Try On Reports and More Pics

Ignite and Swank Tanks and Still Grounded Pants. I tried on these pants today in the solid black. I didn't like the feel of the luon - it was kind of stiff and polyestery feeling. I thought the shape of the pants was ok, they seemed to fit a bit snugger than my older Still pants, especially in the crotch. I can't really comment on how sheer the luon was since I was in the extra large dressing room with a funny three way mirror so couldn't get a good look at the rear view. There are also solid white versions of these pants out.

I also tried on the Mod Moves tank. I liked the material and the shape but it runs a bit on the small side, especially for a run tank. I am used to sizing down in a lot of run tops and I am reading from the reviews on the website that some people are sizing up in this. I am a little bummed since it looks like this is one of the styles that will be offered at the Sea Wheeze but my bank account will be happy.

This is how it fit me - too much armpit fat.

I also tried on the Swank tank. I like the look and open back of this tank a lot in the photos, it seems kind of old school lulu to me but it didn't fit me right. It cuts in a bit too much in the front on me and shows too much armpit fat. It looks nice on other women in the photos but I didn't care for it on me. I think it runs on the snugger side.

I also tried on the Ignite tank and liked it but I'd really need a twelve and it doesn't come in that size.

I also felt the Ignite crops and took a look at the content. The luxtreme in these feels just like the Mod Moves crops - stiff and polyester-ish, which I didn't care for but I know a lot of people think the material in the Mod Moves is nice. The backside didn't feel any different than the front to me.

I also tried on the Twiggy Print Om Pant. I do like the material in these but hate that you can't untie the bottom on this version and are stuck with a blousy look whether you want it or not. I have been liking the Twiggy print in the photos but when I tried it on all I saw was pajamas and now that is what I see when I look at the photos.

Thanks to Ms. K for this photo.

I saw the new Soot Groovy Stripe Energy bra. There is quite a bit of difference in the look of the bra depending where the stripes hit so you'll have to cherry pick for optimum pattern.

I'm not sure why the new Soot Light Forme jacket is not called Soot Light denim because it's mostly denim looking luon.

I had wanted to try on the Voyage Hoodie but my store only had the Pullover. I liked it but wish the whole thing was french terry and didn't have the yoga board short panels. I am reading from people who have gotten their hoodie orders than the second color on the jacket is the yoga board short material. I wish they had just made this jacket of solid French terry and not used a secondary material.

I took a look at the Go With the Flow bag in the store and really liked it but for $68 I wish it had padded laptop and ipad pockets. I am hoping it gets repriced to a more reasonable number.

Hi all - in the OM pants - should you size down? I wear an 8 in Wunder Unders and a 6 in the French terry and Rulu pants. 6 in the studios too. I asked the GEC - but after the sheer issues I just never trust them to tell the truth. "Bend over."

Hi! Can anyone please tell me if the twiggy print Om pants are sheer where the light part of the pattern is? Thanks!

Raspberry Glo Light might be returning. Saw a notification for a Pure Balance Water Bottle in that colour and Pizzaz.

When I look at the first woman in this blog post in the new PP Ignite tank, I start to really dislike the thin brunette pretty model that Lulu seems to be using a lot lately. The Lulu model is just so stick thin with no athletic figure that everything just hangs on her. I can't get a feeling of how the garment should properly look. I have boobs and lots of problem areas, lol. The first woman in this blog post in the PP Ignite tank totally sold me on it. I want to head to the store to now try this on. The back construction of the exposed bra worries me. In some colorways, most especially the AQ one, it looks like an actual bra strap/band that is being exposed. I'm not sure how this back will look on my body, I'm having back fat anxiety! However the front of this PP/Black one is stunning.

The new Soot Light Forme Jacket is stunning in the pics. I love the colorblocking here. I'm tired of the Forme b/c I know they don't fit me well. Sure wish this would have been the Contempo Jacket instead. I can't stand the cut and style of the Forme Jacket.

I am an 8 as well in just about all bottoms except for dance studio crops / pants I go with a 6. I purchased the white denim om pants today and got an 8. Tried on the 6 but the pockets were too "showy" and weren't as comfy. I wish they had ties too because I'm only 5'2" and it would've been nice to adjust plus I like the bows. Hope this helps you.

