Some Try On Reports

Angel Swiftly and Brisk Bloom Speed Shorts.

Parallel Stripe Runday crops. I ended up getting these today. They are nicely thick and opaque. I don't know why I didn't love the Rundays the last time I tried them on but these felt super comfortable and the waistband is very wide and it gives you a nice luxtreme tummy tuck (to borrow a phrase from a friend - thanks Ms. M.).

I know I've used this photo earlier but I tried on both the Practice Daily crops and Wunder Under Pants in the Soot Brisk Bloom print. This print is 88% polyester but not scratchy like the Deep Zinfandel Beautiful Baroque was. As people have reported, it's on the sheer side. I think I could get away with wearing gray underwear underneath but I didn't care for the big print on my big legs. I preferred the Daily Crops to the WUP since the seaming on the pant broke the pattern up and the seaming adds camouflage across the rear since there are four seams on your backside.

Iconic Wrap - I tried on the 12, which should have fit fine, and found the arms super tight. I think that is par for the course for this style.

The newest Open Your Heart LS.

I tried on this scuba and thought the material was nicely thick but didn't love the black band across the bottom. It made the top look shorter than it is and cut me in half.

Tame Me Tank and Core Kicker Crop

The Tame Me Tanks have yet a new material on the bottom, the website calls it breathable mesh (last time it was Circle Mesh and the release before that was Silverescent). I think this makes for the lightest Tame Me yet. I've owned both previous versions and ending up selling them. I just can't get on board with this blousy style for some reason and I don't know why. They're very comfortable and great for bustier women. They do well in the resale market and are sought after, too. I may end up getting another one of these to try. I do love tanks with a lot of mesh in them and I liked this one when I tried it on today. If you are a Tame Me fan you'll want to check these out.

Parallel Stripe Base Runner Half Zip.

Oh yes, I saw Swiftly headbands in Guava Lava today. I cannot wait for more of this pretty color in the Swiftlys.

Yes!!! I also bought the stripe Runday crops- LOVE the wide high waist and seaming! Very flattering! Contemplating the 1/2 zip base runner in stripe too!!

LLA, will you purchase the stripe WU also? I bought the Runday crops but at 5'2" they don't look right. I think they kind of chop my legs a bit. I'm curious why more ladies want the WU versus the Runday.

I'm waiting for guava lava also.. I bought the en route crops in paisley inkwell on sale.. I like how thick they are and I like the wide adjustable luxtreme waistband. I haven't read any comments about the en route crops. I don't even know if they were meant for running or yoga as the hang tag states"running to yoga" I'm getting rid of my paisley inkwell WUC

Full on luon skinny wills are now available online in dz!

@ anon 5:18 pm - I am leaning towards not getting them in the WUC. They are a pretty bold print for me and I feel more comfortable wearing them as run bottoms than gym bottoms. I have a January race coming up they'd be perfect for, too. Moreover, I prefer luxtreme bottoms for workouts lately. I think more women like the WU because they don't run and they want to use the WU for both workouts and also casually. I don't see myself wearing these casually. They are a bit out of my comfort zone for that.

Hi there
Is the iconic wrap back???
;) thanks!

I love the guava color too! I did purchase the base runner 1/2 zip last week in herringbone, and though I absolutely love the top, while running in it, I realized the zipper is super scratchy on the neck! I swear it's my only lulu top that doesn't have a zipper cover.

Does anyone know how the Runday crop compares to the Run: Dash crop? I've tried of the runday and liked them but didn't get them because the dash crop has a higher rise, however they're online only so I can't try them on. I usually wear inspires but I was looking for a different style of luxtreme crops.

I picked up the stripe Rundays - they are a bit sheer for me in a squat, but I'm the same as LLA, in that I don't think I would wear this pattern to the gym, but rather keep them for running. I do love them - they look fabulous!

