New Floral Print Spotted in Stores

The new floral print has been spotted in the Scuba hoodie in an LA-area store. (Thanks to Ms. S. for the photo.)

If this is any indication of the upcoming product line, then I'll be saving some money. That's a good thing though after all I've spent on the gorgeous assortment of black/white items. Any other coming attraction insights other than this print and the bright blue? I'd still love to see more solid and/or heathered CRB's, especially in Winter Orchid!

looks like something my grandma would wear... or have slip covers made out of lol.

Hmmmm, not sure what I think of this. It reminds me of the very juvenile frangipani print from last year.

Wow... this looks way different on a larger scale than it looked on the sports bra print... I really likes the sports bra picture, but i'm not sure about this...

Ugly and cheap looking IMO.

Thank you Lulu for saving me some money for a while with new prints like these looks like I'll have more money $$$. I've spent way too much in 2013 and vow to ween myself from updates every Monday eve.

Actually I love it! Its pretty. Nicer than the last few florals:)

Is that black or brown?

JenO said...

Wow, definitely going to be an easy pass on that print... Looks like it's made for kids...

Not a fan of this one so far. Just back from a family holiday celebration. 50 dollar gift card to lulu!

I completely agree why the comment regarding the juvenile frangipani. It looked like something from the little girl's section of Target. So does this hoody. I am not a fan of any of the floral prints at the moment. I saw someone wearing the brisk bloom runday crops and I could completely see through them. They are way too sheer. This awful, loud black and white floral trend needs to stop. We're adults. We want to look like grown women, not little girls.
Come on Lulu!

I'm torn! Would love to know which LA location this is from?

Anonymous said...

Yuck. Why all the dumpy florals? Why can't LLL do anything besides florals and stripes?

Anonymous said...

Ehhh looks sort of cheap on the scuba, but I'm still desperately waiting for the free to be bra in this print! Hope it looks just as nice in person :)

LLL website freaked out multiple nights so I ended up with multiple pairs of pants and other things. Seeing if there is any interest on here before I return them to the store after Christmas.

Parallel Stripes WUC Sz 2 (2 pairs) - $85.
Soot Brisk Bloom WUP Sz 2 - $95.
Gratitude Wrap Black Sz 2 - $135.
Gratitude Wrap Inkwell Sz 2 - $135.

Will be shipping from Chicago. Buyer pays shipping and fee. Not sure how much shipping will be yet since I haven't really sold anything before. Those of you have sold maybe can give me an idea?

Contact me at qnnguyen@me.com. If I don't get back to you right away, no worries, I will. Working overnight shifts this weekend.

It is a nice change from all the back and white items that are in the store right now. The store looks so dull.

Anonymous said...

Lol! Me too!! After years of checking every upload and most mornings for "pop-ups" or sneaky uploads, my goal is to go back to the casual shopper and only check the website if I need something. And that's really really need something.

Anonymous said...

This looks like a craft project gone bad. Yuck, easy pass!

Anonymous said...

Check out the USPS website for the priority mail flat rate stuff. The smaller stuff prolly fits in small box or padded envelope for around $6 and wrap in bigger box. I like these bc its a set price and includes tracking.

I though this print would tempt me after seeing it on the ftb bra...but this is just ugly. Well good for my wallet.

I do really like the colors out now and the new blue that is coming. So there will still be plenty to tempt me.

Anonymous said...

Looking for a size 4 in PS Crops If anyone has an extra please let me know. Thanks! .. kello10 @ mac

Saw this scuba IRL. The colors are much more vibrant and actually pretty. The scuba is black but the bang buster looks almost like it is on a brown background. The ed at my store said they will be getting crb, etc in this print the day after xmas.

Anonymous said...

Ew. Saying this is fugly is an understatement. Did they get this at Wal-mart and decide to re-sell? It will be marked down so fast!

Anonymous said...

Could be cute on a speed short

Anonymous said...

I think that the lighting has an effect on the colors. I actually think this scuba is cute! I like the florals!

Anonymous said...

I actually like this print. Unlike the last few prints which were very old lady like, this one is fun and more lively. I'll be buying a lot of this print....

Anonymous said...

no just no

The parallel wuc haven't shown up on the cdn site have they?

Anonymous said...

This print would be SO pretty on a yoga mat.....

A girl can dream right.. :(

Anonymous said...

The Brisk Bloom is a chic & classy black & white print. In person it is even lovelier than in photos. But the new floral print is not for me. Have to agree with the other comments that, at best, it looks like a children's print and, at worst, looks cheap. Perhaps it just photographs poorly? I don't know since my local store does not have this print yet. At least, I'll be able to save some money when these products are in stock.

Anonymous said...

OT - Did anyone order the Hipwidth Yoga stuff on Gilt?? I finally was able to try mine on and not really sure how I feel about it. Super super soft, but not really compressive. Does anyone else have any feedback on this stuff?? Just curious. Thanks!!

Anonymous said...

This print looks like it is made for a 5 year old girl to wear, not for adults. I will not be buying this for sure! Pass thank u!

