Woah, wrap fail x2. Yuck.

Chip wilson stuck his foot in his mouth again regarding the pantgate problem, now he is blaming the SIZE of the customer for the sheerness of the luon. CTV News is the news source. Good grief, blaming the customer is getting a little old, after years of being a customer I am done with Lulu. I can no longer support a company who has this attitude towards its customers.

Question: The product notification for my local store had the nice asana jacket coming in raspberry (a blonde model), but it looks like online the color is raspberry glo light (brunette model). Can anyone confirm whether it is coming in both colors? Thanks!

Just saw this wrap in my store today and YUCK it looks like a straight jacket from a psych ward. There was someone trying on and they were commenting to the ED how heavy it was and asked if it was an outdoor jacket. Easy pass for me. I did pick up,the WUP in the Zinfandel BB print.....love these. And also a beanie Knit Happens in Zinfandel (this color isn't online yet)

Anon 9:33: I'm on the same page - I just can't support this guys bank account any more. His political comments (from Ayn Rand propaganda on the shopping bags to condoms and needles on another), sexist and foolish comments about the customer's physique, unacceptable quality, and declining customer service force me to turn away. I have been such a big and loyal customer - it's going to be an adjustment for me!

I just got the Virasana Blanket wrap in deep zinfandel at my local store and I absolutely love it (ripped the tags off in the car)! It is $148.

I have an older Savasana Wrap circa 2010/2011. In that I took a size 2. I tried on the 2 in the Virasana, but the fabric is much thicker and the doesn't stretch in the same manner. The 2 was a bit too tight in the hips and across the back of the shoulders (couldn't move my arms well), so I sized up to a 4 which fits nicely (I'm 5'0" and 105lbs). The sleeves aren't absurdly long which is nice, and while they are slim cut they have stretchy panels in them which help give. I love that they used a 2 way zipper on this jacket as well. The pockets are nice and very deep (the left one has an extra built in pocket for an iPhone or such) and the way things were constructed there are sorta pockets on the inside of the jacket.

The light grey and dark grey were nice as well, but I have so many jackets in those colors that they don't really interest me. The deep zinfandel is a nice different color and since it is on the darker side it shouldn't show much dirt.

I ran out to my local store at lunch and tried a few things on.

I wanted to love the Virasana Blanket Wrap from the photos - but no luck. I tried it on in my regular size and a size down and it was just unflattering in the middle. It's too bad it couldn't be nipped in at the waist some how.It was warm and soft on the inside, but the fabric seemed a little stiff. It was $148.

The Deep Zinfandel Rose Herringbone Scuba was SO pretty and soft. It's a bit louder in real life then I got from the photos. I passed because I have the midnight iris scuba and they seemed too similar.

The open your heart LS was wonderful. Very soft and warm. I happen to like the striped seams on the solid side. I sized down and it fit perfect. It is REALLY long, though. I'm 5 4 and the tail went well passed my bum.

My only purchase of the day was the rain drop jacket in cornflower. I had been wanting this, but wasn't willing to pay $200. Luckily, it was marked down (just the cornflower) to $129!

Anon 9:33: I'm on the same page as well. I saw the interview and the guy is such a jerk. He said that he has too much money to run the company and that the clothing was not for women whose thigh's rub. What a doofus.

I tried some stuff from sweaty betty in the new store in soho, ny but really not good fabrics. I am really liking the brand yogasmoga. I got their leggings and like the quality and the message of the company. I wish they come out with new stuff. Do people know about them? I want to send them a shout-out for quality product and a soulful message.

What I think is funny about the size thing is... I am a solid size 4. Very rarely have sized down to a 2 for things like the savasana wrap and DSPs. When I go and put a 4 on in the store now the eds all tell me that it fits great. But a year, two years ago (I was the exact same size then) the eds were constantly telling me to size down to a 2. I was always saying no, that's too tight for me! So I guess this has made them not want to put people in smaller sizes than they really are. Lol. I mean if women were wearing pants too small I could see it partly being the fault of the eds' advice.

@ anon 11:35 am - Interesting point. I'm sure they've been coached on fit up the wazoo lately. Also, the fabric used to have more stretch before it went sheer so maybe it was ok to tell people to size down in the past. ;-)

I thought the skinny grooves were so cute until all these photos of them with sneakers. I'm glad people are taking some pics with sneakers. Makes a huge difference in how flattering they are. I don't work out barefoot so they are of no use to me and I'm glad I know that now.

I have been a size 4 in lululemon since day 1. I still find that all of lululemons pants and crops fit the same as they always did in size 4. Recently I went into a store and picked up the ziggy wunder unders in size 4 and took them to the register. The salesperson held them up and said to me "Are you sure these are going to fit you?" Not sure what their approach is to helping customers with sizing but looking at me and saying that was certianly not very nice! Still a loyal fan and have only had a bad experience with sheerness/quality once since last year. My local store gave me a gift certificate for the item (it was on WMTM).

