Frond Swiftlys and More

Shown with the Pace Crop

The Frond Swiftlys in the long sleeve, short sleeve and tank. I know I'd like a Frond Swiflty since lulu hasn't made this green in something like three or four years but I'm not sure about which one. I know people are sizing up in the tank to get more length. I really hope these show up on the upload since I can't get to a store for another week.

Pretty White LS Swiftly with the Frond color blocked Wunder Unders. I am currently staying at my parent's house in the high desert in Arizona and had the novel-to-me experience of running in 30-degree weather. Since I don't have any cold weather run bottoms I ran in my Energize pants which are made of luon. I thought they would be warmer than luxtreme crops and they worked really well to keep my legs warm, even with a slight breeze.

Pop Orange Pace Crop

Pace crops and Street to Studio Jacket.

I am really liking the look of the Heart Ease LS in these photos. I just wish it wasn't so expensive.

New Strappy Headband and photos of the new Bangbuster and Swiftly headbands.

I love when the stores use the same model in different styles. From left to right Flow Y, Energy Bra, and Pace Bra.

LOVE the swiftly in frond. I'm new to lulu and only have two longsleeves right now, and I know I'm going to want some in either SS or the tank once Chicago turns from tundra to blazing... but I love it in LS so much.

I have a couple CRBs -- is the swiftly tank better for running in comparison, or will the crb do just fine?

I returned both my Stills I ordered online today to the Showroom store. My old ones are Be Stills and I didn't think there would be that much of a difference, but the leg is much wider/sloppy looking. The Ed. asked why I was returning and I said pretty much the above, mine that I love are Be Stills and she looked at me like I had 2 heads. Seriously, that was not that long ago...how can these store leaders not know prior products???

I got the Power Up Crops on MD. They are super soft and comfy. I tried on the Street to Studio jacket...blah. I didn't like the cuffs at the wrist. It looks like a jacket I would put on a toddler. And it's very short! I'm only 5'2" and I thought it was too short, I can't imagine someone with any height attempting to wear this.

That Frond swiftly looks nice, but I'm sure the showroom I shop at won't get it. I hate the limited stock they have, so I order online, and then have to attempt to return during their limited hours.

OK. Enough of a rant.
Thanks for such an awesome blog LLA. I saw in the comments that your dad is ill. I hope he is better soon.

My store in San Francisco got the frond swiftlies today. I purchased the LS one. The material feels considerably thinner than my other LS swiftlies (dewberry, paris pink, black, and angel blue). The material is more silky, though. I just fear it will be even more delicate than usual and will likely snag. After waiting weeks for this swiftly to arrive I feel a sense of disappointment.

I bought the Heart Ease - it's going back. It's very thin, aka, Devotion but it's very meh for the price. Even my son said "no, that shirt is really boring." and he is right.

@ anon 2pm - Lots of people run in CRBs. I like the Swiftly tanks for when it's hot out but CRBs are fine.

@ unknown 3:04 pm - Good to know. I haven't been able to try these on yet.

@ anon 2:48 pm - Bummer about it being super thin.

Bummed that the swiftly headband looks like it lost its cute scalloped edges!

@ anon 3:19 pm - agree!

I was in my local store for an online return when i happened to see the Frond swiftlys. Tried on the tank and the LS. Didnt like the length of the tank even in a size up, but the color and the feel of the LS was irresistable. I agee a bit thinner than my older ones, but oh so soft! A surprise purchase.

BTW, my online return was 3 pairs of sz 8 SHS print inspire crops. I was so upset with the lack of good pattern on the first pair I received, I ordered 3 more, just to get one out of the 4 that was acceptable, then returned the duds. Geez Lulu!!

It's awful compared to the old one. Ses thicker, narrower and the grip dots have been replaced with strips. I am so mad I ordered the green one and can't return it. They ruined my favorite headband

Yeah...I need a Frond Swiftly. No doubt. I love those damn shirts.

I really wish they would make the swiftly SS and LS with different neckline options. I like the line of the tank and a v-neck would be fabulous. Do others find the neckline too constricting? I'm always pulling at my LS!

