Universal Stripe Baserunner LS and More

It's kind of hard to tell since it's obscured by the gym bag but on the left is a photo of the new Universal Striped Baserunner LS. This top was uploaded to the Canadian side of the website last night but not the US side. However, the top photo is from a US store.

Some Coastal Tank photos. I really liked the fit but couldn't decide if the swim fabric was a good fabric for workouts - can anyone comment who has this tank?

I really want to like the universal stripe but in black/grey tones it looks a little too masculine for my liking.

You have a good eye - this print first appeared on the men's side last year, I believe, and is back again this year. I agree. I'm not a fan.

I tried the Universal Base Runner on at the store this morning ... Actually I didn't find it too masculine looking, but I tried on a 12 as I wanted something a little roomier for layering and I felt it fit a little small. I normally take a 8 in CRB and 10 in most other LS tops and tanks due to my bust size and muscular arms ... I thought the 12 would be a lot bigger on me then it was. so it stayed in the store. Did manage to try on the brisk bloom forme and Nice Asana and walked out with the latter as I liked the style better on me with the "busy" print. No striped WUC around though and lots of the eds didn't even know they were coming ... now I have them excited!! haha

I like the pattern. of the universal stripe. I think it will be easy to match with purples and blues and even pinks.

So here's a little disappointing discovery I made today when my new SE scuba FINALLY came in the mail (took over 2 weeks!). All LuLu gave me was one of their tiny basic shopper bags. I bought a 128.00 scuba (a bulky item that I had I purchased in store, would have required a larger shopping bag to carry). Boo. That's kind of cheap on their end. Come on. I need one of these basic red manifesto shopper totes like I need an incurable rash. I keep giving them away to get rid of them.

I have the coastal thank and really like it. Because the fabric is swim material it dries really fast! So its great after a sweaty workout. Reminds me of a 105 singlet that just dries really fast!

anon 11:46 - funny i noticed the same yesterday although i was in store - purchased post gravity pants for my husband for xmas - and a tank - was at the counter paying for my items , chatting with someone so was distracted, until the ed was all done and presented me with the small manifesto bag, big thick pants and tank smushed in the bag, spilling out the top (by a lot) - i looked at it, then the ed and asked if they had run out of bigger bags? she looked at me dumbfounded, then proceeded to roll her eyes, get a bigger bag and act like i was the most demanding of customers and she did me a great favour. Wow.

The universal stripe looks SO MUCH like this year's men's Core Crew in (go figure) universal stripe. :)

I think it's really funny they released this print for women. I tried to get my hubby to try on the core crew. One of the Eds noticed that he was not a fan of the print, and she came over and shared that tons of women have pointed it out to their guys and the guys have rejected it. We had a whole conversation about how cute it was and how guys just don't understand. Too funny!!!

I bought the Coastal Tank but will most likely return it. The 105 singlet looks better on me since it fits slightly smaller in the waist area (or maybe the fabric just hangs better). The Coastal tank looked great from the front and the back, but from the side it looked like a tent. The fabric is fairly thick so I think that contributes. I hadn't worked out in it obviously, but I have worked out in a lulu swim suit top before and liked the fabric just fine.

A little OT, but a few posts ago people were talking about whether or not the Dash crops were sheer. I got them in the macro/micro stripe and I would say they are the same as any of the dark colored crops of late. Not perfectly opaque if you have patterned underwear, but just fine otherwise. I asked my husband to check and he couldn't see anything. And I even got a size down from normal.

I recently got a cute black and white tote style bag (bigger than small, smaller than big manifesto ones) with my online order.

I usually ask for a large shopping bag, even if I just buy socks, b/c I collect them for grocery shopping. They last for ages! I always get one with the biggest smile here in Toronto (esp. at the Briar Hill store, bless those ladies).
I have the coastal tank from the summer. Bought it in Vegas as a bikini cover-up for land and water. Served me well. The style is voluminous and it doesn,t really touch my body, so the air circulates quite well. When wet, it dries really fast. It is of my favourite tanks for hot weather, although I didn,t really do any sweaty exercise in it. For that, I have other tops.

I was at the Ala Moana Lulu store last week and bought my hubby a size large core hoodie. The ed stuffed it...somehow... Into the small red bag. I didn't really notice until she gave it to me because I was chatting with a friend. I just took it and left. When I pulled it out of the bag at home, it was like pulling a sausage out of its casing! How she got it in there is beyond me. Sigh....

I bring my shopper bags from online orders back to the store because there is no way I need them. I get some funny looks but it is clear they have never been used so they take them back. I've already given away tons.

I got the new holiday shopper today and it is so pretty! I keep special ones. :)

Lol to the bag!

This is one thing that REALLY bothers me about LLL. I wish there were an option to check 'no bag needed' when all I am going to get is another little red one that I cannot get rid of!

Same here. My Gratitude Wrap arrived with a stupid little red manifesto bag too. I like the bigger ones because they're good for groceries and such. The tiny ones are useless for anything other than a lunch bag. And I have way too many...

anon @ 11:58 - That's really bizarre, and very rude. Usually the ED's at my store will ask me if I want a small or large tote if there's any question about it. If I'm buying 3+ items, they usually automatically give me a large tote even if the items would have fit in a small one. I actually prefer the small ones and will request those if asked.

My Gratitude Wrap came today! It is perfect! I bought a size down and it fits perfectly - not bulky at all!! I know there was a lot of talk about poor stitching n the buttons but the ones on my sweater look great!

Yes, Lulu used to give us the option of getting a bag or no bag with online purchases. I'm also tired of getting those small bags that I have no use for... I've also gotten the strange look for bringing back some used bags (from online purchases). Euh !