I will get the wuc in the stripes for sure provided I can stay up and get my order thru? ya never know though. I lov the tame me tanks but don't wear mine often I do love them though. I may get another depending on color options i'm growing tired of colors they keep doing or very similar colors over and over, wish they'd do more variety. also not likeing the long sleeve tops that have curved hemlines and they bag out at the bottom looks super cheap and not lulu like at et al.

OT - HELP!! Has anyone had any major stretching issues with their Swiftlies? I just got the black stripe LS, and it came out of the wash as long as a dress!!! I've never had this happen before - anyone else?

Anonymous said...

Love my tame me tank! Will definitely have to try these one! You kind of opened my eyes about the WU.. Id only wear them casual too and they're a bit wild for me.. Will still try to get them to see how great they make me bum look but may end up Angeling them if i do..

Anonymous said...

LLA, do you think the iconic wrap will be uploaded online this upcoming week? I'm not near a store and would like a closer look!

Those parallel stripe run day cropped tights really chop up a woman with all those seams and the giant black cuff. Seems they'd be flattering only on the thinnest people.

Lauren@6:04, the Run: Dash crops I had tried on earlier were extremely sheer. I was in the typically poorly lit Lulu dressing room, not even bending over and I could see my undies! I bought the black Runday crops when they first came out, and they are not sheer on me. They run longer than the Run Dash too, so they are like a regular ankle length tight on me (I'm 5' 103 lbs.) I love the legs, the zippers at the ankle, and they have a higher waist band than the Inspires too. They have good compression as well.

I tried on the striped ones yesterday, and I just can't pull off that look. I think they would be really cute on some people, I looked like a dork. The parallel striped half zip po made me dizzy, but the regular Baserunner did not! I would have bought that if I wasn't Christmas shopping for other people!

The Practice Daily crops weren't sheer on me, and they had multiple pockets (which I love!), however, there was no drawstring. I have to have a drawstring, or my pants fall down!

I tried on the Speed Techs, and I'm asking for those for Christmas. They are so nice, compressive, higher waisted and not sheer at all!

Bellevue Square had the guava lava and pique Vinyasas. The Guava is a pretty color!

I love my old Tame me tanks. I have the silverescent ones, and I was disappointed when they came out again in the circle mesh.

Hoping that In a Flash skirt comes out in more colors!

Anyone notice Bust A Move pants listed at $98 on the Canadian "What's New", first row. Can't click on the image though and they show as $128 if you look the up under pants. Website glitch?

Store try on and online order report:

Runday Striped crops- was an online order from Tuesday upload and surprisingly I received it in 2 days (that never happens, usually takes 5 days). I absolutely love them. Compressive and high waisted so no muffin top. Sometimes, WUC gives me muffin top depending on how stretchy the stitching at the very top on the crop (where the small pocket sits). The black band on the calf makess the stripes more striking. Will try on the WUC when it comes out but most likely I'll be keeping these. Really love them.

Brisk Bloom Soot WUP - love the pattern and yes, the placement of some of the blooms were critical. Tried on 2 and one had better placement. However, when you bend over, the material stretched out and it turned white (like the midnight iris). Almost like its sprayed painted on the fabric.. If that makes sense. I could not really see my underwear during deep bend but my ass was white. I tried my TTS 4 and would have been too loose if I try size 6. I forgot to check whether they were Full On Luon. They stayed in the store.

Brisk Bloom Practice Daily Crop - I was disappointed about the WUP so when I saw these, I had to try these on. I had tried the PD crops when it first came out but I didn't need any more plain black crops so didn't get any. However, these I loved. The luon is thicker than WUP. Not sure if it's Full on Luon but the feel slightly thicker than WUP. The tag does not say that they are Full On Luon. The strategic seam placement throughout the crop breaks up the blooms so no need to worry about placement. I had a friend with me and we both tried on these (we are different sizes) and they were great on both of us regarding bloom placement because it didn't really matter where they were due to the seams. I didnt need to try on 2 separate crops. I think the multiple intersecting seams in the back keeps the butt area from stretching too much but it was not whited out as during deep bend. These came home with me. My friend bought one too.