@ anon 2pm - I have run most days throughout the summer in around 90 degrees in both the Swiftly tank and CRB and both are good. I ran in the Swiftly SS once when I was sun burnt and found it too hot. I like that the CRB is not so delicate so I can use it for Body Pump as well as running.

I saw the swiftly frond tank in store and there already was a snag in one of them. Yes, the material is silkier but also thinner. It seems more delicate. Didn't buy.

LLA: sending positive energy to your dad.

I bought the Inkwell? Heart Ease and I actually love it. I agree it is thin but I think it's no thinner than a Devotion. The color is beautiful and the neckline is flattering. That being said, I wouldn't be splurging to buy it in every color like our beloved Cabins.

anon 2:48 - I noticed that with my polar haze swiftly tank - it's much thinner and feels more delicate than the pop orange and brisk lime that I have. That green does look gorgeous in the photos though. Heading to the PD store tomorrow before catching a flight - hoping they have some in.

I was just at my local store and bought the LS and SS frond swiftlys. The tank looked much smaller than before- shorter, thinner, etc., and just not worth $48. The color is great, though. The fabric all around has not been as thick as I remember it- I don't mind since I never found the swiftlys to be very warm in the first place. Hopefully there won't be any quality issues- I really believe that the styles and quality have gone downhill over the last year.

Also at the store today, the young girl that worked there told me that the swiftly tanks are " brand new, they just came out with these in a tank"...

I got 2 of the heart eases, and I love them. They are just my style. I agree they are seriously overpriced and I feel foolish for paying so much for them. OTOH, the devotions are equally pricey for what's essentially a glorified (barely) tee-shirt, and I have multiples of those so...I guess there's no point to this except they got me in my weak spot. At least the heart eases have thumbholes.

The crops scream "Jesus fish on my arse!" to me, so no matter how much I liked them I just can't do it.

@anon 2:00- i never run in CRBs - i find them too long and too hot. LOVE CRBs for crossfit, gymnastics, climbing...but not running. i heat up easily when i run, and prefer the swiftly tanks. they're much lighter feeling, wick better, and dry much faster. you *can* run in CRBs, i just don't like to (:

@ 2 p.m. Hardcore runner here. In the summer all I run in are CRB's with a Y bra underneath. I don't own (and don't want) any Swifly tanks. I have 2 Swiftly s/s SEdition shirts that I'll wear in Spring or Fall. The shirts ride up regardless of what you wear them with (SShort or any crop). I also wear a CRB under my merino turtleneck in the winter and of course to yoga, non-heated, hot vinyasa flow and Bikram.

Basically it's whatever works for you/comfort. We're all different. When you run with any regularity through various temperatures (I'm in all 4 seasons), you experience/decide what is best for you.

I've begged for a v-neck long sleeve, would love it. They occasionally make v-neck SS and I buy them all.

Which pants is the girl wearing in the first photo of the LS Frond Swiftly? I really like them with the Frond color.

Loved the Pace crops on but LOL about the Jesus fish comment! They are actually bleached coral not pop orange though :) We have them here in store in Oz and I just tried them on. LOVED them!

Need to add the frond LS to my collection :)

Jen said...

@anonymous me: LOL LOL L.O.L.

@anon 7:15 (for anon 2pm) - completely agree. We're all different. I like CRBs in the cooler months, but when summer comes, I'm all about the swiftlys. You have to figure out what works best for you. I can run in a skirt in 35 degree weather, but other runners I know would rather be in full tights.

Now, I wish LLL would make more luxtreme CRBs. I feel like I got super lucky with that SW one!

I've got to weigh in on the summer running tanks: silverescent all the way! I wear CRBs and occasionally swiftly tanks for barre class. I wear swiftly SS and SL for running outside in cool to warm temps (60s - 80s). However, when gets to be for real summer time in Memphis, swiftlys suffocate me. I'm comfortable in a CRB, but the sweat marks can be a little embarrassing depending on the color. I run outside year-round and My fave summer tanks are the looser silverescent ones. The tie & fly from last year was a real winner with the mesh back. I also love my silver bullet tanks! I am very heat sensitive and Memphis is just sweltering in August even in the early mornings. I sweat through everything, but the silver fabric doesn't cling and really breathes. I also like my Tame Me tanks. I think they are luxtreme and silverescent? Anyway, I guess it depends on the climate and your preference, but in 90% humidity I find that the swiftly material is not very breathable. However, I find the swiftly material extremely breathable on windy, low humidity days. I run in my swiftly LS on cool, sunny days - you can feel the wind through these tops but you're still covered up.