I see the Om pants as pajamas too now!

The frangipani speed shorts are WMTM now. I just ordered a pair, which will be my very first!

I tried on the "new" batch of Astro and Groove pants a my local store in Seattle and they are still sheer. I tried on 8 different pairs in various size and waistband colors. The Astros were more sheer than the Grooves. The store educator told me that they made the new batch with a tighter knit/weave in the backside area but they were still sheer even sized up in the Astro. I could probably get away with the sized up Groove for yoga but I don't want to settle for poor quality anymore for that kind of money...Still waiting for my YOGASMOGA.

I purchased that bag today and it seemed like a fair price at the time, but I think I would rather get the urban oasis on md.
the tag was detached and inside the zipper compartment when I bought it. will I still be able to return?

@ anon 7:31pm - I think the om pants are TTS. I would go with your wunder under size. I'm a true 6 in most Lulu pants and I took a 6 in these. I tried on the size 4 and they fit okay but were on the tight side in the crotch area. The material is great - so light and airy. Also, new loot update!

@ Eric 8:52 PM - I think the banner on the women's tanks section is a Raspberry Glo free to be tank. I've been eyeing that banner for the last couple weeks and hoping it would make an appearance!

Love the hat in the first pic!
Is that the new sun chaser hat that you loved?

The om pants are a bohemian style laid back perfect for summer and yes very stylish, if worn the right way by the right people, not pajama bottoms, you have to have a sense of style to be able to see the style of the om pants, think outside the box !! This is 2013 not 1999

Well, I was talked into the Voyager Hoodie. I am a huge hoodie fan, but stopped buying after one Scuba Stretch (too short). I hate all of the color blocking, but picked it up in aquamarine because it doesn't seem as color blocked as the ridiculous looking grey and purple ones. And, those new version of the Still Pants with the purple stripe down the side??? What in the heck IS THAT? It looks completely silly. When will the obsession with color blocking end???

Also, I finally got my hot hitter skirt and the waistband goes up and over my belly button. For fun I should just pull it over my boobs too. I would skip a bra!

My Yogasmoga crops were crazy tight around the calves. That was the only disappointing thing to me. I don't have excessively large calves either. They are muscular, but certainly aren't hamhocks.

i just ordered the frangipiny speed racer short from WMTM I really like the speed shorts so when they go on sale I can't resist them. I wear them for running, kettlebell training, sailing, gardening, when I feel lazy and just want to sit around. They really are comfortable and fit my petite frame quite well.

When are they bringing back the DENIM luon? It has disappeared and is my favorite!

The new Soot Forme jacket has a lot of denim luon in it.

@Ching-a-ling you said it! I'm 100% with evrry statement you made, from the too thin model lulu uses lately, to the dislike of the Forme jacket but loving the new colorways in Soot, to wishing it was a Contempo! I loved Defines and I refuse to buy a Forme, no matter how beautiful the color is. Will never buy a Forme, lulu will have to "get it"

@ anon 7:48 am - they are changing the fit in the calf area for the second production run, as I understand it. Did you return them?

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 7:32 am - I think you have to have the right body style to pull them off - tall and skinny - otherwise they blouse up too much too close to the ground and look pajama-y.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 11:26 pm - I always thought Astros ran thinner from the first day they were manufactured. That is a big reason I never bought a pair. The luon in those has always been off to me. Granted, I don't try them on that often but whenever I do I don't care for them. Grooves have been hit or miss but lately have been much better in terms of using thicker luon.

Wish I waited - I love the print. Got a speed short in dune last week :/

Anon at 7:48 here...no, I didn't return my Yogasmoga crops. I am making them work. But, this fit isn't as comfortable as I prefer. I end up grabbing my super old WU crops first and only wear those when everything else is in the wash. That's great to hear that they are changing up the fit a bit.

What's up with the new Swiftly sleeveless v-necks with the subtle tone on tone striping? I had my heart set on a purple one, and the material was scratchy, not the soft, comfortable fabric I have come to love. I'm sure it's Lulu skimping on production quality, again!

