Angel Wing Hyperstripe Speed Shorts and More Try On Reports

I am loving this outfit! New Hyperstripe Angel Wing Soot Light Reflective Speeds and a coordinating Rest Less Tank. I tried on the Rest Less tank the other day. It seemed true to size and comfortable. Not a ton of support for busty women who run but would make a decent gym or spin class top.

Another outfit with the Angel Wing Soot Hyperstripe Speeds, this time with the Angel Wing Ruffled Cool Racerback. Also shown is the Angel Wing Soot Hyperstripe Energy bra. I tried on this CRB today. It felt nice - decently thick and soft but I hate the exaggerated curved hem of the front. I hope a regular CRB is coming in this color because it's a very pretty off-white.

I tried on the Full Tilt LS today and really liked it. The neckline has been fixed so that it lays nice and flat. The running luon is wonderfully thick and soft, not like the thin stuff that was being used last year. If you are looking for a long sleeve rulu top, you should take a look at this one. I thought the fit was TTS.

I also tried on the new Won't Stop Vest and really liked it. I thought the fit was true to size. It felt substantial for being made of rulu and glyde. I see the one review currently on the website mentions a sticky zipper - I had the same problem she did zipping it up. One thing I didn't like about the vest is that the front pockets do not zip closed. There is a back zipper pocket which will fit an iphone but I like to have all the zipper pockets I can for running.

The new Manifesto LS shown with the Ziggy Wee August Glo Wunder Under crops and a fluffin Awesome jacket.

The Black Modern Racer with the Ziggy Wee August Glo Wunder Under crops. I took the tags off mine today and wore them for cardio and weights. I did a session on the stair-master and then ran for twenty minutes or so and the inside of the crotch did not get any pilling. The crops feel a lot like super stretchy silky luxtreme and are very breathable. I was really thrilled with how they performed for a cardio workout on a hot summer day.

The Ziggy Wee August Inkwell CRB. I was dying to try on the WUP in this print since it feels thicker than the Ziggy August Glo but my store didn't get these.

The Skinny Will Pant in the Ziggy Wee September Black pattern and the Ruffled CRB.

The blonde lady from the 4th pic (and a few other photos here) works at my local store - Square 1 in Mississauga, Ontario! I think her name is Heather and she helped me so much 2 weeks ago. Got me tons of stuff from the back, which is something sometimes other lazier educators do not bother to do. Cheers for Heather! :)

Any idea if the angel wing speeds are 2-way or 4-way stretch?

Is it is me or the the "Ziggy - Wee " pattern a bit much for everyday wear? I've got 3 pair of WU crops, including hot pink but think I'd be out of my comfort zone rockin that Ziggy look while down at Starbucks.

At Anon 6:44AM I would guess 2 way based on the Fast Cat Skirt in the same material.

I was at my local store today and I tried on the Fluffin' Awesome Jacket in a 12 (I usually take a 10 in tops) and I'm bummed that I think the one I am getting via fedex next week will be too small and will be going back. The arms are tight-ish and it feels very constricted across the back and in the underarm area. The color is really nice but I think the reports of that jacket running small are true. So as a replacement I got the Can't Stop running jacket in Plum, LOL. It fit TTS in a 10 and I think it is really flattering.

I also saw those black and grey striped run speed shorts you mentioned in the last post and I tried them on out of curiosity. There is definitely something wrong with them. They are 2 way stretch and I can usually fit into an 8 but they are a bit too snug across the hips, with this pair there was definitely something wonky with the waist band where it attaches to the shorts. So they haven't been recalled in my store yet. But if you get a pair, beware.

I also tried the Full Tilt LS and ended up bringing an angel wing home with me. Soo soft and the small ruffles are super cute.