Anonymous said...

I don't like florals in general, and I'm getting tired of stripes. So, easy pass on some of the latest things. Would love to just see solid, pretty deep colors (such as jewel tones)

Anonymous said...

OT: can anyone recommend a store in NYC? I know there's a bunch of them but I'm in town for a short time and can't go to every store, lol. Thanks in advance!

JenO said...

@ christie, no parallel stripe wuc on the Canadian site but many Ontario stores had it in stock last week, although I'm sure they sold out very quickly. Not sure about the rest of Canada in stores. I'd call if you a close to a store and see if they have any in stock.

Gosh, I am nervous about the upcoming colour palate - more specifically what we can expect to see on the upcoming Stride Jacket's and Savasana Wrap.

From what I understand, these pieces are being re-released 'one-time', for this 2014 launch. I really hope they don't put a dramatic print on them, this would be incredibly disappointing....

Since the Defines are not coming back, I just want to stock up on new Strides - tired of purchasing older styles on eBay, before I have to say goodbye again. I hope they put out a nice colour range for each style... LLA have you heard any news from an 'insider' with regards to launch date and colours?

Anonymous said...

Scubas and other staple jackets look best in solid colours, stripes, and geometric patterns. Big flowers like the Brisk Bloom are ok for WC and tanks. However, the small flowers print look cute only as a detail on speeds, bra portion of NLT, or in a hair accessory or bottle.

Go to Meatpacking. Newest store and it's just badass.

Love SoHo but the manager is a bit cray.

Both upper east side locations are nice.

Anonymous said...

I would never go for a print on a scuba (I really don't care for scubas much, period) but I agree with another poster above - this would be super cute for speed shorts. Crossing my fingers!

Anonymous said...

Everyone said the same thing about the spring has sprung print yet it seems when people go to re-sell it, everyone wants it??

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 8:32 pm - recent prints usually resell very well.

@ anon 7:43 pm - the laceoflage and alberta lake rose herringbone are two of my favorite print scubas. Some prints are really nice - like the old enchanted manifesto. I tend not to like solid Scubas since they shows grease spots and fading very easily. I am not a big fan of striped scubas except for the multi poncho scubas.

Anonymous said...

The floral print looks pretty awful imo.

LLA - OT, but did you size up in the coco pique? Did you find them comparable in fit to the herringbone WUs (which ran small)?

Anonymous said...

Speaking of scuba's....I only own one so far and I find it bulky or kinda stiff like. Do they soften and become more pliable and comfortable with washing? I was hesitant to buy it in the first place for these same reasons. I like (not love) the style but it just isn't a go to jacket for me so far.

Anonymous said...

My all time fave item is a black Pencil Sketch Scuba. That's an amazing pattern for a jacket *sigh*

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 10:57 pm - i did not size up in the coco pique WUP. I think they fit TTS and not as snug as herringbone.

Anonymous said...

i agree that the print would be cute on shorts. i'd buy Groovys with that print.

Anon 2:44, i love my Scuba (i only have one). it is very thick and warm. i haven't had any issues with it being stiff. i did get the size i wear in CRBs, which gave me a little more room in the chest.

Anonymous said...

Will there be an upload tonight?
Thanks!

Anonymous said...

@Anom2:44 I have one Scuba and I also find it stiff and bulky feeling. The fit is off too. Too loose in some areas, but if I size down I can't zip it up. It is warm, but I will never buy another one

NYC lulu store union square is a good one, and it's in a pretty central area near a lot of subways and the holiday market in the park.
I have never had a problem with any of the educators there, everyone is polite and friendly.

8:32 I totally agree with you, whenever I wear the spring has sprung pace setter skirt, people get all excited and want it. It was one of those prints that grew on me.

This new pattern seems the same to me. I would get it in an energy bra or some boogie shorts. A jacket or pants on less it is an accent would be too much. For some reason the design of the pace setter lends itself to these sort of patterns.

Would anyone be able to give me advice on the PS WUC? I'm usually a size 4 but sometimes wear a size 6, so I'm not sure which size to try and get. Do the WUC get loose after several months/years of wear or do they retain their compressiveness?

Anonymous said...

Agreed it looks ugly and juvenile in the scuba. It looked nice on that bra. I guess we shall see. I'm happy to say my LLL spending has curbed substantially and stuff like this justs makes it way easier.

Anonymous said...

Can we have something other than a bright blue or pink? It's been blue overkill over the last year and then some (and I actually love most of the blues). I realize pink is a big seller. But c'mon. Something like Alberta lake was beautiful but they were very skimpy on it, not even a solid CRB! (I know, I know, I'll never let them live it down.) They made good moves with plum, deep zinfandel, green bean. Now let's have some cranberry red and more greens, solid camo and AB can come back for sure!