OT. Does anyone who has both the What's the Fluff Pullover AND jacket, can tell me if the sizing fits the same in both? I have the pullover and want to get the jacket but not sure if I should stay TTS or go one size up. I went two sizes up in the pullover and like it, but I'm afraid the jacket might look extremely big two sizes up (unlike the pullover)

Thank you

i'm a runner (distance racing) - i run in mostly swiftly tanks - i prefer them to CRBs b/ they have anti-stink. i also love CRBs but use them mostly for yoga and also for everyday wear.

I don't understand why anyone is getting EXCITED about ANY of this stuff! It all looks so boring! :( I look through the pictures and think, "seen something like that before, seen this before, seen that...." It's been 1 year min. Since I last looked at Lulu and thought, "OMG wow....LOVE!! Have to have that NOW!!!" It's all basically the same stuff over and over again.... LOL Now if I looked and saw a come back of the fuzzy fleece pullover, GW, Remix Lux, Be Still pants, Tadsana Pants, old Remix hoodies and Old Après Yoga Jacket....I'd set my Visas on fire and buy it all! LOL... this boring stuff, not so much. What am I saying here? Im BORED with what Lululemon is coming out. I don't know if anyone else feels is way, but everyone Ive spoken too, has been buying elsewhere. :)

I really like that Swiftly LS in Frond...but oh how I wish it was a Cabin LS!! With all the fun colors they've been releasing in the past months (Frond, Mellow Lemon, Pow Pink, Power Purple, Lacoflage, Bleached Coral) I think they really missed out on some revenue by not bringing back the Cabin LS, since those are a Lulu fave. Unfortunately in this situation their loss is also our loss. Boo! But I'll be getting that Swiftly...green is such an upbeat color, and the Swiftly LS is one of my favorite workout tops.

I tried on the practice freely yesterday and ended up buying it. The new bra portion is so much better! It has better coverage and support than the last version, which was very low cut. The bra of the PF is better than the NLT now, surprisingly. I also finally tried on the forme jacket. It was a big disappointment, for sure. The sleeves are crazy long, while the torso length is normal. I really wanted to love it, since the gingham is so cute. The newest jacket (forget the name) looked too short and boxy to even bother trying on. I did enjoy seeing all of the bright new spring colors out, though!

i miss the slipless headbands so so so so much!!! i miss the days when i would buy a couple tanks, grooves, defines and headbands in the the same color palette and have a good 3-4 matchy outfits. i know a lot of people don't care about clothes they sweat in, but I do!

I work up a hard sweat running in the heat and my CRB's never stink. They are always washed immediately after any activity. CRB is more flattering/fitted than a Swiftly tank too.

addicted to FROND!!! love my capris! - want the swiftly and bangbuster too!!

its just such a happy color and is complimentary to my skin =)

the capris do feel kinda different -- some kind of texture on it - I was expecting the regular smoothness - its by no means SUPER noticable or even really visible but you can feel it when you run your hands down them. - maybe they changed something and i didn't read it lol! ok happy day to you and belated happy valentines! muah!

Anon from 2 pm here :)

Thanks so much for all the opinions! I will probably hold off on getting a swiftly tank until summer hits if I feel like the CRB isn't working for me -- good point about having to run through the season to know what works for you.

And.... I ended up at my local store last night (fourth time in a week) and left with the LS in frond and the neckwarmer/ninja hood. I almost grabbed the bundle up reflect in white (on sale for 139) but after a run last night in 25 degree weather and not feeling cool up top (only my legs!), I'm glad I held off.

For those who have tried e practice freely tanks, have you guys experienced more tightness for the ones with the gingham prints? I wonder because with the reviews for the gingham CRBs being tight and rough, so I wonder if its the same for the bra part of the PF tank, but I don't live near a store to try it on. If so, did you guys size up or still stay at your regular CRB/NLT size?