I don't care which size I have plenty of both! those striped wup and wuc were cute except the waste band has the verticle stripes needed the horizontal to be super cutle like the quiet stripes that are so popular and the macro wup have it right except not sure about the wide stripes looks a bit fredy cruger to me??? I might get some we'll see????

BAGS - This year I decided to haul out all of my Lululemon bags and use them instead of Christmas gift bags! Everyone in my life knows I'm a Lulu junkie so it's kind of funny. Every person is getting gets their own style of bags as well so I don't even need gift tags to tell them apart. Some beautiful tissue paper to top them off and I was done super fast. No wrapping, recycle a ton of great, reusable bags (still have lots left tho!) and it totally makes me smile when I walk by the tree!! :)

I could not like the Universal Stripe on women, simply because my brain can only process it as a masculine pattern: Last year lulu released a half-zip Rulu pullover for men, which I got for my husband. There is even a pic of Chip Wilson wearing it for a public event. And it was again released earlier this season on the men's side (check the website).
So after a full year seeing my husband wearing his pullover (with the exact design and colors!), I have a hard time finding it cute on a female body.
Super easy pass for me!

@Sara
They used to have a check box to "yes bag" or "no bag". The option was removed oh maybe two years ago or so. I've also been trying to get them to put that option back and another for the cups. "yes cups" "no cups".
Even put in on heylululemon....I wonder if they even read it....

After hundreds of Lulu shoppers, I've never needed to buy a diaper bag. And my kids will likely go through life "red-bagging" it for lunch. They've never met a brown bag ,-)

Anyone know if the chevron dot Pacesetter comes in T?

A little off topic but any news if the bloom forme jacket has showed up in Canada yet? Thanks

Whenever I return an online order I shove a few shopping bags in with my return. I don't know if they reuse them or what, but at least they aren't in my house anymore.

I also do not need any more bags. I actually will keep a large and small bag in my car at all times and will take the bags into the Lulu with me (just like going grocery shopping, which these days going to Lulu seems to be a weekly trip). If I buy anything, I usually whip out my bag and ask the Ed to put it into my orginal bags. I also bring all of my online bags back to the store (unused) and they gladly take it back. I usually collect one of the new shoppers and that is it!!! Seriously, I barely have enough room for all of my Lulu clothes let alone the bags that I will never use. I would love to have a check box with the online order to NOT get a bag. And I would love to get a discount for not getting a bag - $1 off. Wouldn't that be nice?

I have the coastal tank in Ivory-ish shade (dont know what it was officially called) with a black trim. I wore it to Crossfit workout on a very warm and humid day. It showed sweat but was not any more uncomfortable than any other tank but I liked the looser fit so it didnt touch my body anywhere.

Although, I think it is not as flattering to wear as 105 Singlet. I wish I could get a size 2 (which would be roomy still but a little more figure flattering) but it only goes to 4.

I find the little bags very usefull use them to tote dog food dog bones, leashes etc everywhere (my dogs go w/ me everywhere w/ us), I use them for food for my husband to the job site etc. they are used for grocery stores they are really quite handy.

I like the universal stripe baserunner l/s and will probably buy it. Don't think it's too "masculine" at all, it looks pretty and classic.

Agree, there should be the option to say 'no bag'...didn't they do that/have an option, for all of 2 seconds sometime this year? I

Back at you 1:13 PM, same here. Am in Toronto and mostly shop at Eaton Centre, Briar Hill and Cumberland. I either don't take a bag (just buying a CRB, for example, and I uwually have a reusable bag of some sort on me) but if I need a bag (also like most of the special ones) I request a large one and it's never a problem. I carry my laptop in them and friends usually want a large one (and have asked me 'next time you're there...')

I've thrown the small unused ones from on-line shopping in the kitchen at work; they always disappear.

I tried on the Bloom forme jacket in the Coquitlam store today (BC) so it's around!! Check out the print in the Nice Asana jacket as well ... tried them both on today and was totally surprised that I liked the Nice Asana one better

i'd love for them to give the option of "no bags" on online orders. i do love the holiday shopper though.

taking the online bags back to the store is a good idea. i have canvas totes i use for groceries, but i do use the bigger LLL totes for taking packages to the post office or for carrying blankets and other lightweight things to photo sessions.

my WUP PS and coco pique have both shipped. my order for WUC PS is stuck in "processing."

Anonymous said...

Haven't seen the new holiday shopper yet. Hope it comes with my orders!
Need to stay away from the site. I ordered the coco piques this morning and then just bought the Weekend Warrior Duffel! Ahhhh this is totally busting my budget and bonus is still 3 months away!

I love the idea of using the bags for xmas gifts! Now I wish I hadn't given them all away! Thank you!!

I too keep a lulu bag in my desk at work for when I walk to the store close to my office (dangerous!) over lunch and in my car for when I drive to the store close to my gym on the weekends. They do come in handy but I agree it would be nice to have an option for no bag for online orders. I've actually posted this in my online reviews several times.

I have also left extra bags on a table in my office and several of my coworkers use them for their lunch bags. They all know I'm a lulu addict.

I love that universal stripe. I'm thinking I'd need to see it in person for stripe placement. It looks great on the website shot with the darker in the middle. But it looks like the dark is on top in the store model shot. I'd want the dark in the middle to slim down my stomach.

I have taken my online bags back (the manifesto ones) to the store, and they have said to me that they would just "throw them in the garbage", so I take them back and try to use them or give them away as I can. THAT policy is ridiculous. Both of my local stores ahve said the same ting.

Anonymous said...

My local store won't reuse the small bags, either. I find it ridiculous as they've only been used to ship my online order to me and are clean.

It irks me that I always get a shopping bag (which I don't need) when ordering online, but never the bra inserts (which I do need).
