or surge. I felt like that collection was missing items in those colors. I do like baroque blue, but that's about it right now. I didn't like cool breeze or that minty teal (whatever they are calling it now) the first time around. Oh well, my husband is happy (I have a suspicion he may have his hand in this, lol!)

Is That Snookie in the speed shorts?

Hi Anon @4:21 a.m. re Moto Jacket. The jacket is nicer than it looks in the pictures. FYI, I'm tiny at 5'3"' 100lbs and a size 4 fits me well across the shoulders. The middle part is slightly loose but it's good for layering. The sleeves are perfect length (mind you I'm only 5'3"), ie. shorter than the "usual" Lulu length. The jacket is very soft and warm, same material as my DHBH pullover. In my opinion, it's well worth the money at WMTM. Hope it helps.

@anon 4:21 - the Moto jackets are selling in stores for $74 instead of the $89 online. Not sure how lulu's pricing can be SO inconsistent?? They have items in the WMTM section online, but in my store are full price?? Not sure how they can charge different prices for the exact same item. You have to be very careful with them. So I'm waiting for them to adjust the price online.

I'm perplexed by a few thing on the Lulu site (Canadian side)

The energy bras are back and I'm stoked, but also worried because, where were they? Is something messed up with the sizing? Just like the mysterious disappearance of the new, light-coloured skinny wills and WUs.

Also, for months now all kinds of stuff has been on WMTM but when I click on things they are always sold out in all colours and sizes.

Baroque Blue...not different enough from
Beach Blanket Blue
Beaming Blue
Pigment Blue.

Seriously, am I having Deja Vu? What's with the repetitive color palette?

I wear 6 in crb but 8 in scuba and swiftly. do you think 6 or 8 would be better in moto? My hips are not tiny so thinking of 8? Hmmmm

Trying to sign up for the Seawheeze race no luck with the Damn website!

I have huge quads and I don't wear my speed shorts like that!

Anonymous said...

Wow those speed shorts look terrible. Who cares if she is a crossfitter and has big quads? They still don't fit. I hardly think sizing up a size (or maybe two) would give her the appearance of wearing a diaper.

Anonymous said...

MB: don't forget cornflower blue

Anonymous said...

I think the hair and makep is a bit much for a workout, but I like the way her shorts look, even if they are too small. I think they emphasze her muscular abs and quads . As long as her bum isn't showing I'd dress like that if I had that body. But i bever, ever will because I love eating more than i love working out.

LLA I love your blog!!! Read it everyday.

Question for folks: I purchased the WUC reversible in Baroque Blue but I noticed the color isn't as deep as the other Baroque Blue pictures I'm seeing online. Has anyone else noticed this? The color looks more faded, not as deep. I'm wondering if the crops I have are defective or specific to the reversible material. Thank you!

Hi the Colab Varsity tights were on the US side but they sold out and fast! My size sold out while I was on the phone paying for them, so I had to go up a size. I just got them today and I absolutely LOVE them. I would say they are way thicker than what I would consider a tight. They are one of my favorite purchases ever and I am a picky one. The pictures in this case were deceiving....they were worth very penny IMO....I very happy with my purchase.

I KNEW someone would comment that if the Jersey Shore girl sized up, it would look like a diaper. Her shorts are too tight and look ridiculous. She is in great shape, but looks silly (IMHO) in all of those shorts. She could go up one or even two sizes and it wouldn't come close to resembling a diaper.

Let me reiterate... She is in great shape. She just needs to size up her speed shorts.

@anon 12:27 - i agree completely. made it into a store here in nyc and got the last pr in my size - i love them!! on my top 10 favorite ever lulu purchase (and i have some great things) been collecting for about 8 years now. enjoy yours! everyone else - also enjoy the colab (if you like it - i know not everyone does)

What is with that Future Varsity skirt? It's up on the UK website but can't really see it going down too well over here where girls still wear school uniform.

Anonymous said...

Agree on the too-small speed shorts. They are too tight in the waist and the thighs. I wouldn't criticize if they were just snug through the thighs because she had a lot of thigh muscle, but that is not the case. They are too small overall; it looks like she's wearing children's clothing.

Did the Baroque blue Healthy Heart Pullover get pulled? I noticed it doesn't show up in the color choices online anymore, but it didn't seem to sell out. I haven't seen it listed in any of my PN emails either. Was just curious if anyone knows anything.

Anonymous said...

I agree with the too tight speed short comments. If you try to do a deep squat in those shorts the way she is wearing them, they will rip.

4:21 here - thanks for the feedback on the moto jacket! I emailed two of my local stores to see if they have it and so far one has gotten back to me that they do not. I'd really like to try it on first before buying it from WMTM. I'm small - 5'4" and 115 so would likely buy a 4. Also, my stores do not always have the matching WMTM prices which is annoying!I run to the store to see if they have stuff that got marked down and they often have it so I can at least try it on but it is not marked down. So then I have to go back home and order it and wait for it to arrive. I know, first world problem but it's still annoying! Also black is now sold out in my size so I may just forget the whole thing.

Anonymous said...

I noticed that as well. Same thing with the "yin to my yang cardi" it was originally in 3 colors & is only showing the fresh teal color now. Surely it didn't sell out??

Anonymous said...

Never mind the too small speed shorts. I would never let anyone take a photo of me upside down and holding my legs open while wearing sheer lulu pants like in the last photo.

Anonymous said...

I heard reviews of the varsity tights being amazing so ran over to try them on and was disappointed. The fabric was just so so and the fit was off for me. I'm usually a 6 and they were baggy in odd areas. 4 was better but still just looked kind of cheap to me- like something from gap. I did get the patience pant though and absolutely love them! Great fit, not sheer in the wee stripe pattern.

Anonymous said...

It must be a personal preference because I think the varsity tights are amazing, but I am on the shorter side and they are not sheer at all! I think they ate one of my favorite purchases ever and I have waaaay too much lulu!

Anonymous said...

I'd love to see someone holding a sign that says: "In 2014 I will not wear sheer Lululemon pants."

Anonymous said...

I just returned my Varsity Tights this am for the following reasons...

The seams that run down the back of the pant on either side of the leg, combined with the two different fabric constructions, one of which stretches (the rib) more than the other (flat luon), cause my butt to be flatter than it is...a 1st for me in a lulu bottom. Not flattering to my eye, even if I don't have to look at it.

The other issue is that I have shorter legs and a longer torso, so the tights were about 3/4" too long. Can't be hemmed due to zipper.

Agree, consider sizing down...they were a tiny bit loose on me. I tried one size down but that didn't really work either.

For me, there's probably one to many things going on with the tight...ribbed luon, flat luon, gold zipper.

However, I can see how they would work beautifully for others for sure.