GW wraps - I'm hesitant about keeping these (bought 2 colors). Stayed with my size because the arms were already tight in my TTS. I don't like how the buttons are stitched on. The wrap is 2 layers and the buttons are stitched on through both layers and looks odd and causes puckering. The Savasana wrap has the same buttons but they sew it only on 1 layer. I'm going to see if the seamstress can redo the buttons.

Open Your Heart LS black/white stripes - have 2 already and love these. They are not technical tops and are more for layering and to/from and casual wear. I wanted to buy this but they were already sold out in my size. Still had other sizes left just not mine. So I have to stalk the website on Monday night.

Forme light Herringbone - bought this too. It is soft, love the neutral color. Got my TTS 4 (size of the CRB) and it fits perfectly. Surprisingly, I didn't have the pointy shoulders (like previous Forme).

OT- does anyone know the name of the GIANT ORANGE BEAN BAG from yesterday's post (12/12/13). The women wearing the white brisk Bloom scuba I believe. I would like to get that for my kids. TIA.

I know that the Tame me tank is popular, but another top along the same lines that I ended up absolutely loving was the 2-in-run tank. It's not so blousy and is bum covering . I know done people were deterred because of the crazy stripes on top, but the are nice ! I have had various tanks from Lulu that do the tight bra and then blousy bottom, and like LLA, I always end up selling them. But this 2-in-run tank is a keeper.

I am starting to lose hope the zinfandel weekend warrior bag will ever be uploaded to the US site. Unless it sold out so fast I never even saw it?

I missed out on the parallel stripe Rundays, but I ordered the micro/macro stripe Dash Crop. Will get them on Tuesday. No pics of these have shown up yet since they are online only, so I'm hoping they will be just as cute in person.

Have there been any reports as to the sizing of the striped WUC? Are they TTS?
Thanks!

Love my Tame me tanks from the previous release. I wore them all summer but as more casual wear than workout wear. Hoping that other colors are released as I am not crazy about the ones out right now except maybe Paris perfection. Any word on if that is a color that bleeds? Wish I had bought the striped runday crops when they were available online.

Lauren@6:04, the Run Dash crops were like panty hose on me, super sheer. I was standing up straight in the usual poorly lit Lulu dressing room, and I could clearly see my undies! I bought the black Runday crops, and they were not sheer. I liked the higher waist, the legs were very flattering, and I even liked the zippers (just wish they were functional and made the bottom leg opening big enough to pull on and off over my shoes). The Rundays also run longer, so they are like an ankle length tight on me--at $88, it was nice to get some long pants. I am 5'. 103 lbs., and I wore my usual size 4. The Rundays were also more compressive than the thin Run Dash.

@ anon 7:55 am- the Australian ladies who have tried the striped WUC on report they are TTS, soft, and opaque.

@luli - from everything I have read Paris Perfection is not a bleeder.

I hope the coco pique wu are uploaded on monday..I passed on the ivivva piques even though it feels like i've been waiting forever!!
I don't think I"l be tempted by anything else, unless a different color comes out in DHBH besides black. Saving $ for the sales after xmas.

The jacket in the first set of pics is the Bust A Move jacket. Nice fit, water resistant and looks good on! i happen to like it better without the hood (zips off/on easily), but nice to have the option!

Oops--sorry--it is not the bust a move!

Fatboy is the bean bag in the picture, they are in amazon for @$239. Very durable but they do take up a lot of space.

Anonymous said...

Anon@7:54 a.m., I want to say the zin warrior weekend bag already uploaded in the US a few weeks ago. I remember thinking that the surge one looked really similar to the peacock/ray Ivivva Court Side Duffel. I could be wrong, but for some reason, I thought surge and zin were uploaded at the same time.

has any heard if we are going to see Don't Hurry Pullover this season? So far none of the fleece compare to what that pullover was.

