Winter Orchid No Limits Tank, More Fit Reviews, and More

For those of you who are Astro pant fans you'll like this, the newest Raspberry and Winter Orchid waistband Astros made of Full On Luon are made in Canada. I've never liked Astro pants in the past. I've tried them on several times over the years and always thought the luon used felt thin and had bad coverage. I know, it could be just the random samples of the ones I chose to try on since I've run into the same problem with Groove pants, but I really liked the Full On Luon Astro pants I tried on today. The material felt nice and thick and the fit seemed more like the older Groove pant before they narrowed the knee. I am not that familiar with Astro fit so not sure how they fit compared to Groove but I think I am a new fan of the new Full On Luon Astros. I especially like that they are made in Canada.

The new Surge Cool Racerback is made in Canada. It was thick and soft. I didn't get it because the color doesn't appeal to me but it's a color that looks fantastic on blondes.

The Raspberry stripe and this new Winter Orchid Stripe Power Y are made of full weight luon. Love that some prints are being offered in the full weight luon Power Ys these days. I am just not a fan of the light luon Power Ys. I bought the Purple Striped one today.

The tag in the Full On Luon Yeah Yoga crop. I liked the full on luon fabric in these crops - opaque, good coverage, soft, and no sheen.

This is a photo of the inside of the black Base Runner Pant. It's the same rulu used in one of the Vinyasa scarves.

I tried on the latest winter run stuff - the Base Runner LS, and the Fluff Off Jacket, Vest, and Pullover. I liked the Base Runner LS and thought it fit a clingy TTS. It wasn't reversible like the Turn Around LS and I didn't love the obvious technical look to it so I left it at the store and came home with a Raspberry Open Your Heart LS instead.  I really like my Inkwell OYH and have been wearing it a lot. Of all the Fluff Off stuff and Fleecy Keen jacket I liked the vest the best. The jacket was really nice but I wasn't a huge fan of how the rows of quilting got wider in back. I thought it visually widened me and I need more narrowing in that area. I thought the PO and jacket fit TTS if you weren't going to layer anything under it or just wear a thin layer like a Swiftly. Same thing with the Fleecy Keen - a snug TTS. I tried everything on with a sports bra. I thought the vest fit TTS.

The rows of quilting get wider from waist to bottom hem.

Yeah Yoga Tank and Crop.

So far, the Raspberry No Limit is only in Canadian stores and check out the cute new Winter Orchid/Deep Zinfandel No Limit Tank. This was uploaded to the Hong Kong website. I think I like this better than the Raspberry but I kind of like both.

Also uploaded to Hong Kong were Deep Zinfandel/Gros Gingham Speed Shorts.

This surge run hat is super cute.

Pretty new Deep Zinfandel/Winter Orchid Vinyasa Scarf.

Some photos of the Raspberry Open Your Heart LS popped up.

I'm just confused. I thought I was told that the jacket was TTS and the vest ran small. N

I don't know. The vest seemed TTS on me but I don't have a big back or shoulders. There are stretchy side panels on the vest. I tried it on with the Open Your Heart LS underneath. I couldn't layer a scuba under it or anything but for a thicker ls shirt the fit seemed fine.

Thank you LLA. I guess the side panels make a difference. N

@9:52PM

I bought the white vest today. It ran small for me. I'm 5'6" 125 lbs, 34D. I'm between a 6 and an 8 in jackets, depending on the style. I tried the vest and it was very sung. My chest felt felt too constricted. Took the 8 home. Love it.

I tried the jacket in a size 6. It fit perfectly.

I tried the pullover hoodie in a 6. It felt just right.

Forgot to add I also bought the L/S Base Runner in the surge/inkwell stripe.

Beautiful color combo.

The rulu is light weight, not brushed. Super soft, super comfortable. The other 3 colors (mini check piques) are thicker due to the pique stitch. I'm not a huge fan of how the white lightens up the color so much. Typically, I prefer solids. In this style I prefer the stripe.

The fit is very flattering. Gently hugs the curves.

I went with a size 6.

According to heylululemon, they are finally getting rid of luon light power Y's and bringing back the normal luon both in store and online :)

Would love to see more base runner pant photos!

Thank you for your awesome fit reviews as usual! I felt the base runner ls on Monday but did not try it on because I didn't have a lot of time. It seemed like a very thick, tight knit pique and I can understand why it is slim fitting because of that.

I'm interested in the Yeah Yoga crops in BB deep zin so I appreciate your comments on the fit and flattering seaming. Hoping the store I visit today has them because the store I was at earlier in the week did not. I'm lucky to have two stores very close to me and a third not that far away!

I also finally tried on the pique forme jacket on Monday and now I get all the hype. It's a pretty sweet little jacket and the pique is amazing! It's like a warm hug for your body. I did not buy it but trust me - it is in the back of my mind calling me daily!! I may cave and get it. If they still have it that is...

