NEW! Virasana Wrap and More Photos of the Latest

Black Beautiful Baroque CRB. I cannot wait until this CRB comes to the US. It's super pretty. I bought the Deep Zinfandel BB WUP today and they were 88% polyester so I assume the black and inkwell versions of this print are similar. The Deep Zinfandel was nicely thick and not at all sheer, even when stretched. (I'm going to do a separate post about this later today. I also tried on the Full On Luon Skinny Grooves and Wunder Unders just to cement how I feel about the fabric/styles and will comment on that later.)

New french terry Virasana Wrap.

I tried these on today and liked them but since I unexpectedly bought the Beautiful Baroque WUs I think I will be returning the ones I ordered. I already have the black WAFs Groovy runs so don't need another black pair. I also thought the plaid looked a bit like men's boxers on me.

The Deep Zinfandel Rose Herringbone print and Raspberry scubas. My store had these Scubas today.

Calm and Cozy sweat pants and the Open Your Heart LS. I was hoping to try the pants on today but my store didn't have them yet.

Deep Zinfandel In the Flow crops.

I think the new wrap should be called the Sativa Wrap...

I bought the full on luon WU pant today!!! the compression is spot on and they are very opaque. I had been wearing the zella live in leggings for about 9 months (don't worry, i regularly washed them lol didn't wear them for 9 months straight haha), and they were starting to feel as though they had lost their compression. i tried a pair of the target premium champion pants, and they were horrible. the way the seemed lined up in the [i dont know an internet appropriate word for this area] made me look like i had a camel toe, and it had a family.

lulu really knows how to make a good pant, especially when they have their you know what together.

my store had trickles of the new stuff in... including the raspberry WUP. i didn't try them on, but i personally wasn't impressed with the color.

When I see the new wrap I can only think it was inspired by Karl Lagerfeld's iconic high collar shirt. I want to see how that collar looks when not folded, probably like a funnel head, or one of those cones one put around a dog's neck after a surgery.

OT, but can anyone explain why the baroque forme is listed as *textured? What does it look/feel like? Thanks!

LLA, how much is the Virasana wrap? I'm hoping to see it heathered deep zinfandel.....

@ anon 2:43 pm - I liked the Full On Luon WUP a lot.

Can someone find out what is going on with lulu site. I no longer see diffinate views of the items. Can't see what anything looks like from the back. They really need to fix things.

Just got a PN that listed the Virasana wrap in three colors:

heathered deep zinfandel
heathered medium grey/silver spoon
heathered black/black

Hoping that the price point isn't really bad because the deep zinfandel looks awesome!

Does anyone understand the legality of trademarking something like "Luon," but then being able to use it to market and describe a wide variety of fabric blends? Isn't the whole point of trademarking that you have legal right to use the word to me an specific thing?

As in, how can they list things as Luon (which is trademarked to mean a fabric that is a blend of lycra and spandex) when they are polyester? Isn't that a deceptive practice?

Are those deep zin skinny wills?

I'm surprised the Beautiful Baroque CRB is still available on the Canadian site (currently in sizes 2 & 4). I'm Canadian and purchased it in size 4 about 8 a.m. the morning of the upload. I don't stay up for uploads either, so this is one I thought I might have had to go to the store for. I think it's pretty and will be one of the coveted ones. I'm glad to get it at regular retail! I also like that it sort of has the "camo" feel. I appreciate as well that LLL is going into neutrals (grey, black) and giving us deep zinfandel, after all that crazy florescent stuff from the not so distant past. I still wish for an Alberta Lake CRB!

Interesting. And I thought it was only LLL.

I really want the new reversible WUs (raspberry/black combo), but if you look closely at the picture on the lulu website, you can see the pink stitching on the black side! Is that normal for reversible WUs? I don't own a pair, but I am really tempted by these! I just won't spend $90 some on a pair that shows pink stitching...

The Open Your Heart LS would nice without that hideous striped collar. UGH. It makes the shirt look like something I could pick up at Target.

@ anon 5:23 pm - I read about that. They should really hire a PR firm/get a PR expert.

@ anon 5:23 pm - Yes, unfortunately. I don't know if it's a design decision but often the colored thread show through on the black side.

@ anon 5:02 pm - Nah, it's an epidemic. Go to the gym or a race or just walking around the mall - you'll see more than you ever wanted to. And, honestly, a lot is caused by being in the wrong size.

