Black Pique Luon Wunder Under Pants and More

The Heathered Gray/Raspberry Open Your Heart LS. I took the tags off my Raspberry/Guava Lava one the other day. I have two of these now, the other is the Inkwell one, and love them for cooler weather. They are a great casual piece and I love them with jeans. I did size down a size from my CRB size, though.

This week I got the Practice Daily Tank in Surg, Navy Practice Daily Crop, Happy Hatha Hour Bag. Wanted to try the Skinny Will pants but have too many similar styles. May consider Open Your Heart LS. It looks nice.

I just tried to leave a review on Lulu's page, and noticed they have removed the "body type" selection in the review section. Anyone else notice this? Strange...I wonder why they would remove this.

I broke down & ordered the heathered gray/raspberry open your heart LS. It is the only color that I really liked both sides, so I justified the expense that it's really like getting 2 shirts lol. Definitely a size down item.

I'm wearing an old pair of gray space dye WUC today. They are sooo soft, thick and flattering. I tried on the new black pique luon skinny wills the other day & the fabric was such a disappointment. Thin, scratchy, shows every flaw. I'm guessing the WUP will be the same.

LLA - you said you sized down from your CRB size for the OYH long sleeve.....I wear a 6 in CRB's and an 8 in the cabin ls and every yogi ls. I swam in the 8 OYH ls in the store and they did not have a size 6, but I ordered a 6 online. Should I have ordered a 4?????? I have broad shoulders and 34C and small waist. Love your blog BTW.

Just making sure I'm not crazy! The US side has a RULU BLEACHED CORAL VINYASA SCARF!??!!

Did canada miss it!?

I tried on the WUC in the pique luon today. Zero compression and I could see the hang tag when I bent halfway over. Equally unimpressed with shiny and slightly sheer Skinny Wills in wee stripe (or whatever new one is). Zinfandel practice daily crops were opaque, but a little too busy with the pockets and the different fabric on the cuffs (if that makes sense).

I got my practice daily pants in inkwell today. They are going back :( First of all, there were like 4 different thick threads hanging off of the seam where the satin rouching is. They were easy to snip off, but it didn't exactly instill confidence in me that these will hold up well. Anyway, I am between a 4-6 & ordered a 6. The fit is good, very comfortable & flattering. The full-on luon feels very nice & makes my legs/butt look great. I did a deep bend & the hang tag was clearly visible :( This was not a deal breaker for me because I can't see working out in these... but be aware if that is your plan. The reason I will be returning these is I think they have too much going on. The satin ruching would have been enough, but they had to add a whole bunch of seams going down the front & back that just make them look weird IMO. It's a shame because these had great potential! I love the pockets & the length is pretty good, although at 5'5" I may have had them hemmed a couple of inches, but it wouldn't have been a necessity like with the skinny wills.

I also got my ivivva orchid pique reversible scarf. Omg love!!! I would like to wear this thing every day for the rest of my life, please :) I will be returning my deep zin vinyasa since I don't need both & I like the size of the ivivva scarf better, although it will break my heart because that vinyasa is gorgeous. The vinyasa would be amazing for travel & covering up but I don't find it functional as a scarf, just too much material for me. For $50 it's not worth it sitting in my closet except for the few times a year I travel.

Hope that helps someone! :)

Oh man, I would love if the herringbone WU came out in deep Zinfandel. Fingers crossed!

Store try on report. I only had 30 min so it was a quickie:

Fleecy Keen jacket - they had the Zinfandel and yes it's a gorgeous color. The Fleece is nice and thick. Don't really care for the double zipper but you could remove the inner zipper - it zips off. Tried on my regular size 4 and it fits snug, can't really wear anything under except for swiftly LS. Tried on size 6 and it fits better. The biggest problem is the zipper on the bicep area. It hits me at the elbow crease and is very uncomfortable. Not sure if others have this issue. I don't think my arms are tthat short. I'm 5'3", 115.

Run Day Crop - the high rise is nice. The luxtreme is thick and was not sheer. Tried my TTS 4 (what I wear in WUC). The zipper w/ ruching is very cute but I don't really like the mesh under the zipper not sure what that is for. I don't really need any more crops... I seem to gravitate to WUC w/ prints anyhow.

Practice Daily Crops - very cute too. Tried on my TTS 4 and the fit was good- compressive and opaque. Cute detail on the calf area.