I tried the plum speed shorts and groovies but they were just a meh for me and I certainly don't need another pair of RSS... LOL

I also tried the Ruffled Forme II, the first Forme to turn my head since they got rid of my beloved Define. I tried the black one on in the store and it fit like the old Defines. I sized up to a 12 (the 10 was tight across my bust but I'm sorta bigger in that area than most, so your mileage may vary) but strangely they don't have size 12 online or I'd ask for one for my birthday coming up. As it is, I'm going to ask my MIL for the plum hyperstripe Full Tilt LS and maybe a pair of the Cozy Speed Tights. I inspected a pair and they seem really nice and fuzzy inside. They look opaque and flattering. I might try on a pair next time I go if they still have them to make sure of the size.

And last but not least, through a strange twist of fate (long story) I have 2 size 10 Striped Energy Bras (the one with the different color straps, split pea, inkwell etc.) If someone wants my extra shoot me a line, otherwise I'll just take it back to the store.

Hope everyone is having a great day and enjoying the wonderful fall weather.

@MacFrannie...

You say the Ruffled Forme felt alot like the old Defines, can you elaborate on how? Is the fabric nice and thick (unlike the Forme 2)? Or is the fit of if better than the Forme 2? I really like the color of the Angel Wing Ruffled Forme, but if the fabric is cheap like the Forme 2 then I will have to pass. Thanks!

Personally I would be comfortable wearing ziggy wee over hot pink but to each her own right? Whatever is in your comfort zone.

Just got my textured skinny wills and black ruffled CRB from FedEx. Very pleased with them both, and I was almost certain I would be returning the CRB but it is definitely a keeper!

I am dying for a pair of the plum speeds but my store sold out. Do you think they will show up online on the next upload? :-(

Does anyone know what happened to the Manifesto Long Sleeves? I ordered one and they left the security tag on them and now they aren't on the website anymore. Thanks in advance for your help.

Anonymous said...

The manifestos probably sold out. I looked at them online earlier today and all but one size was sold out.

@anon 8:01 am:
It's just you. They are a refreshing change of pace!

Anonymous said...

I liked that manifesto long sleeve but $70 for a burnout shirt? You can get one anywhere for under $15. Just because it says LLL doesn't mean it should cost so damn much. If the fabric & quality is there, ok. But for a regular burnout shirt? Come on! There are a few tanks & shorts that are also ridiculously priced for what they are.

Did anybody size up in the Piqué WU?
Thanks:)

@ Anon 10:51, the material was thick and the fit was more Define like if that makes sense. Very form fitting and slender. I had to size up like I had to in the Define but I didn't have to in the Forme and I never tried the Forme II. I am a Define snob and I really did not like the Forme or Forme II at all. The shoulders fit weird on those two but this ruffle one was almost like a Define in Forme clothing. HA... But as a disclaimer I only looked at the black Ruffled Forme, not the Angel Wing.

@12:31 I wish I had known you wanted those plum speeds, I would have gotten you a pair today (if they had your size). I know I will be hitting the store again once my upload packages arrive this coming week. If you still haven't had luck before then, I'd be happy to help you if I can. Just let me know.

There were manifestos in store today but I didn't look at them since I have one from last go round a couple of years ago.

I also tried on the CRB with Ruffles expecting it to stick out at a bad angle and emphasize my muscular rear and was blown away by how cute it was!! I got the Angel color and it was soft and the ruffles fell just perfectly to cover my butt in the back and look cute. It fit perfectly everywhere else too. I am 5"2. 105 lbs and got my normal size 4. I also ended up taking home the Forme 2 Angel with ruffles. GORGEOUS and made me think of old Lululemon!! I actually got the 2 (I"m 34A bust) because they were sold out of the rest but it's flattering and fits well. It really is like the old defines; longer and softer and thicker, and GONE are the awful pointy shoulders, BUT I thought the black version of the same was scratchier although it looked nice. It will be hard to keep clean but it really is a beautiful jacket.

I received my order from the most recent upload today, and I have to tell you that the textured WUPs live up to the hype. I ordered both the herringbone and the piqué -- the Educator who told someone that these would not be the same as the piqué was off her rocker, as they are exactly the same material (reverses to stripe, but they have an all-black gusset). The herringbone is exactly like the herringbone from last fall -- very thick, soft, and full coverage. I am so glad that I also ordered the inkwell wee ziggy WUPs, which I was surprised to find that I love. They are kind of woven, too, and passed the bend test for me with flying colors (and I was wearing bright purple undies!)