@anon 3:34 pm - could you post the link to your pn? would love to see the photos of the colors of the virasana wrap. thanks!

I think this new wrap is very sleek looking, if it makes to WMTM I will definitely get one. The reason I will not pay full price is that I am waiting for my GW.

OT: look at the mirror/painting in the picture of a model holding a travel mug and wearing a poppy. It freaked me out.

@ anon 5:02pm -- i've seen a woman wearing under armor crops before in class. she bent over and... i think you know where this is going.

side note, if people are going to wear sheer pants can they please wear underwear? under armor lady included.

@ anon 5:39 pm

I TOTALLY agree! I was waiting for someone to make a comment about that. I love the solid sides of the Open Your Heart LS but sadly the striped collar choice on the solid side ruins it for me :( It's so unfortunate because the fit looks so flattering.

Why are there no pictures of the black Open your heart LS? Is it bad?

I need that French Terry Virasana Wrap! Release more warm clothes instead of CRBs please (although baroque CRB is a nice one).

Meh, I don't agree so much with the people have the wrong size on and that's why it's sheer explanation. When I try to size up to avoid that problem, the next size is obviously too big. I made the mistake once sizing up to avoid sheerness and ended up constantly pulling up my running crops the entire run despit cinching the drawstring to the max. Now I just have a pair of crops I never wear. Some of there stuff is just too sheer. I don't expect them to hides underwear perfectly in deep bends, esp loud colors and prints. But some if the sheerness is ridiculous and because the knit of the fabric isn't tight enough and some of the designs don't accommodate the hip area well. I just don't buy anything too sheer, so end the end making sheer pants saves me money anyway lol!

@anon 6:10pm -

Here you go: http://www.lululemon.com/products/womens/tops/jackets_vests/10_40_13_rd3we2_A113_HTDZ_DPZI&store_id=59

It only shows the zinfandel version, but on the PN, it said the three colors were available.

LuluAddict said...

@ Ljg680 - for sure. There were tons of light colored items that were super sheer this summer - the bleached coral pants - for instance, or, the white bottoms. The black ziggy print is on the sheer side.

Lulu definitely played with the knit on the black luon over the years but I'm not sure the full on luon is the final answer. The Skinny Grooves, which I kind of hated, had 81% nylon and the full on luon WUP, which I really liked, had 82% nylon so now I have to hunt for specific full on luon blends that work for me. However, that isn't really anything new, I've been cherry picking the feel/look of black luon for a good three or so years now.

OT - The Fromme textured is currently stocked in all sizes on the U.S Site!!!

Luluaddict: This is what I am finding Lululemon is making alot of their pants with nylon, it makes the material not breathable imo, pants should be polyester and lycra nothing else like other brands UA, Nike dryfit etc.

That's interesting 6:27, I didn't even notice that. I did notice she is wearing a poppy and I thought that's nice to see, Re: Canadian Remembrance Day coming up Nov. 11.

As for sheerness on bottoms. We all know they've messed with the formula for the luon or they lost it in through the manufacturing process. They can print all the "propaganda" they want, i.e. a thousand things go wrong in manufacturing. Hmm, how about quality control! But gey, maybe some factories they had were better than others. Don't think it was a problem when made in Canada though.

On body shapes, the inference they are making is pretty clear, and of course, can be considered rude. I'm a size 4 and yes, definitely over the years certain bottoms CAN be sheer even on me, and sizing up is not the answer. I simply don't buy bottoms that much anymore. Yes, there is a difference in the old luon vs recent years. I'll look at full-on luon but I'm not swooning or anything. It's definitely a ploy. I also agree, please wear underwear! And finally, if the pant/bottom is sheer even when standing, walking around, check yourself in the mirror before you go out. Don't wear a waist level top that leaves your bottom and nether regions on display for the whole world. Never mind yoga class, I'm not even trying to look and you see women walking around in public all lalala oblivious. Seen on ladies of various sizes and while I think that's not what they're going for and am embarrassed for them, then I think: hey, maybe that's what they're going for and they think they've got it going on. It's just not decent.

OT - I received my Pique forme on Tuesday and I think i like it quite a lot. I haven't had a bunch of time to really check it out but my first impression is good. I got a 12 though I usually wear a 10 in most tops and it seems to fit without being too tight. I'll be able to wear a light layer under it and that is perfect. I also got the paisely CRB and the jury is out on that one. I'm going to look these items over closely this weekend and make the final call then. This last upload I got the open your heart LS in the zin color in my regular size 10. I'm looking forward to seeing what it is like.