Anonymous said...

Anon 5:18 here.....thanks LLA for answering my question. :)

Anonymous said...

@ Sb 5:32 AM - that bean bag looks like the Fatboy brand :)

Also, re changing the buttons on the GW - I looked at that too, but I think the single layer of fabric would be too thin, especially since it's stretchy, and might be prone to developing a holes around the stitching with repeated buttoning/unbuttoning. I have a friend who does a lot of sewing and she was of the same opinion, i.e. that it was stitched through for durability/reinforcement. Just a consideration!

For another view, I bought the Run Dash crops (Anon at 11:35, are you sure you tried on Run Dash, because they are supposed to be online only) and did not find them sheer. Nice wide flat waistband, reasonable compression. I found they fit very similarly to the Runday crops. You can't go wrong with either.

OT LLA and everyone else: can anyone tell me the differences among the FOUR different speed tights (brushed interlock, interlock, tech, luxtreme)? i keep reading great things about them but i am never sure which is which, and i can't tell the real differences from the LL website. i know it would be a lot of work to do a full comparison, but any insight would be much appreciated!

Anonymous said...

Re the buttons on the gw. The material is just too thin for the fabric. I found if you don't snap the inside ones, if will lay ok. I
I've mind, but am still debating about keeping it. Shame on lulu for permitting such poor workmanship.

Anonymous said...

The ivivva piques were super thin in comparison to the ones lulu came out awhile ago. I wanted to get a back up pair of piques since I love the lulu pair but it wasn't even comparable. You aren't missing much.

Anonymous said...

I'm another who purchased the Run Dash (in micro macro) and did NOT find them sheer at all. the fabric is thick and compressive. I normally wear Inspires and found the fabric similar. I am very careful about not wearing sheer bottoms and always check in multiple mirrors/lighting. the Dash crops were not even slightly sheer.

Anonymous said...

@ Anon 4:02 PM

Someone else might have answered already but this is my take on the speed tight fabrics (I own the luxtreme and brushed versions, and I also have other pants that have the tech fabric):

luxtreme - the original, stretchy, fairly lightweight fabric (not cottony like luon, more of a 'technical' fabric)
interlock - a slightly heavier weight, or more tightly woven, version of luxtreme (less prone to being sheer)
brushed interlock - the inside of the tights fabric is soft or 'brushed', it's a bit warmer and quite opaque
tech - a heavy-weight tight fabric, feels similar to luxtreme on the outside (I find it a bit less smooth/slippy) but fleecy on the inside, good for colder weather

Hope that helps!

Would u be able to angel me a bag? Of course i would pay for shipping and for your time..please email me lindasaissa@yahoo.com

@2:47
it is not for debate that the stitching on the outside of the GW is for reinforcing the snaps on the inside. Nevertheless, it looks extremely cheap and shoddy. Maybe some decorative buttons on the outside could be used to hide the stitches, or an other layer of material under the snaps to reinforce them. I,m no seamstress, just trying to imagine what would maybe work. Although this should be the job of the LLL designer...

Anonymous said...

@anonymous 5:52 PM: Thanks so much! Very nice comparison. I read a bunch of reviews of the brushed interlock, including one that said she wears them for hot yoga, and that surprised me, since it sounds so warm.

Luli Designs said...

Thanks Luluaddict for letting me know that you have not heard of any bleeding issues for Paris perfection. I am excited to wear my crb now.

Anonymous said...

i only have Paris Perfection in the Mula undies, but those did not bleed.

i love my GW. i just love the fit and coziness of it. if they do make it to markdown and i can find my size, i will buy another (it helps that i share clothing with my daughter). i may add buttons to the outside--i think that would definitely help disguise the stitching.

Anonymous said...

yep paris perfection should be washed the first time you get it. My pace setter skirt bled minimally, I dried and washed again and no bleeding, it is a really nice color less fluorescent than the original paris pink. I love the skirt. will cheer up my winter workouts.
