Special Edition Scuba Details

I didn't realize the front of the Baroque SE Scuba was also embroidered. It's such a pretty scuba.

SE Ruffle Scuba details.

OMG - How many things are wrong with this. Why would they even create this. Did anyone at lulu look at it after a sample was made. This is hideous.

Did you not take your meds this morning? What, exactly, is wrong with either of these Scubas? They've done ruffled/lace scubas before and they are very pretty.

The lux ruffle scuba reminds me of my special edition ruffled cuddle up from a couple of years back. That is my absolute FAVORITE piece of Lulu that I own. So pretty and special, imo. I would buy this scuba in a heartbeat if I didn't already have something so similar. The baroque is also gorgeous.

I think the scubas are very cute, and yes they are pretty, but I think you'd have to be very very girlie, or a teenager. I know I would get laughed at by all my sailor buddies if I showed up in that scuba.

@anon 8:39 You do realize LLA is not a designer at Lululemon, right?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. For me, I prefer the lace & ruffles to the embroidered Baroque design, but to each her own. IMO the Baroque embroidery, especially on the back, reminds me of old school appliqued & embroidered jackets like the "Pink Lady" jackets in the movie "Grease" :)

i also think it's hideous. can't quite put my finger on why.

These are both gorgeous! If I hadn't bought so many other items recently, I'd be adding these to my collection as well. @Anon 8:39, not sure what you want from LLL...more butch?! I mean, to each her own, but these designs seem to be quite popular with the masses. Hope something floats your Lulu boat...

My concern about fading was the only reason I didn't pick up one of the SE scubas. I couldn't imagine paying that much for something so pretty and having it look old and a bit shabby in a short amount of time due to fading. Otherwise, I would have totally been on board.

@ anon 9:39 am - I agree. I really like the baroque SE one but no way am I getting a black Scuba. It's too bad they didn't make a cream version of these SE scubas.

I saw the lace scuba in store this weekend and thought it was really cute. Just not an extra $50 cute IMO. I bought the black and white stripe scuba with the pink logo on the hood. Last one in my size made it my excuse to buy it. Love it but just wish they would make the scubas a couple inches longer. I tried on the Calm & Cozy and liked the longer length but it felt thin and not so warm compared to the scuba.

I think it looks somewhat Asian. Imagine a karate master wearing a silk robe with an embroidered dragon on the back. That's what comes to mind when I see this sweatshirt.

Who crapped in your cornflakes this morning?

I also don't care for these. They look like they belong in the juniors dept. of Nordstrom's. To each their own though. I'm sure I like things that others think are hideous. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I love all of these, but I have yet to buy any scubas because they're so short and would look silly on me. Such a shame because I would probably buy several if it weren't for the length.

I'd also have to pass on these. In my opinion, the detailing is too pretty to pair well with a cotton fleece hoodie, and I really dislike how jarring the big white logo looks next to the lace or the embroidery. I'd probably like the detailing on an otherwise plain wool jacket or something, but not on a hoodie.

Haha @anon10:28 I had a similar reaction to yours! That's a lot of passion to express over a sweatshirt!

These are too girly for me personally, but I can't see how they are hideous or anything. A bit too trendy for such an expensive item though. They'll look dated quickly I imagine. What I can't really understand is why the logos on the hoods aren't black though. They look really out of place.

Oh no fading? I don't own a Scuba but I bought the Calm & Cozy in black. Should I be worried about fading since it is the same material as the Scuba?

@ anon 1:48 pm -- I have a black scuba from 2012 (with the side panels before they changed to the scuba *stretch) and I wore it a ton of times last winter and this winter and it hasn't faded at all. It still looks like new! I wouldn't be that worried about fading... I really love both of those. I'm 29 years old, and I would for sure wear either of them! But then, I am pretty girly. I would buy them except I don't believe they are worth $158. (And I already have a black scuba, so probably don't need another one, and have already spent too much this winter!)

I have to agree with the first poster. These are not cute scubas.

I would never pay the extra $$$$ for these fancied up cotton hoodies. The huge Lululemon logo is very off-putting. Is it this big to make up for the shortness of the jacket?
