Boxing Day Store Trip Report

Cute new Shell Pink/Black Sea Stripe Scuba Stretch Hoodie

I went to the store to check the Boxing Day sales and try on the new stuff I ordered last night from the website. My local stores opened at 8:00 am and I got to the first store (Fashion Island, a.k.a. "FI") around 8:30 am. The mall as a whole was kind of dead and lululemon was quiet. The store had a few racks and quite a bit of the stuff that was on markdown online was not on markdown at the store. I got to try on the Shell Pink Swiftlys I ordered last night but I tend to like bright colors in the tanks and quieter colors in the short sleeve and long sleeve version. Those will probably be headed back. I did try on the Sea Stripe Pink Shell CRB and it's fun so I will keep that when it arrives. I didn't get to try on the RFYL crops since the store did not have my size. I'm on the fence about those since I was going to make an outfit with one of the new Swiftlys so I suspect they are going back, too. I'll decide when they get here and I try it all on again one last time

The markdowns at the first store were not nearly as good as some of the online ones. The Devotion SS tees are $19 online and I swear they were something like $39 or $29 in the store. The one deal I did note was the Under crops (the organic cotton Wunder Unders) were $29. I tried a couple of pairs on but I could clearly see my underwear and the white tear out tag so they stayed at the store. The St. Moritz and Fireplace Jerseys were on sale online but not at either store I went to. FI did not have the Runder Under LSs, U-Turn Pullovers, Barre Pulse Pant, Forme Pant, Pleasing Pant, or Side Angle pants on markdown. They had a few All Sport Bras for $39 and a couple of Ta Ta Tamers for $44.

I hit my other store (South Coast Plaza, a.k.a. "SCP") around 9:30-ish and that store was a lot busier and had a line about 6-8 deep for the dressing room. This is the SoCal "cold" store so they had the WTF jacket and other cold run items on sale, I believe for the same prices as online. Notably the Bold in Cold LS was not on markdown, nor the merino wool pieces. SCP had a lot more of the same online deals than FI did. The Devotion SS were not as good a deal as the online store here, either. I think they were something like $29 or $34.  I ended up getting my husband a pair of Chillstop run gloves for $19. I noticed quite a few people picking up new Shell Pink striped items (bottoms, the Shell Pink Sea Stripe hoodie, etc.) so people were buying new stuff along with the markdown items. Since there were long lines for the dressing room I did not bother trying on anything and left. I'll be back later in the week to check out the status of the racks and return some of what I ordered last night so I'll let you know if lulu starts a secondary round of markdowns like they did for Black Friday weekend.

What about your local stores? Get any better deals than online?

Disappointed at my store. They also did not have many of the loot items marked down. I probably would have picked up a u-turn or a merino item, but not when I can buy it for less online.
I mentioned my disappointment to them and they seemed surprised that some items were lower online and they told me to check back tomorrow (as though I want to make another trip...).

I went to the Boca Raton store in FL. They said that their store received a lot of merchandise for Boxing Day from other stores. I arrived shortly before they opened and there were about 8 of us waiting for them to open (everyone was very nice). They had several racks of markdowns. The Devotion SS was $19, although some were still showing a $34 price tag (maybe yours would have come up as $19?).

They had so many of their winter clothes marked down and had a decent selection of colors and sizes. They also had items that I've seen in the outlet (aka Enlightment Pullover- it was cheaper today $59... I paid $20 more in the outlet, much to my chagrin). They had the Forme Pant and Split Step Pant marked down. I also saw some markdowns from the cycling line back on the sale rack. They had several My Mantra L/S marked down to $39. I didn't see any running crops or pants marked down or Wunder Unders. The Steadfast Crops were full price in the store. A friend raved about them so I tried them on and ordered them from the dressing room for the sale price online (they were so comfortable and flattering... hopefully I can run in them). I left with the Shell Pink LS Swiftly (I would have purchased the CRB Striped Shell Pink, but they only had one size, 8, in stock so I ordered it online, too), Black Swan Split Step Pants, Black Split Step Pants and My Mantra LS.

I hope that everyone had a great shopping experience, whether it was online or in the store. The Boca store was quite fun and energetic- there was a wait for the dressing room, but the staff was wonderful and helpful so it wasn't a big deal.