The only thing from my order that I'm iffy about are the ruffle WUPs. I ordered the black, and they are fine, but not as stand out special as I had hoped. The ruffle isn't very obvious on the black, and I wonder if I should have ordered the plum instead.

I also went in-store today to try on a few things. Left with the full tilt LS in angel wing. Love the details on this, and the rulu is thick and soft. Tried on the Rest Less tank and loved the angel wing and grey colors together but the fit was weird on me. Hoped to try the ruffled up forme, but no luck, as my store didn't have it -- broke down and ordered the angel wing online to try as it had already sold out in several sizes and I'm worried that it won't show up in my store.

@ anon 2 pm - lol. They're wicked fun. I wore them to the gym yesterday with a Pow Swiftly and Pow Define and then I ran errands in them. If I wanted staid workout wear I'd buy Athleta. ;-)

This was definitely one of the best uploads in a long time! I got my order today, which included the plum pace setter, ziggy crb, an angel wing forme and ruffled crb. I was a forme-hater, but decided to give the ruffled one a shot since it looked super cute. I love it! It fits just like the define, only the sleeves seem a tad longer and the fabric is slightly thinner than most defines. I was also expecting to return the ruffled crb, since it seemed so loose in lots of the pictures. It is slightly looser in the lower half, but not in a bad way. It kind of floats away from the body a bit, but definitely not too loose. I have a slightly curvy bum and I was worried about emphasizing that area, but it does not. I also love the ziggy crb. It is cozy and also unique. So glad they came out with regular length crb's in the ziggy print this season!

wow went to bed and missed out on the wup textured the darker one was sold out in the am! o well maybe next time! I did order the modern tank in grey and the full tilt in angle wing I did size in my smaller size though! I am btwn 4 and 6. so I got it in size 4 based on the model I think I made the right choice I think i'm the same size body type as that model. i'll report Monday if it works out the modern tank I own in pink mist from a couple of years ago and love it it is a size down item however especially if your small up top 34A/32B is my size size 4 in these fits perfect.

Agree @2:19!!
And the burnout material is SOOO delicate... I've heard of so many issues with holes, pilling, etc.

Anon said...

Just got my Forme II in Pow Stripe Split Pea and (surprise!) I think I really like it! It's definitely thinner than the Define, but I think it will make a nice layering piece. The Pow Stripe design is also super flattering. I didn't size up like I did in the Define, and I think it still fits well - slim, but not tight.

Also got my Skinny Will Pique pants. Have to admit I was a bit afraid of horizontal stripes across my thighs (danger zone!), but they are pretty amazing pants. Can't wait to get the Herringbone from my last order!

I love the Ziggy but not fit or confident enough to rock them... Yet!
I plan on getting a headband or something else small in the colour... So pretty!

Anonymous said...

Ziggy is a very outdated, 1970s or 1980s pattern, and not in a hip way I might add. Too grandma's old couch and slighty dingy or dirty looking IMO. I'd rather see more of the classic lulu patterns, space dye, hidden omega patterns, heathering, herringbone, etc. Just my opinion though. I don't forsee these items selling well on the ebay, second hand markets either.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 10:20 pm - they sold out on line pretty quickly but time will tell. Prints usually do well in resale.

Anonymous said...

Popped in my chicago store and there was plenty of Ziggy stuff..I'm in agreement with @10:20. Not a flattering print at all and if I were to wear it, I'd only venture trying it in the top and not as leggings, as I am not rail thin. This print would just make my legs look stubby. But that's just me.

I just got my full tilt long sleeve in angel/hyperstripe today and I am a little apprehensive. The front of the shirt where it meets the bottom band doesn't lay right. Also I bought a size 4 for a tighter fit, I normally wear a 6 and I think it may be too tight. Anyone know if it shrinks at all?