Returned my frond gingham CRB and frond groovys and walked out of the store with a frond SS swiftly and gros gingham speeds (frond, of course). I'm not one for speeds, but the groovys just weren't working, even though I love groovys for the length. Maybe it was the four-way or the lack of a thick border. I don't know. In any case, the speeds looked a heck of a lot better on me. Tried on the swiftly tank and WOW, it is considerably shorter and it did not work. So I got the SS instead (couldn't justify an LS since I just picked up one in mint moment). Also got a frond bang buster. I think I'm officially done with frond. :)

I'll submit comparison photos of the practice freely, no limits, and back on track tank. I'm grouping them all together because I bought them all within 3 months and they are all the flowy material attached to a bra type of tank. (I love these types for hot yoga)

I bought the dune practice freely tank in a hurry. It looked nice on, but after taking it home and re-trying on, the quality was subpar for a $64 tank that is compared to the other two.

The two top pleats and bottom pleats look cheap. The material is transparent...not in a lightweight way like the 105 singlet, but in a cheap knockoff way. After looking at it, it fit nice, but would only be worth around $30 if I was buying a cheaper mimicked brand.

Carrie

I am disappointed, but it was my own fault for not taking the time to analyze it in the store. I'll probably exchange it for two of the CRBs. At least those can double as casual tanks outside of the gym.

BTW, I'm still looking for my perfect pair of black yoga pants. I loved how lulu WUs fit, but the new ones are too sheer. Any other recommended brands?

My op CRB vs Swifty tanks...

I run decent mileage and Crossfit almost daily here in Santa Cruz where we have pretty mild weather year round. I prefer CRBs for when I wear capris or Wunders and swiftly tanks for when I wear shorts or skirts. The CRBs are too long on me with shorts/skirts and I'm 5'6". BUT disclaimer - all of my swiftly tanks are from last year or earlier and I am a little concerned this new batch is a lot shorter. I'll be purchasing frond, yellow, and white when/if they show up online so I'll be happy to post back. I've never had an issue with either style rolling up on me or snagging and I put in good amount of miles and lift a lot of weights and burpee/roll around on the floor with abandon and I've no complaints there. One complaint I have with the CRB is inconsistent fit, many are longer/tighter than others in the same size. I am small chested but have a lifters build so I take an 8 in the CRB but can wear a 6 and even a 4 in the swiftly tank. I cannot wear the swiftly with sleeves at all, arms are too tight/body too big. Wish I could, they are lovely and functional. I have 12 CRBs, (hve sold a bunch)and I have 4 Swiftly tanks and will be buying more swiftlies this year, probably no more CRBs. A few of the swiftly tanks have been worn/washed even 100 xby now! Hope this is helpful. I read other peoples fit reviews all the time as I only buy online, I appreciate this blog very much.

@4:35 I know right?! All these updates have been frustrating. I found an old swiftly headband at my local store and purchased! Complete with scalloped edges!

OT-went into lulu store first time after ordering strictly on line. I always read reviews and posts here before ordering. I really wanted groove pants...and in the store they had new grooves and tucked away at bottom....several pair of the old grooves. Tried on both and holy cow...I see what all fuss is about. The new ones don't compare by a long shot. The old gussett and styling is amazing. Needless to say I bought every pair in my size and some groove crops which ive never seen on line. So thanks for your blog. Its kept me very informed in my choices.

I am small busted, light support. All of my CRB's are a size 2. I don't have any of the 'weird' material ones like the gingham or the ziggy stripes. They all fit perfectly and are not too tight, plus they loosen up. Way back when I started out in a size 4 and it loosened up more than I'd prefer when I got sweaty (running and yoga), so I knew I was in the wrong size. I will 'settle' for a size 4 if it's on MD in store/wmtm. I can wear them layering in winter or just as a layer under another shirt if it's some other casual wear. As for length, in the past I had to get my CRB's hemmed. Better on me (5'5") but with still a decent amount of length. Lately I think the CRB's are not as long, so I usually don't get them shortened anymore. I wear them with crops and Speed Shorts. With SS I don't yank them down or anything and they work.

I found the jkt to be a roomy tts. The pullover is more narrow in the shoulders and has no give when you put it on, so many sized up. Hope that helps!