The new wool winter orchid scarf is beautiful. I just can't spend $80 on it now, though. I did buy my SIL the newer Rulu Vinyasa scarf in the black and soot stripe. It is very cute. I think she'll love it!

Did I miss WMTM upload?

I tried on the open your heart today and it was a regular size item for me. I tried it on in a 4 and it was very nicely fitted through the body although I would have preferred it to be just a tad longer. It covered my bum but I wouldn't mind having another inch or so in length. It was definitely warm and cozy but I just wasn't in the mood to drop that much on it. They also didn't have my size in the inkwell which is the color I'd get.

Also tried on the skinny grooves and am pretty sure I could see skin through them. This was my first full luon experience and I wasn't impressed. My old WUC are thicker than these were. I tried o the solid black. Otherwise the fit was great. But whoever posted about them not looking good with sneakers - I completely agree. They did look cute with my ballet flats.

There was a WMTM upload today. The only thing I picked up was a serene short sleeved which was dropped in price from 39 down to 29. I think this will look cute with some skinny jeans.

@Kristen. Thanks for the info on the rain drop jacket price drop. I'm hoping it will make it to wmtm since they never had this in my store. Was the jacket a size up item for you?

Thanks!!

Wow overboard on the collar of the new wrap! It looks ridiculous.
I do love the purple toque, scarf & mittens! So cute! I'll probably get those..everything else pass. The skinny grooves don't appeal to me, probably because I'm only 5'4 they would look sloppy.
I don't like raspberry, something about the color is a bit off for me. It's a bit bland no matter who's wearing it.

I'm glad I don't like tanks with built in support anymore. However, that does screw me since I'm pretty much a CRB addict!

Liking the look of the beautiful baroque in deep zinfandel, maybe I'll check it out.

That Virasana wrap does not appeal to me in the slightest. I think it is very unflattering.

Calm & Cozy pant pic, yeah just my fear, very clear X in the middle of the a$$. Not cool. Other than that, I bet they're awesome. I'm not coining out that much money to wear them around the house.

Did you get the BB WUP in the US or Canada?
Thanks!

Store Visit/Try-on Report: Had an appointment "near" a store today, so made a little detour to do some un-shopping and try on some new things. Had a Pique Forme to return (too big!), a pair of high/low WUP in ziggy september black to discuss (noticed they were sheer the moment AFTER i ripped off the tags), and a decision to make about ziggy october inkwell high/lows and inkwell skinny wills.

Tried the skinny grooves in 6 and 8. I liked the 8 but the educator said they were too big, and I felt like the 6s were too constricting, so I took neither. The Aria tank was nice but too big on top (or too small on the bottom) - very nice material and colors, pretty fitted on the bottom, and I was feeling un-svelte so I didn't like that today. Seemed like it had decent support when I sized down. They didn't have the Push UR Limits which is what I really wanted.

They were pretty OK about the sheer WUPs - I had tried all of the bend tests before I took the tags off but then right after I did I happened to look in the mirror from the side and saw the contrast between my leg skin and my underwear. They took them back but wouldn't give me store credit - only let me swap them out. Since I didn't find anything new that I wanted/needed today (hard to resist the zinfandel ebb and flow crops!), they let me return the inkwell skinny wills and buy them again as an exchange for the sheer WUPs.
I still think the october zippy inkwells were ok/not sheer, but decided to keep the wills only and be frugal. Ended up about $350 "ahead" today....
this is my protest against the Dallas Debacle and all other issues I have with Lulu! ;-) Seriously, I am hoping this will be the start of a Lulu Hiatus.

Addendum to store report: I touched the Virasana wrap and it felt pretty stiff. Did not entice me to try it and it looks kind of shapeless around the middle in the photos here.

Also overheard 2 different people trying that Enfold wrap and it sounded like it was not a hit. (Tight arms, hard to get it to fit right, black isn't really black.)

@ 11:24 AM, Re: yogasmoga, do people know? I think you need to do a key word search on this blog to answer your own question.

I do like my Run Jump n Play crops. Thanks LLA for the discount :)

@macfrannie

The raindrop jacket was pretty much true to size. I'm usually a 4/6 for tops (i'm a 34A for reference) and 6/8 for bottoms at lulu (pear shape) . The 6 fit great through the shoulders, chest and torso. A little long in the arms, but I tend to like that in a jacket. It just fits around my hips ( - there will be no room for holiday weight gain this year!

I haven't run with it yet, so I'll see how that goes. I felt like I had full range of movement through the arms, though.

An 8 would have been way too big through the shoulders and chest so I didn't bother to try going up a size since the 6 just fit around the hips.

@ anon 3:51 am - That thought crossed my mind, too, particularly since the company just emailed me about their upcoming new release. I'll allow it once since I do like their stuff. Who knows, maybe they'll give us another discount. ;-)

I was asking about Yoga Smoga the other day and I don't work for their firm, I teach fitness in the boonies in Canada.

I'm sure that they would have updated their FB page rather than posting on this forum if they had time to plug their stuff.

that wrap is super ugly and looks like it will look old and tattered in a matter of weeks.