Regarding the YogaSmoga from the 2nd batch when it was released. I love the blue crops. I initially bought the pink crop in Size 2 (because I thought it was a size down) and the were too tight. Also I didn't love the color as much. I emailed them and they gladly exchanged it for the blue in size 4. The pink was a little sheer but maybe it was because it was in the wrong size. The blue color is gorgeous. The fit is perfect. The only place where I think they need tweaking is the elastic around the calf. Still a little bit tight. The seam placement on the buttock is great. There are some crops (Lulu) where the seams lie right at the tailbone area and rub on it during sit ups. I would definitely buy more crops in other colors.

A bit off topic, but I just wanted to share my thoughts on the Runday crop. Mine just arrived today, and I don't like them at all. The Luxtreme has some sheerness to it (OK for running, probably not for anything else), but the fabric is so thin that I can see lumps and bumps on my backside. Sometimes that happens for me on bad Luxtreme batches, so I wouldn't recommend these. I bought the black with the baroque design at the waist.
I thought these fit a generous TTS, and were a full length tight on my 5'3" frame.
They're going right back. :(

@ anon 2:06 pm - It depends on how you want the fit. I did not want an over-sized fit. The biggest reason I sized down was the length. It was pretty long on me in the next size up, the sleeves were pretty long and it was kind of loose around the middle. I would guess the blonde girl in the top photo is probably in her CRB size in the shirt.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 3:42 pm - agree that the Practice Daily crops are kind of busy in the colors but I ended up getting a pair in black today. I thought with the compressiveness and seaming across the rear and down the leg they were very figure flattering. I tried on the Deep Zinfandel ones but I just can't pull the trigger on a solid pair of purple pants for myself, though I really like my Beautiful Baroque ones.

I received my Black Pique Luon Skinny Wills today. I compared the fabric to my old grooves in the same pattern. It seems like the Wills may be slightly thinner but it is hard to tell if maybe that is because they are the skinnier style or haven't been washed yet? Could that make the fabric fluff a little bit? They are soft and have mild compression; I do like them for the most part. Since I have until January to decide, I may keep the tag on in case they come out with a Zinfandel Herringbone pant. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being awful and 10 being best ever, I would give them a 6 or possibly 6.5.

@2:06pm OYH tank is definitely a two size down. I am also a 34C (typically a 6) and I have three of them in size 2.

Haven't they done enough of the herringbone in black & greys? How about inkwell or other colors? I have a pair of WUP herringbone from a year or so ago and so nice and soft with no sheerness at all. BTW where oh where is the Gratitude Wrap??

Anonymous said...

Maybe I should finally get a pair of herringbone WU pants. I've had the chance before (I know these go fast). I don't know why I haven't. I guess it's because outside of working out, I don't wear leggings. I wouldn't wear these ones for working out. I can do the whole legging/sweater/tall boot look.

LLA, love your post its the best! With Thanksgiving coming up soon and all the sales around Thursday & Friday what is the best way to score deals at LULULEMON? Do they have specials and if so what time do they place them on line? Thank you!!

Hello. Would there be an angel out there that could sent a surge what the fluff pullover in surge 6 to canada? Let me know. My email is jenn@skyeye.ca

I bought the skinny will luon black pique, I found it very soft, and not sheer at all.. It's thinner than pique material that's released back in October, but I love it and will keep it.

Anonymous said...

@LLA any idea when the brisk blossom WUPs are going to be released??

Regarding Yogasmoga sizing I would stick with what your size is in Lulu. I got a pair in the first production run and there was a little bit of room around the knees and excess fabric around the crotch area. The new production run is much snugger and fits like a second skin - no looseness around knees or crotch area. I wear a Size 6 in Lulu and YS size 6 new production run fits me like a glove. So stick with same size I would say.

LuluAddict said...

@anon 10:33 am - They made the legs wider in the Slimmie pant, Tippy Toe leggings, and Run Jump and Play crops. I got the very first production run stuff which had very skinny legs. I'll have comparison photos which show the difference very clearly. I do not have excess fabric in the crotch on my first run stuff but I do in this one. They changed the front rise to be an inch higher and the rear rise is 2" higher. My rise must be short because the higher front rise gives me wrinkles at the crotch.

I scooped up the new black pique WUC today. They're so pretty in person! Nice and opaque.

