I think the girls in these photos look totally washed out … I am more convinced after these photos that those jackets will not look good on me!
I don't know.. I think I might be one of the few that's just not feeling these piqué and herringbone formes. They dont look that special to me, but I will check them out in store when they arrive. Maybe once I see in person I'll change my mind.
They aren't that impressive looking in the photos but they are super soft and cozy on. That is why people are going gaga over them.
I LOVE my Pique Forme. I am going to the store tomorrow to check out the Herringbone although in the pictures, I don't like it as much as the Pique.LLA: I have 3 pair of Dog Runners from last Winter and LOVE them, wear them constantly when it is cold. I have black, back swan and beaming blue from a markdown rack at the end of the season--half price! I suspect they will do more colors again.
OT - The new colours in the Astro shorts, surge and raspberry, went straight to WMTM. I'm not sure if like surge as much as I thought I would, which will be good for my wallet.
I'm starting to like the look of these jackets but would much prefer something that is bum covering. This is great for to and from the gym but I would want my bum covered if I went anywhere else afterwards. Yes I work hard for my figure but don't feel the need to "show it off" like some women I see strutting through the market. And this is not a criticism of others who buy this jacket but I'm just saying I wouldn't get enough use out of it so will hold off to see if something else comes along. I have the pique skinny wills and can say that the material is divine - super stretchy, warm and cozy just like LLA described it. I've also never tried on a define so can't comment on a comparison of the two since I'm a newer addict. :)
Wish the Asana was completely Herringbone!LLA!On the Canadian WMTM there is a pair of inkwell shorts (inkwell/beautiful baroque inkwell/micro macro stripe surge) for 24$! I am 99.9% that the "beautiful baroque" is the new print that is supposed to come out in November!Nat
Oh!And there is also another pair in the WMTM section for 24$ with a "black/raspberry/micro macro stripe raspberry" color. The raspberry being a dark pink/fushis color. Strange to see these new colors on WMTM, as I don't remember seeing them before, but I have not exactly been checking out the Astro shorts lately, so maybe this is old news?Nat
@luluaddict... guess what? I was on we made too much this morning and they added two new styles of astro shorts. one is surge/inkwell/beautiful baroque, which is what that new print in the video is!!!the other has regular raspberry, not raspberry glow, so that is probably the new pink.
Just based on the photos, the pique seems to have a more substantial, form-fitting look to it. The herringbone however, and I love herringbone in general, looks thinner and there is something a little odd about the seams... I can't quite out my finger on it... But it just doesn't look as well made. It makes me think of the shirt that Denise made for Theo.
I love the coziness of the pique and herringbone material. I have a pique In Stride jacket already. I would be excited if the Plum and Deep Camo pique would return. These two are nice but dull....a bit Cloudy and Grey
Quick try-on report for the Herringbone Forme: was an unquestionable size up for me. For reference, I am usually b/w 4-6, all my Defines are size 4 but I wear a 6 in tops with built-in bras, and I sized up to an 8 in the herringbone. For comparison, I tried on the Piqué (which was softer, btw, but I prefer the look of the herringbone) and the 4 fit well, whereas the 6 gapped at the bust. The herringbone in 8 is a little longer than usual (which I kind of like - I'm only 5'3") and slightly looser than my size 4 Defines, but it's definitely running small for those of you interested in purchasing if/when it gets uploaded. Love it, btw - so happy I made the store trip! Oh, and holiday return policy starts today. ;)
Bought the herringbone Forme last night and had to size up. I'm typically an 8 and it was skin tight! I have a few Defines and was skeptical of the Forme but loved the herringbone print. It's soft and a decent thickness for the winter - I live in the south, where a heavy jacket/coat doesn't get much use. Loved the Pique, too! Not sure how that fits as I didn't see these at my store, but if you're near a Lulu I would recommend trying on the herringbone or consider going up a size if ordering online.
Did anyone see they uploaded some new Astro shorts straight to the WMTM site?? These have new waistband prints too - a Surge + Micro Macro Surge + Inkwell Baroque I so want to buy them but have to remind myself that I've already tried on the Astro shorts 3x and hated the way the cut looks on me. Hoping to see a Surge Micro Macro in a Rulu Vinyasa...sigh
I had firmly been in the "I'm not buying a Forme because I prefer the Define" camp. Until now. My showroom got the Herringbone Forme in yesterday and it followed me home! It is really quite awesome. So soft! ~Tracy
I agree totally w/ anon 4:09; would love a bum covering one done in the pique not color blocked though like the nice asana- too bad I hate color blocking most of the time and w. that jacket I do! if they'd done the entire jacket in either herringbone or pique I would have bought one! I've been using my discresionary income on nice sweaters and a nice hoody from jamesperse that I just love although it was way expensive I just love it works w/ street wear and at the gym!
@lulufemomThe holiday return policy started today? When do you have until to return it? I assume sometime in January?
I went to the store and tried on the Pique and Herringbone Forme Jackets yesterday, and I ended up leaving with the Herringbone. My decision came down to fit. I am a 4 in almost everything Lulu found that the 4 in the pique was a little too small while the 6 was a little too big. The herringbone ran a bit smaller, so sizing up to a 6 fit much better. The 6 herringbone was definitely more snug than the 6 pique which was great for me. I really like the pattern on both jackets; the coloring of the herringbone had a greater constrast which I preferred (and maybe this was just because the jacket fit me better than the pique).
I had a family member hunt down a pique forme for me in NYC. So excited! I too was of the "I will never buy a Forme jacket" camp, but I caved. I have the skinny will pants in pique and I agree they are insanely soft and warm. I hope the Forme will be the jacket equivalent of my pants. Yay!
I tried on both the pique and herringbone formes today - both in my regular size and a size up.Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I didn't love them. They're definitely cozy and I really liked the fabric, but something in the fit just didn't work. I have a pop orange Forme that I adore. As soon as I zip it up I feel (and look) so slim. But this fabric didn't have the same impact. So back on the hanger they went. I had hoped to find the herringbone nice asana jacket (I'm on the fence about the color blocking) but it wasn't in stock. On the plus side, there was a random pair of herringbone wunder unders in my size, so I grabbed those:-)
@ anon 11:06 - holiday return policy gives you until January 12th.@anon 8:16 - "the shirt that Denise made for Theo" -- hysterical, and maybe one of the best descriptions ever. I purchased and love the herringbone, but that comment is definitely going to make me smile every time I wear it. ;)Also solidly in the "I'll never buy a Forme because it is a pale imitation of the Define" camp but...I'm a sucker for herringbone. Lulu always finds a way to reel me back in...