I really liked the new Swank tank, except the poor placement of those princess seams makes it look like the high beams are on. It's this inattention to detail, and Lulu trying to cut corners to save on manufacturing and materials costs that are drving me crazy! I think that Lulu thinks they can continue to get away with putting things of lesser quality and inferior design out, and people will still buy them.

It's funny because I have two Run: Tame Me tanks from last year. I love them! I was excited earlier this year when they came out in some new, fun colors until I actually tried them on. The luxtreme in the bust isn't as nice as last year's tanks, and they substituted cheaper circle mesh for the silverescent bodice. I guess I wasn't suppose to notice the huge decline in quality.

The silver lining in all this is hubby is happy I'm not blowing big wads of cash at Lulu these days! Although, as shareholders of Lulu stock, I'm thinking it might be time to get rid of it all!

@ anon 7:48 - I have the same problems with my YS crops. Did you buy your TTS or size down? I sized down as per several comments and am sure this is why mine are tight on the calves. I have muscular calves too, but within normal range. Agree that the fit isn't as great as old WU crops (I wish I owned more of them) but Carbon 6 is gorgeous and I can bend over in full midday sun without flashing anyone. I wrote YS with my feedback about the waist and calf fit. They confirmed that they are tweaking the gusset and the calves so I'm hopeful the fit will improve. I don't work for YS. I just decided that if I was going to come on this blog from time to time about bitch about the quality decline at Lulu, I needed to invest time providing customer feedback. I write Lulu, too, but they don't answer because I never need cup inserts and I just return defective items to my local store.

7:32 AM, puh-lease! So condescending. They are pajama bottoms and VERY granny!

Anonymous said...

@ LuluAddict - true they are thinner than grooves but used to be not sheer. I have 3 pairs of Astro crops(similiar to clam diggers style) from just over a year ago and not sheer with the diamond gusset. I bought a pair of Astro crop tights this year in the blue lace waistband and there is a difference in sheerness and thickness. I just love the waistband on the Astros so much, they are very comfy to me. I was tempted to get the new colorful stripes waistband sized up to a 4 but it was still sheer over nude undies and visible hang tag. I'm 5'3 , 100 lbs, petite frame and not that much junk in my trunk so we can eliminate the "not the correct size" excuse...Thank you for all your helpful reviews and providing an environment to help people make educated purchases LLA!

anon @ 7:48 here. No, I didn't size down. I bought my TTS 8, which is what every pair of my WU crops are, my groove crops and every other bottom on LLL. I had read fit reports that said to size down, but I didn't want any muffin business going on, so I stuck with my normal size. They fit everywhere else, but the calves were uncomfortably tight. I probably should have returned them. I'm glad to hear that they are tweaking the design because if its a problem on me, it would likely be a problem for most athletic women.

Anonymous said...

OT: my YS Run Jump and Play crops pull down in the back. I bought two sizes, hoping one of them would work, but have the same problem with both. I don't have this problem with my LLL crops, but I'm finding the Pace and Inspire crops are just too thin. I wish there was a perfect fit somewhere! So, curious if anyone who has tried the ignite crops thinks they might also work for running??

Bahahaha those Om pants are so pj pants its not even funny!
Saw the exact same print in an ACTUAL pj bottom.
I have tons of bohemian friends and NONE would be caught dead in that print! Not even for bed.

Om pants are lazy stoner pants. people who wear clothing like that don't care what they look like as long as they are comfortable. I wish I could do that.

@ m - lazy stoner pants - lol. That is my new favorite comment from this blog. :-)

joining the yogasmoga crops discussion a bit late: i had the same issue with the leggings (not crops) in the calves in the 8, but the waist was sort of big and they sort of bagged in the crotch. the person i was in contact with asked for my measurements and talked to the designer (!) and suggested that i might do better with the slimmies, and that they were tweaking the fit on the leggings. i really didn't need a bootleg pant but decided to try the slimmies - she suggested a 6 Tall and they do fit great. i haven't worn them yet because it's too hot out! i think i should have waited for the next run of the leggings... for reference, i usually wear an 8 in lulu luon pants but could probably size down to a 6 in some.