Hi all! I'm trying to choose between WUPs and Skinny Wills and I'm leaning towards the Wills because it has bigger pockets as well as the higher rise. I'd love to get them in the Ziggy Wee pattern, but am reading the reviews on the LL website and they say that particular pattern in quite sheer. Would anyone happen to have any feedback on the Skinny Wills in the Ziggy Wee black and Ziggy Wee Angel Wing? Do they get really baggy or pill easily? What about in other colours/fabrics such as the pique luon? Any feedback would be much appreciated?

anon 347 - thanks for the tip on the Iviva mini cheque scarf - I, too ordered one. I know EXACTLY what you mean about the vinyasas being "too much fabric"....I am excited to see the pink mini cheque (mini cheque being my FAV)! Thank you!

I got the WUP in black pique today too. I tried on the black pique skinny wills last week & HATED them - both the material & the fit. It must have been a different batch of luon b/c the WUP I bought are soo soft compared to the wills. I absolutely love them!! I can see the hang tag in a deep bend but the pattern on them makes them opaque enough for me. The issue i have with the herringbone & the lighter pique is the dark seams, so I'm so happy they came out with black.

I also tried on the WUP high/low in inkwell - absolutely AWFUL. I didn't even pull them all the way up I hated the shiny, thin material so much.

Just wondering if anyone else feels like the lulu dressing rooms make you look horrible? I also feel like crap when I see myself in those mirrors & find it hard to judge the clothes until I get home. They are idiots b/c the lighting should do the opposite in a clothing store!

Does anyone know if the new Pique Luon WUP have an oval or triangular gusset? Hoping they revert back to oval on all pants sometime soon. Thx!

I have to do a survey on Lululemon for University if you guys can spare a minute! It's really quick!

People either loved or hated the ziggy wee pattern.
I happen to love and have most colors except august glo since they sold out.
I have the wills in angel wing, black, and plum.
WU in plum.
To me, it passed all the bend test for sheerness. somehow Plum is more compressive.
Been wearing them all and no pilling. ( so far ) Of course I hand wash and drip dry.
I also have the pique wills wide striped.....totally different fabric.
Warmer.
very opaque

Re: black friday sales - The store in the King of Prussia Mall (one of the biggest malls on the east coast) keeps posting on their facebook page that they will have a 5 am yoga class followed by a special opportunity for those that attend the class to shop. No indication exactly what that means i.e. reduced prices or just that it will likely be less hectic. 5 am is too early so I for one will not be there to find out exactly what this means!

I must be the only one that tried on the Open Your Heart LS and would buy it in my tts which is a 4! I feel like it fit perfect and that the 2 would be too short and too slim fitting. I'm 5'4", 115 lbs and small chested. Did not buy but am ready if it hits WMTM.

Re: ziggy wee -I have not tried on any of the crops/pants but a woman in my gym had the sept. black skinny wills on and bent over and they were sheer! Haven't seen too many other people actually working out in these but have noticed the on a few people for casual wear where sheerness may not be so much of an issue if you are wearing long tops/sweaters.

Re: dressing rooms - yes definitely when I try on shorts - seems like the small amount of cellulite I have is multiplied ten fold!

I have the pique skinny wills and absolutely love them! Now that it is really cold on the east coast they are my go to pant for weekends. I feel like they are somewhat compressive on me and make my bum look awesome! Super warm to boot. Mine are from September of this year and I've worn and washed them a few times and no pilling yet.

I have to share an experience I had in store this weekend. Went to try on the Avenue Pullover. They had several in the inkwell/greenbean and one (rejoice!) in charcoal grey in my size! I thought wow what a score! All were marked down to $79. Tried on the 4 in both colors and found that this fit much snugger than I would like it to particularly in the shoulders and arms so much so that I would not be able to layer a long sleeve shirt under it and be comfortable. Was not crazy about the inkwell/GB in person but liked the grey minus the bolero ties. I asked the ed to see if there was a size 6 on the rack that I could try on. She came back and said there weren't any. Then she offered to check on line for me so I said sure. Two of my stores now have this iphone looking device that they scan and can apparently not only check their own "backroom stock" but can also check online stock for you. I hand her one of the tops and close the door to get dressed. I figure while she's doing that I'll quick use my phone to check the lulu site myself. Sure enough there are size 6s available in the inkwell/greenbean on WMTM. I open the door and she says sorry there are no 6s in our stock or on the lulu website. I'm like ok thanks and don't even bother to tell her that I just went online myself and there are 6s because I really just didn't feel like dealing with it because I was in a hurry. Then I proceed to continue to make one last sweep through the store, walk by the rack with the Avenue Pullovers and of course have to just check to see - sure enough there is a 6 hanging there. I thought my God these people really are useless.