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the fit reviews on the full tilt long sleeve. I liked it the minute I saw it in the hyper stripe/plum color but now that I'm seeing more photos of the angel wing it is really growing on me. I just worry that a light color like that will turn dingy after too many washes. I didn't see it at the Ardmore PA store the other day but will hopefully be stopping at the Wayne store today to see if they have it.

I'm also not a fan of the ziggy pattern but haven't seen it in person yet. Maybe I'll change my mind. I don't mind wearing bright colored bottoms - have beaming blue inspires and tender violet WUC - but not so much into patterned bottomes - not yet anyway! LLA - I do love that you called them wicked fun. You gotta rock what you love and not worry about what anyone else thinks.

Can anyone offer feedback on the faded zap ls swiftly that is on WMTM? Is it worth getting or is it snag prone? Thanks

Also, weren't there tons of reviews on the fast track tank? They've all disappeared. I remember trying it on and liking it but didn't feel like paying full price!

Exchanged my piqué skinny wills for WUP, since the butt is so much more flattering for me in the WUs... I've been wearing them nonstop. They are amazing! I have the herringbone (Alberta lake and black Swan) from last year which were my favs, but these definitely take the cake. Sooooo cozy and plush.

I also picked up a love red crb for $24 (!!) and also a serene SS on markdown. I got the yellow twin stripe and think its adorable, but feel slightly like a child in it. Any suggestions for what to wear it with??

You guys are the best!! :)

Am I the only one who thought the seams on the Full Tilt LS were too scratchy for wearing without a base layer?

Anonymous said...

@anon 6:47 am I think skinny jeans and maybe a cute scarf. I have 2 serene ss tees and I just love them.

Anonymous said...

@ anon 3:04 I vary between a 2 and a 4 in wunder unders and I felt the 4s were more comfy because of how thick the material is. hope that helps!

I picked up the Full Tilt LS in Plum/Hyperstripe today in my usual size 4 for shirts. Also tried the cream one. Was torn but went with the Plum as I think it I will get more use out of it. I LOVE Rulu. @ 7:57, no I do not think the seams are scratchy. I also got the Plum ultra padded run sock. I normally do not like dark socks but I love the UPRS is the only sock I run in now and the colour is awesome!

I also tried on the herringbone WUP and thought they were nice. I passed on them though because aside from working out, I do not really wear leggings. I have enough WU and fall and winter tights. I have a trip coming up too so need to not go overboard.

To each their own on the the Ziggy pattern. I don't care for it and I'm glad I didn't buy any of it in the last round. When I saw they created more, I kind of furrowed my brow. It's not for me but I guess it did well and we all like different things. I do think it actually looks better in this release.

Anonymous said...

I picked up the Full Tilt LS in the plum hyperstripe yesterday. I had my heart set on the angel wing going in, but I actually preferred plum after trying on because I thought the angel wing could get pretty dirty/gross as a running top. I sized up in this...my TTS 6 fit just fine, but it was form-fitting and I prefer a loose, comfy fit for this top.
The fabric is soft and I like this purchase a lot...I do think the $88 price tag is really steep though, and I'm hoping that the top holds up without pilling.

Anonymous said...

LLA have you heard anything about a CRB in hyper stripe angel wing? Love this print!

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 12:27 pm - No! But that sounds super cute. I hope one is coming. There is an Energy bra out in that print.

Anonymous said...

@anon 6:44 I bought the angel stripe full tilt and will be returning it to the Wayne, pa store on Friday. I bought the plum hyper stripe one as well, but I like the darker one better. It is a size 6. I did notice that they will do a short hold-one hr- if they know you are on your way to grab it up.

Really really like the angel wing hyperstripe outfit in the first photo but I promised myself I wouldn't buy any more speed shorts for now and especially not ones with a white base color...I must resist but might have to check out the restless top.

Hi all,
I've recently become addicted to lulu. I have gone a bit over board lately, and will be returning a few things that are sold out online... I thought I would offer on here before I return them to my local store. I have a pair of plum studio pants in size 4 regular, and a pair of skinny will pique in size 2. I will sell either for list price plus shipping if anyone is interested. I know after sale can be much more expensive on eBay. :) let me know if anyone is interested.
