Sea Wheeze Sneak Peek

A new Sea Wheeze sneak peek photo showed up on the race website. My wallet isn't exactly jumping out of my purse at this.

I like the headband. Too bad that headband won't stay on my head. I also like that they used an asian guy (maybe he's half) there. Diversity!

Not interested in the SW stuff.

But ahh, Stanley Park and seawall, see you (and more) in the last 2 weeks of August.

I love that orange color! Too bad I'm not going to Seawheeze.

What the heck is up with Lulu's obsession with color blocking?!! Enough already! I have never been a big fan, so I've been done since they began! Ugh! Are they trying to insure I never spend a dime there or what?!!

Uh....what's with the dual-tone Track Attack shorts? Bizarro.

These outfits don't make me excited and I want to be excited! No a fan of the two different legs in different colors but hoping that other stuff comes out that is better.

Okay, LLA - now that the embroidered Scubas have returned, what are the odds we'll see Scubas embroidered with "SeaWheeze 2013" on the hood? Too much to hope for??? I was annoyed not one single item had the words Sea Wheeze on it last year and it seemed like a lot of the post-race feedback mentioned that...

Maybe if you want to look like a court jester....
I ran the race last year and am going again this year, and I have to say that I'm not even going to bother going to the expo on Friday. Last year it was picked over, and this year they're leaving it the same, just limiting your purchase to 15 of any single item. Really? 15? Who needs 15 of any one item? That is so stupid. It says loud and clear that LLL cares more about making as much $ as possible rather than ensuring that registered runners have first access and the best race experience possible.

Been over the lulu neons for ages now, like 12+ months. Beautiful shot of the seawall at Stanley Park though.

I like the ladie's shorts but wouldn't go out of the way to get my hands on them

Booo. Sick of the color blocking!!! Where is a fresh sea wheeze print or something really off the charts original. Just cancelled my tickets to sea wheeze. Can't justify the expense as it seems they are cheaping out this year compared to last. Bummed. Maybe next year!

I'm still new to LLL...is this stuff you can only get at Sea Wheeze?

Anyways, my wallet is hiding until the new colors come out haha.

@anon 4:00 - 15 items total (not of one, but your whole lot). Of course, I went back a couple of times, so if you wanted to buy 30, 45, 60, and they don't take your name down, what's stopping you?

Not a fan of the color blocking on the shorts. Boo. I do like the green color top (swiftly?). Here's hoping for more items. Better start trying on and marking my sizes now so I don't have to there.

15 of any single item limit?! Um that's obvious reseller territory. Ridiculous.

IN LOVE with the headband!! I wish I was going so I could pick one up (and so I could see vancity and run the seawall...). Anyone want to angel one for me?

In completely OT news, I finally took the tags off my first pair of WUs for yoga tonight, a pair of the pinstriped inkwells. LOVED THEM in yoga. I checked at the 900 n mich store in chicago today and they didn't have the full-on luons yet, but I'll be checking back daily and snapping them up first day.

I was actually able to pass up the commuter denim and the new blue scubas today, too -- didn't dig the stripes on the blue, and while I liked the commuter denim, I wasn't totally gaga over it.

ok so totally off topic. Does anyone else get static with their lulu yoga towels? If so, is there a way to get rid of it? Jeepers, folding it up in class after Yin tonight in the dark looked like a small fireworks display!!

Is there a new pink ? There is a pink called "after glo" on the mod moves crops ?

Can anyone give me some feedback on the run fastrack short sleeve? Ive never bought anything with the silverescent material. I'm planning to wear it over a sports bra for nights when we spar for a couple of hours. It sounds like it would cut down on my puddles of sweat. Any thoughts would be appreciated. TIA

OT - i was just at long island, ny store and they had the new blue and denim scuba hoodies...i wanted the denim one but the blue one was so beautiful and so incredibly soft i left with it...i compared the length of it to the scubas from 2 years ago and they seemed the same (at least in size 2).