On a positive note, one of the male eds was very helpful in assisting me figure out what size shorts to get my boyfriend. I scored him a pair of nice workout shorts (pacebreakers I think) for $34!

I don't get the love for the LS Turnaround. Sure the fabric is soft, but it looks like a dumpy, ill-fitting long sleeve T-shirt. It doesn't have a nice neckline, it doesn't fit nicely, the curved hem is odd...I don't get it. If you guys are looking for really soft, beautiful T-shirts, check out the Neiman Marcus Luxury Basics collection. They're pricy, but those feel like butter, the necklines are feminine yet basic, and the overall cuts are just so flattering. The colors right now are really nice, too. Just b/c it's Lulu doesn't make it great... my two cents, anyway. ;)
Thanks so much, LLA, for doing this blog. I get so much great info here! Happy Thanksgiving week to everyone in the U.S.!

Does anyone know if the ivivva vinyasa scarf is the same size as the lulu one? It's not too small for an adult neck?

I may just order it because I plan on ordering my niece something from ivivva for Christmas.

Also, I have the black pique WU from a couple years ago. I actually put them on this morning and changed. I think they stretch out easily. I have a pair of brushed WU on the way. Hopefully those work out.

Anonymous said...

2:06 - You said you ordered a 4 later in the comments. You'll be happy with that! I, too, am between a 6 and 8 in all things lulu (6 for CRB) and the 4 fits perfectly - a little big, even, as it stretches out a bit.

Disposable Income Girl said...

@anon 4:30 - they're triangular. My store actually had both the WUP and WUC. I got the crops. I really like them.

I also really like the High/Low WUP. Purchased those in the navy & black.

Anonymous said...

@4:30 - I must be in the minority, because I prefer the triangular gusset. I bought the YS leggings with the oval gusset, and it's camel toe city (it could be because the YS gusset is...small, but who knows).

Anonymous said...

I wish they come up with colorful pique, like purple pique WUP.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 5:55am - I think you might be thinking of the wrong shirt. The Turn Around LS and has a straight hem with a crew neck. It's a very simple understated design, made of pique rulu that is reversible. The fit is kind of like a LS Swiftly made of pique rulu.

Thanks Anonymous 6:49!!!! You guys are wonderful!

@6:33 the ivivva village chill scarf is smaller than the lulu vinyasa. personally i like the size of the ivivva scarves much better! it is still plenty of material for a scarf, wrap, shrug, etc.i can even snap it around both sizes of my body to make a shirt (but i am a women's size small, would not work for a larger lady). the only issue i have with the village chill is the edges are not hemmed & start to roll a tiny bit. it's not a huge deal but it would be nice if they were hemmed. i have 2 rulu village chills & absolutely LOVE them. i wear them all the time & get tons of compliments. HTH! :)

Anonymous said...

@3:30 yes! i dont even have cellulite on my legs & the lulu dressing rooms make it look like i do! i bet i would spend so much more $ in the store if they had better lighting. i seriously have to do some major positive self-talk to try on clothes there or else i leave in a really bad mood. it's silly i know, but i work hard for my body (crossfit, yoga, etc) & it bums me out. thankfully most of the time if i think something looks "ok" in the dressing room, i like it when i get it home.

Anonymous said...

@disposable income girl - i had such a hard time deciding between the WUP & WUC. i liked them both a lot. i ended up getting the WUP since i feel like the pique looks a bit more "wintery". and in the future i could always hem them into crops if i really wanted to. im hoping the new floral pattern is uploaded tonight. those might be cuter in crops.

Anonymous said...

The Iviva version of the vinyasa scarf is smaller than the Lululemon version, but I like it! It fits my neck just fine (I'm 5'7", 130lbs); it's just less bulky and you can't use it as a vest or shawl quite as well. Looks cute as a scarf though!

Anonymous said...

If you do a google search there is an actual photo of the ivviva scarf under a vinyasa. You can see the difference in sizes. It isn't too drastic in my opinion.