All the ebay talk confounds me. Not to be preachy, but I buy clothing to wear. In the case of lululemon clothing, I look for function & durability along with style that suits my personal tastes. If & when I need to do some spring (or other seasonal) organizing & cleaning, I give any unwanted items to friends & family. If no one wants it, I donate it. It would seem to me that the ebay opportunists (not to be confused with people who have financial need issues because they could not really afford all their purchases) are creating many of the so-called "distribution problems" for lululemon. According to educators I know, lululemon is mounting a new legal campaign to crack down on ebay scalpers. Buyer beware.

try-on report: got a big order from last week and finally tried the stuff on. for reference, i tend to be between 6 and 8 n pants, and usually end up buying 8 but then thinking they are too big.

the coco pique WUPs are definitely on the larger side - i have them in the crops in the 8 and i think they are too big, but i went and ordered the WUP in the 8 (i'm not at my thinnest right now) and they are definitely too big. on the other hand, the dark center seam looks like CT, so the smaller size would probably be worse. sadly i guess they're going back. if i get to a store i'll try the 6 but i'm not hopeful. otherwise, they are so nice! soft, not sheer, forgiving, , etc.
the high/low in the wee stripe are also on the bigger side - going to try the 6 instead of 8. the striped WUP i did get in a 6, but feel they are too small - a little shiny and somewhat sheer.
also splurged on the Bust a Move pants in an 8 - they are pretty good but the fit isn't perfect - a little loose in the waist and stiff everywhere else. i'll try them on again and maybe try a 6 in the store, but i'm pretty sure the 6 will be too constricting. i'm thinking these will got WMTM so might return and get them on MD.
happy holiday to all of you!

@ anon 8:05 pm - Savvy lulu buyers know they can get a decent amount for their used lululemon and often that factors into how much lululemon they buy throughout the year. Shelling out $99 for a Forme jacket is a lot more palatable when you resell it for 60% or more of what you paid for it. Choose the right item, such as a pique Define, for instance, and you can get 2.5 times what you paid for it. Being able to resell older lululemon for a good price means more money for new lululemon, which is how hardcore fans treat their lulu collections. The high resale value of used lululemon is one of the biggest advantages lululemon has over it's competitors.

Anonymous said...

Legal campaign? There is absolutely nothing illegal about the resale of goods unless they are counterfeit! Many people make this a business such as all the NIKE Shoe collectors lining up for
In items addition and selling them for 3 and 4 times the retail. If there is a will there is a way...

Anonymous said...

Ha! Good luck to Lululemon and their alleged 'suit' against eBay resellers. They could easily stem the problem on their end by only allowing people to buy, say, two of the same item, and only in different sizes (like buying pants in a 4 and a 6 to see which one fits, etc.). God forbid they actually make enough merchandise to meet demand. Instead they allow people to buy one (or more) of each size and fail to produce enough inventory for popular items, and that's on them. They could attempt to do something about it on their end and instead choose to do nothing.

Anonymous said...

Lululemon probably benefits from all the reselling on ebay. It re enforces their scarcity model. all those items have been bought from lulu which still make them a profit.
I have bought maybe a couple of items from ebay sellers and payed what I would at lulu or less. I would never pay some of the prices people are charging for some of the items especially jackets.

@ LLA 9:05 PM, agreed. I'm NOT an ebay seller (too much work for me!) but I do utilise Craigslist locally. One of my ads was recently flagged! I'd already had a heads up from here from that discussion about the women who got blocked (on her LLL account) from buying multiple Gratitude Wraps). I was so offended about being flagged! I'm not even a frequent reseller! I shop responsibly after the bills have been paid. Over the years I have too much. It's up to me if I want to make some money back, with some effort put in. I simply have TOO MUCH and have to start getting rid of stuff, not even for excessive prices (in fact, I know I could make more on ebay with some of what I have). Who is LLL to block my ad when I'm being responsible about letting go of stuff and cleaning out my closet? I post it and sell so I can make a little money for other things I need to put money towards, and honestly, just really for my effort and so someone locally can benefit from my good stuff.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 8:06 am - Were you selling NWT items or your used stuff? From what I understand it's best to let the NWT "age" a bit before you try to resell it.

Anonymous said...

Hi LLA, it's 8:06. All used (a few times, perfect condition) with the exception of one NWT item from summer 2012! Not even a hot item. I bought it from wmtm and never wore it. And my ad even included other non-LLL items. I guess LLL thinks people don't get rid of really good items because they no longer use or want them. Well, I now do because they are simply not getting worn or getting chosen. I don't need to hoard them. I know there is a person(s) out there who would be happy to buy item(s) that are no longer available.

They have no right to "censor" an ad. Like the women who bought multiple Gratitude Wraps, I have never sold a thing on ebay, hence there is no possible way they have a "case" against me. I haven't even sold any LLL on CL in over 2 years!

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 8:06 and 3:49 pm - What does getting your ad on Craigslist flagged mean? Did it get taken down? Did you use lululemon website stock photos? Did you get banned from buying from the website? They interfere with people being able to resell their used lululemon and they will run into a lawsuit. So many people fund new purchases by selling their older lululemon they are bored with the company should really think about this new strategy. It doesn't make any sense.
