New High Rise Wunder Unders. These are the same WU pants I posted in the last post but I didn't realize they had a new waistband. Anyone try these yet and get let us know how they compare to Wunder Under Grooves?
I already lived through workout wear that went up to my navel. At least the new WUs have a different waistband to visually break up the long rear you get with high rise pants. I cannot wait for this fashion trend to go away.

Actually, I wouldn't mind that under my workout top. Would help the stupid MT that occurs.
is it just a shadow or are the WUP sheer and you can see something white (undies?) underneath?
Haha -- I too lived through the "long rear" gear! Gross! However, I do like the idea of a higher WU waistband to keep any muffin top issues at bay - provided it is paired with a top that covers the high waist.
ooo...i'm excited about the high rise WU! i always get MT in WU because of the rise. i liked the rise on the wunder grooves, but didn't like the double waistband (bumpy under CRBs) or the outside leg seam. these might be perfect! if only the luon was high quality and not see thru like they probably will be :(
As someone who is 5'3", I don't appreciate these lol. The regular ones are high enough, lulu, as in past my belly button! These would probs be up to my boobs.
Being 5'3" I really can't appreciate these... WUs are high enough already on me (up past my belly button). These would probs be up to my boobs lol. Nooo thanks.
Agree with the other comments - I would LOVE a little higher rise in my WUs. they are just a little too low for me and the groove WUs have a thick waistband.
Oh LLA, weren't you the tiniest bit worried that posting the vintage exercise photo (is that Jane Fonda, yikes, I might have this same workout on VHS...it looks vaguely familiar) might inspire the Lulu design team to take these ridiculous need 80s neon colors and trends one step further?
I am not a fan of all the high waist bottoms and cropped tops that have been released lately either...ugh!
Anyone run in the hot cheeks skirt yet?? And I might actually buy WUs if the high waist works! Looking forwatd to the fleece tight :)
I don't mind a higher rise, as long as it isn't too high and the tops don't start getting short again. That is not a flattering look.
I'm considering the high rise too for MT prevention, a little extra warmth, and more coverage during handstands. For the most part no one will see the rise anyway. I hope they come out in a neutral color though.
I have done that Jane Fonda workout in my living room countless times! I still have the tape around here somewhere. So funny to see it posted here. Thanks for the flashback, LLA!
And for the record, I am one of those women who actually likes a higher waist because the low rise look gives me muffin top, even when I am in shape. At 5'9" with a 34-inch inseam and a long torso, my waist isn't anywhere near my hips, simple as that.
Love the blog! Thanks for doing it, LuluAddict!
I too wish the high rise would go away. So glad I don't get a muffin top in any of my gear. LOL at the 80s image.
Yup. I did run in the hot cheeks skirt. I usually wear a size 4 in WU, a 6 in skirts and speed shorts. I got the size 6 but then I thought it was too tight. I got the size 8 thinking the waistband was more comfortable. I ran in the size 8. You should stay TTS. It was a mistake to go a size larger since the skirt needs to be snug on your bum. There was cold air coming between the skirt and me. It very cute and functional. I recommend it. :)
Love the neww higher waist! Hope they're not sheer like the current WU's.
low rise bottoms are nit what gives you mt.
body fat gives you muffin top.
Yay! I might actually be able to wear these! I'm one who avoids the WU because of MT. Don't want waistbands up to my bra...but do want them over my hipbone fat. Not to mention I'd love my tushie to stay covered at all times. :)

Haha, I've been wondering when the first body snarker would chime in. Have a couple kids and wait 20 more years and see about MT. I'm sure if I had almost no body fat like I did when I was younger, then WUs would not give me MT. Alas, time and gravity advance. I would appreciate the higher rise. Enjoy your tight abs while you can and think back on them fondly when you are older :)
I'm excited to try the high waist! I can't wear wunder unders due to my body shape - I have a tiny bum and thighs but carry my weight in the MT area, right above where most pants sit. Sizing up in the wunder unders doesn't work because then they are baggy everywhere else! I really hope these pants work for me!!
I'm 5'3" and WU do not go above my belly button but I wear a 31.5-32 inch inseam, longer legs than most people my height...I can not do short or petite pants, but petite tops work... 0/2
@7:15 PM = Christine Day or the GEC
There is actually a woman at my gym that still dresses like that--hair & all!
I must say though, I have preferred my higher waisted pants (ice queen, barre, forme) over my wunder unders lately. I like the extra support around my waist & back--very comfortable & no one can tell they are high waisted, as I wear a crb or power y over.
I love these WUs! Just got some yesterday. The high rise is super functional, especially in warmer/hot yoga studios when you don't want to wear a tank, but don't want to expose your entire midriff. They seams are well-placed so you don't have the 80's long-butt look, and the waistband is clearly a separate panel. This is not a "fashion trend", its function!