So the pink shell Swiftlys are bright? Or brighter than you thought anyway?

Anonymous said...

Is the color of the pink shell swiftly material like the bright vibrant color in the outdoor photos, or pale like the photos on the website?

Anonymous said...

In my opinion, the Pink Shell Swiftly is bright and vibrant like the outdoor photos. The indoor photos on the website really wash it out. I love it, but I embrace all of the bright colors.

Houston City Centre: markdowns underwhelming, less in quantity of items AND amount compared to web.

pink shell is a lot like pepto bismol as some of the commenters have stated. in the swiftly top it is more like a heathered color. I am not a fan unless it is an accent like the new polar cream and shell pink tata tamer II.
I am excited to see what is on sale at the union square NYC lulu.

The Honolulu store was absolutely chaotic this morning! It opened at 6 am and the theme was Candyland. They had an aerial yogi hanging from the ceiling and ballet dancers in the display window. Got a Flip With No Flop Tank for $34 and RUN: Ice Queen LS for $49. Other major markdowns-there were long sleeve run: swiftly turtlenecks for $29, seamless Speed Shorts were $34, the Hold It Against Me bra was $9!!!! Totally crazy! Had to wait in line for 30 minutes to get in even though I arrived at 6:05 am!

Shell Pink is not pale. It is more Barbie pink.

I'm pretty upset because my store (Glendale) online said it opened at 8 so I got up and went there... Waited 15 minutes only to find out from an employee that it didn't open until 10. Really? And so I shopped around the other stores and came back and also didn't find much. Double disappointment

Hi,
Went to my local LLL (metrotown, burnaby, Canada).
Their markdowns were very similar to the ones online. Merino wasn't to be seen, neither were their wtf line..but maybe I didn't look hard enough.
As for shell pink..very bright! Colour looks like the vibrant outdoor pictures. It's very pretty...but almost too "youngish". But whatever floats your boat..I was considering LS swiftly but have now changed my mind. It is a true barbie pink Imo
Hope other local stores had good deals!

My cousin was at the Boston store early this morning and grabbed a black Back Burning Tank on md for $49. Lots of md racks at the Brentwood store but nothing for me. I grabbed a pair of 4" Light as Air shorts in black for the BF, on md for $34, for his first lulu. I'm hoping to hit Studio City tonight after work. Not sure what I'm really looking for since I ordered from the Aussie site yesterday am. They had a fab WMTM. Got menthol power y, creamsicle pop LS swiftly, dune flash wee stripe define and flash 1/2 zip swiflty. Hope they process that order and ship to my Aussie angel with no issues.

I picked up a WTF scarf for 44.00, a lone pair of rain gaiters that were hidden in a pile of scarves for 14.00, a pair of compression socks for my hubby (29.00)and a toasty tech pullover for 79.00.... the pullover was mismarked (the others were 99) but the girl gave me the discount anyhow! :) Not a bad haul at all really :)

Went to my local store in L.A. (Studio City) and not a lot of sale merch. Markdowns online def better than in store. Ended up getting a cool racerback in love red slope stripe that I was looking for but nothing else.

Winnipeg store- Crazyline as usual. Waited about half an hour to get in, Half an hour at the til.If I had to wait for changing room would have been another half hour. Was totally worth it. Got pleasing pants for $39.00, Ebb and flows for $29.00 and a daily tank for $19.00. All "Apres", runder under, ice queen, WTF line and winter accessory stuff on major markdown-much better than online prices. Staff friendly and as organized as can be for such chaos. Very Happy!

@Taryn- totally forgot to check out the men's WMTM and after you mentioned picking up some compression socks, I went back for the third time to order some (for me, I have a size 10 foot and the women's are too small). Three orders in less than 18 hours. This is definitely a record.

I was able to stop by a local store (Toronto) after my travels back from family. Better deals than on line: Bundle Up Jacket $109 (love red and clarity yellow left - all black was not on sale as exprienced by someone else, lucky girl), Run Ice Queen l/s $44, Hot Cheeks Skirt $34. Everything else was as shown/offered on line. But remember, I was there at 8 p.m. and this is just what was left. Size 2 & 4 had the least items left. There was still good stock in the 6's. I didn't look at the rest of the sizes but they seemed to have quite a few items. I didn't buy anything since I bought a couple of items I wanted on line. I was tempted by the IC l/s at that price point, but decided I didn't like it enough due to the quilting patches at elbows and shoulders.