The jacket runs a bit small. I always wear sz6 in tops/jackets so I didn't even think too much about it. But now that I brought it home, it does run a bit small. Not sure is sz8 would be too big, I'm keeping sz6, with not too many layers underneath it looks great on :)

I also tried on the Fluff off vest and got my usual size because of the stretchy sides. LLA did you need to size up in the power Y Tank because it is LUON? Thanks!

LLA I searched for older Surge items in your blog to find out if a top I have is indeed Surge. You mentioned before that Surge looks good on blondes..(I agree however I'm not blonde) You also stated you were buying the Surge hat to match a Surge jacket you have.....did you decide later that you didn't like the color on you? I think it's so weird that people buy the same thing you buy at LLL, I realize that after reading all the comments, especially when they want to know what color you have, the item is one thing but c'mon

Hip Hip Hooray!! All Lululemon should be MADE in Canada & USA keep the jobs here not overseas where the factory conditions are horrendous no matter what they say!

I tried on some of the new items yesterday in my Seattle area store. 1) base runner LS- tts, but so annoyed that they aren't Turn Around LS. Waste of reversible pique fabric, as I prefer the stripe side. Didn't care for the material at the collarbone and armpits- too obviously technical wear, and one already had a pick in that ribbed material. Got the striped rulu one. It's thinner than the rulu in the Full Tilt, but it's super cute and not as contrast looking in the technical parts. 2) Vest- tight TTS but I didn't like the zipper and they didn't wow me more than the previous two years' running vests I own. 3) Jacket- TTS, size up was too puffy. I got the black to think about. Wish the purple was prettier. 4) Didn't try the pullover, I much prefer down with zippers. 5) got a grey pique neck warmer, soft and warm. 6) Got the cornflower Raindrop jacket on MD, I think it's super cute and Flattering TTS. $200 was crazy tho, $129 much better. Didn't see the Cozy sweatpants, I've been curious to see what they look like.

I tried on one of my old size 8 push UR limit tanks today and realized they are kind of short. it looks from the photo above that the new ones also hit just below the waist. anyone have any input on that? i really prefer my tanks a bit longer, so might have to pass on these after all. (i'm 5' 7", size 6-8) was so excited to try the new ones!

@ anon 5:54 am - I have never bought anything Surge though I've tried it on a bunch of times. It's just not a color that appeals to me. I didn't get the hat but just thought it was pretty and looked warm. My store didn't get those hats yet.

@ anon 7:11 am - I was thinking the same thing about not being able to reverse to the stripe side - I really liked the stripes in the Zinfandel one. I am dying to try the Cozy sweats, too, but none of my stores has it.

@ anon 7:12 am - The Push isn't a super long tank but I don't think it's as short as it used to be. It hits me in between my hip bones and crotch.

@ anon 10:40 pm- ooh, thanks! I noticed the new Winter Orchid Scoop Neck tank is made of regular luon, too. Did they say that Scoop Neck tanks will also be made of full weight luon, too?

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 6:18 am - I agree. I think it would be a great PR move for lulu to move manufacturing back to North America.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 5:43 am - No, because the full weight luon holds you in better. The lightweight would just cling to my mushy belly - since I size it for the best bra fit and not belly fit - and highlight it. It was awful.

What's the story on the pants the girl is wearing in the mats header on the lulu site ? They look interesting.

OT but has anyone tried the new runday crops? I tend to like the higher rise but I would want them for crossfit so need them to be opaque.

@LLA from anon 5:54am I was talking about an old post August 25, 2011 where you stated that you "ordered the Surge Featherweight hybrid jacket and you already have the Surge cap" not the new pique Surge toque
So maybe you returned them and forgot about it but it's there in black and white lol

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 8:45 am - OMG, you are right! I did order that Surge jacket a long time ago. I ended up returning it. I do have a Surge Sea Spray cap, too, that I never wear. I don't have any Surge clothes, though. This is what happens when you too much lulu you forget about it.

I think the surge color will look great on just about anyone. it is such a beautiful vibrant color. I have dark brown hair and in summer my skin gets quite dark and in winter I am a light olive color. I hope I am not delusional, but the surge color works for me. I think it will also look great on darker color skin.

Thank you so much for the info :)

I love the color surge, & I think it looks great on the redhead wearing a toque in surge. So much so, that being a bright redhead myself, I bought one today! Also got the new winter orchard/ deep Zinfandel vinyasa, & it is one of my favorites out of the 20 or so I have (scarf addict). I would love to see a pic of the base runner 1/2 zip on someone, my stores didn't have it yet & I would like to order it if someone could tell me about the fit ect..

Anonymous said...

4:01 I just ordered the base runner half zip in the surge color. I will let everyone know how it fits.
I am petite 5'-3" 166# and 34D sometimes DD.