@ anon 5:07 -- I love the Silverscent material. I don't have the fast track tee, but I have the tie and fly Silverscent tank from last summer and the material is amazing. It's so soft and silky and feels wonderfully cool against my skin. I've read many reviews about the Silverscent material being delicate, but I don't think it is really that delicate. I've owned the tank for a year with regular use and there are absolutely no signs of wear. I would just be careful with velcro as I'm sure that would snag.

To luluFemom, I just got back from Wanderlust Ca, and they had embroidered Scubas with the wanderlust logo and "find your true north" on the hood. Maybe they'll have it at Sea Wheeze this year.

This is anon@5:07- I went into store today to try run fast track ss. It's much prettier in person than online. For anyone interested in the black, the swift panels match the rest of the shirt perfectly. In all the other colors the swift panel is darker than rest of the shirt. And the colors are much more saturated in person than they appear online. The overall cut of the shirt is super flattering. Sits at hip and is not super fitted in tummy area like some of the others like swiftly are. The slit in the back is adorable and allows a hint of color from whatever bra you are wearing. Definitely a tts item. I shall test it out tonight at karate and let you know on performance.

OT - saw some sizzle solid WUC's at a strategic partner store today. I put my hand in them and the material looks to be see through, didn't even try them on.

Picked up a plum striped Scuba yesterday and LOVE it! It is my first Scuba stretch, I only have the original thicker ones. I know I am in the minority here but I prefer these lighter weight hoodies. I find the older ones to be so heavy/ bulky and to dang hot, mind you I even live in a cold climate. I actually listed one of my SE Scuba's on Ebay last knight because I have several and never reach for them. I do however kind of love my lavendar Cuddle Up to pieces, wish they would put those out again.... Also I wonder which pink is on the zipper pull of my new Plum striped Scuba, it does not look familiar to me?

Another small sneak peak of Seawheeze items in an email that was just sent out...only 15 days to race day!

OT - I have a couple questions about the Athletic Deep V tank for those of you who have tried it on -- first, is it very tight around the midsection? Also, most of the reviews are from ladies with larger chests. Does it look good on smaller chested ladies too? I'm a 34B. Thanks for responses! I live about 4 hours from a store, and I'm tired of buying things just to try them on and spending $5 to return them!!

The Fast Track SS top is a great addition to any lulu collection! I picked one up in Pizzaz at the Gilroy outlet before they released it online and in stores. I love the silverescent fabric because it feels nice against the body. It also doesn't stretch out like a Swiftly when they get sweaty. I try to avoid anything that will snag the fabric. I did notice on my 12 mile run this weekend that it is not a good choice of top to wear with a hydration pack (I was using a Nathan brand one) because the pack slid around too much on the silky fabric and I constantly had to tighten the pack straps. If you are just wearing the top as is it is just fine though.

I went to the Bellevue store today to return an online purchase. I tried on a couple things, but ended up walking out empty handed. The Run Featherweight Singlet runs small. I'm a 4 in Lulu tops except Swiftlys and anything with a built in bra where I wear a 6. The size 2 fit (the 4 was too big). It is pretty short in the sides of the front, has a really extreme curved hem). It looked better than I thought it would, but I'm waiting til it goes to WMTM--it's way overpriced! I'm 5'0, 102 lbs., 32 D for reference.

The Run Fast SS was very cute. I could have worn either the 2 or the 4 (it was pretty roomy in the 4, so I'd have to say it runs a little bit big as well). I tried it in the Spry color.

I also tried the Deep V tank, and too much of the girls were popping out. The new cup inserts are absolutely horrible! They are all lumpy and bumpy! I bet they are cheaper, though. Anything I buy now that has the inserts, I am just going to use my old ones. They are sooo much better.

The new Scuba hoodies were out, and the colors are very rich and saturated. I tend to run hot (the joys of being a woman of "a certain age", so I don't see myself ever purchasing one of those. Pretty colors, though, especially the plum striped and the deep teal.

Thanks for everyone's input on fast track ss. I wore it last night for one hour sparring and then under my gi in Jiu jitsu for another hour. Perfect for wicking sweat and mobility. I love it so much I'm going to go back and order more. I'm not a runner but I bet this is an amazing shirt to run in.