Has anyone seen MD in NYC? i am debating whether to go or not...thanks!

Also asking about NYC - which store is usually better? I've visited the Soho one a couple of times, but haven't found a huge selection there.

Was super disappointed with selection at south coast plaza in orange county--- doesnt sound like anyone in CA found any great deals.

anybody seen the speedy turtleneck on markdown in stores? i did try it on in an 8 and the salesperson said i should take a 6, but i thought the 8 was good (nice and long!). thus, i don't want to order on line without trying on again.
are tall girls sizing down in this item? thanks!

Did they have any hot cheeks in a size 6 in PC or black??? None of my local stores here in NJ ever got them!!

The store I went to yesterday sucked for MD but the one I went to today was way better. My husband pushed me to try on the bundle up jacket in PC/clarity yellow and I actually liked it! It is very flattering on and sooo soft and the running reviewd have been quite good - was marked down a little more than what was online so I'm happy :)

I was at the Toronto Yorkville store yesterday. Bundle Up Jackets were $129 vs $149. There was a selection in all sizes, mainly silver/cream, black/alberta lake, and clarity/polar. I got a 6 in the Silver/Polar Cream - happy as I was waiting for this item to go down.

If anyone from Toronto is still reading this thread, Yorkville had a good amount of stock on its racks. All other items were as featured on line, with most things the same prices, but sometimes $10 less. I couldn't keep track of it all. One was the Toasty Tech pullover was $89 vs $99 on line. I tried it on but ended up not buying it. It is soft though; that I liked. There were several pairs of Runder Unders (all colours but no herringbone of course), the Groove and Astro pants in the limitless blue. Sizes 2 & 4 the least to choose, good selections still available in size 6 or higher. Sizes 10/12 had CRB's for $29. There was still a huge amount of the St Moritz merino stuff available too.

Then pop over to Nine West on Bloor St as it's 50% already marked down shoes in store (same promo is not online) so they end up being $45 or so a pair. 3 beautiful pairs came home with me. I was good all year and was able to wait for this best Boxing Day sale.

Toronto again, just for info:
@ 7:08 PM, I saw the Run Speedy Turtleneck on markdown in black, blue and the cream. I almost bought one in black. Same price as online.

@ 7:40, the Hot Cheeks skirts were on markdown in both stores I've been to, in polar cream and red only. Black sold out in most stores as soon as they came out (I paid full price for black). At the Eaton Centre they were $34 and at the Yorkville store they were $59. During Boxing week I have seen them in sizes 4 and 6, very few left.

Sorry if this comment shows up more than once...submission is being quirky

In NYC the only store I go too is Union Square. they usually have a lot of stuff and right now they have 6 racks of marked down stuff lots of WTF and pants. I was overwhelmed by the crowds so didn't really do too much searching. I haven't been to the one in SOHO or uptown.

Trip to NYC store today Dec 28, had much better markdowns. I paid $49 for each: Pleasing Pant (heathered black), Run: Ice Queen LS (black), St Moritz Jersey (black), Fireplace Jersey (silver), Split Set pant (black). Also the WTF pullovers in yellow and polar cream were $89, Run Ice Queen pants $69 and tons more I can't remember. Get out there!

Ooh, sounds like I have to check the stores again to see if there were a second round of markdowns.

lol once more sharing some info. from the Toronto stores. I had no intention of going to LLL again, but since I had a dental appt. in the neighbourhood of the Yonge-Briar Hill store, you know it's a moth to a flame.

They still had a selection of many of the items available on-line at the same price. Below I've listed just some of the different items or prices I came across. Size 2, 4 & 6 very limited stock. Sizes 8, 10, 12 had more to choose from. Some of these items had just been marked down again today, staff mentioned. I bought the Runder Under l/s in black/grey for $59, the first markdown sticker was $69. I love Rulu so was happy to get this. The store was very busy and there was a long line up to the change room, mostly women but also a number of men.

Has anyone tried on the St Moritz jacket? Have to order online and just wondering if it is a flattering fit. The price is really good right now!