I haven't been able to get to the store for a few weeks due to logistics and being on travel for work so I haven't been able to see anything in person until it shows up on my doorstep.

Does anyone have any feedback on the raindrop jacket? I've been considering it in the blue color but I really wanted to try it on in person. I have the puddle jumper in a size 12 so I can layer it and I was wondering if this jacket fit the same. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Why does the Forme II - Textured jacket in the baroque print have a rose-colored zipper?! It looks hideous!!

Anyone notice the Fullux Full on Luxtreme WUP and crops are on the LLL site?

@ 4:10 nylon breathes better than polyester it also wicks better and doesn't retain odor as much. lulu has been using mostly nylon and lycra for years.

anon 7:45 nylon does not breathe better than polyester. I wear Nike Dryfit and UA with no problem when working out, with Lulu I sweat big time, the reason the nylon content in the clothing. It is only recently the last 2 yrs that Lulu has changed the content, I did not have a problem before that.

LuluAddict said...

I tend to like the feel of most nylon things better than polyester - like luxtreme or swiftly - but I think polyesters are getting better. I am wearing a Disney Dumbo race shirt that I ordered from the runDisney site and it's very silky feeling.

Here is an older post I did about polyester vs. nylon:http://luluaddict.blogspot.com/2010/12/info-about-polyester-vs-nylon.html

Some excerpts:

Breathability
It is the weave of the fabric (the size and number of holes) that determines breathability or resistance to air movement. Any woven or knit fabric will breathe - even if the weave is made of rubber strands.

Polyester vs Nylon
Polyester fabrics perform better than nylon for moisture management because polyester is more hydrophobic. Nylon threads will absorb more water than Polyester, water requires more heat energy to warm than does air, so nylon will feel colder when wet, and stay wet longer, and when saturated impede breathability.

The down-side for polyester is odor retention, and durability (Nylon lasts longer).

Feel

During the early years, nylon was always considered a smoother and softer fabric than polyester. Nylon was created as a substitute for silk and it shows in its soft, lustrous feel. From its inception, polyester has always been a rougher fabric than nylon, hence its original use in outerwear garment and suits. The refined manufacturing capabilities of today have resulted in softer polyester that in many ways matches nylon and certainly the softness of cotton.

Durability

Both nylon and polyester are strong and lightweight due to their polymer-based construction. Nylon is the stronger of the two fabrics with greater stretchability. Though not as strong, polyester resists pilling better than nylon, which is when fibers unravel and ball up at the end. While this does not weaken the garment physically, it is not attractive aesthetically.

Water-Wicking Ability

When it comes to fast-drying fabrics, polyester has the edge. Both are naturally hydrophobic, which mean they expel water, ideally to the surface of the garment where it will evaporate. Nylon actually absorbs some water, which means it takes longer for a wet garment to dry.

Wow - Thanks for the nylon vs. poly info! Very interesting. I just bought the midnight iris CRB and wore it once for casual wear under a french terry long sleeve sweatshirt and didn't have any problems with pilling or scratchiness. I read the reviews on the lll website for it and many people seem to have these two issues with it.

I also just ordered the paisely CRB which I'm assuming is also mostly polyester.

@MacFrannie - please update us on what you decide to do with your paisely CRB and if you keep it and work out in it I'd love to have your feedback!

Regarding sheerness - it's definitely not just lll. I've seen other brands of pants and lots of no name brands (no visible logos) that are totally sheer at my gym. I agree that it is indecent to walk around like that and also indecent to not do your own bend test at home to check this crap out! I mean really, I've been horrified by what I've seen at times. I also don't have the balls to go up to someone and say hey do you know your pants are totally see through!

Hi LLA!
Did you end up reviewing the Deep Zinfandel BB WUP?
They look gorgeous! Are they indeed keepers?

I got the dark grey virasana wrap in my store tonight.. it's very structured and WARM. it's flattering and doesn't look like a burlap sack like some of the other wraps. I'm between an 8/10 and the 8 was definitely more flattering. I'd caution the broader-shouldered ladies about snug fit in that area.. and it didn't matter in the 8 or 10.. it is GORGEOUS. I can't wait to wear it with WUPs and riding boots! new favorite coat. PS charlotte NC store only had light and dark grey, not the deep Zin... but they had one of every size and a couple 4s and 6s. must've just unpacked today. cheers!
