Store Trip Report - Vancouver!

Sorry I don't have any other photos to share with you guys tonight. This is a new shopper - according to lulumum this might be a Vancouver-only shopper.  (Thanks to Stacey for the photo). As many of you know I am in Vancouver. We spent today at gorgeous Stanely park but I got to do some shopping, too. I visited the outlet in Burnaby. I also went to the outlet in Burlington, Washington yesterday on our way here. The outlet has lots of what is on the markdown racks at the local stores, at very similar prices. The only things that I hadn't seen in the stores or website was a Currant and a Power Purple/Dense Purple Venus Tanks. FWIW, the Burlington outlet is much larger than the Vancouver one.

I also got to go the the Lab, which was a real treat.  I liked nearly everything I tried on but restrained myself to buying two tops - a Turn Around Tank, which is like a luxreme Power Y with a mesh back, and a Tiny Tee, which is like an Every Yogi tank but snugger fitting with a fuller back. I have some photos but am having trouble connecting to the hotel wifi and the technical help desk (aka my husband) is already asleep. I'll have some photos for tomorrow for sure.

I also got to visit the Park Royal store where I was hoping to see the Flare Cool Racerback but they didn't have it. I got to try on the new Take Flight Longsleeve. I thought that fit true to size, maybe snug in the arms and at the hips a bit, but found the gaps in the back kind of odd. I also tried on the new Make a Break Jacket. I thought it was nice but pretty fitted through the abdomen and hips.

I'm heading to the Expo tomorrow and will have some photos of that for you.

(PS - Comment moderation is going to be on for the time being.  There has been some growing negativity and recent shenanigans. A blog scraper (person stealing blog content) seems to be unhappy that I reported her to google and is taking her revenge. I learned a long while ago not to feed trolls so the focus of this blog will remain discussion about lululemon and other fitness clothes. I can't keep a close eye on the threads so for now the moderation is on. I'll try to approve as quickly as I can and apologize for the inconvenience.)

Can't wait to pick up my new bag!!! I Was in the Coq store yesterday and they didn't have these.
It's 350am here in Vancouver and I am up early to do a powerwalk (just keeping my legs warmed up!! :) and then head downtown to pick up my Sea Wheeze gear at 8am... along with 7000 other people!! LOL It'll be interesting to see how Lulu arranges THIS one! 7000 people looked after within ONE hour! LOL (minus the ones who rec'd their stuff in the mail) I'm also really looking forward to picking up some Sea Wheeze gear as well. For all of you who are joining me this morning and tomorrow, GOOD LUCK and ROCK IT OUT!!

Oh, I forgot!! LLA - I bought the flare cool racerback and once I put it next to my pop orange and flash one I returned it. It's really beautiful and bright but too similar for me to jsutify yet another CRB in the same kind of tones. I'm holding out for a deep purple one now!! Good luck tomorrow!! :)

Good luck, LuluAddict!! Hope it is a fantastic and memorable experience!

Thank you for jumping in on comment moderation. Some folks on here have really gotten out of control and forgotten the intent of your blog.

Good luck LLA! Make sure to come home with lots of loot, especially the cute, exclusive Sea Wheeze goodies (think stripes!). I'll be shopping with you, even if just in spirit. :)

Minda, Kristin and all "crazy print" WUC lovers....I LOVE my ziggy wee flare WUC. Not see through and no CT for me. Yaay! Soft and thicker (ever so slightly, but not as thick as the herringbone ones) and so crazy, print-wise. Will pair up beautifully with the currant tops and deep cranberry, if we ever see some. Hope the crop will come in the other two ziggy prints, like the pants did, in caspian and grey ziggies. I will surely snap one of each. ;D

Love your commitment to keeping the blog classy ;-)

I cannot wait to see all the special gear, although I know I will be jealous!

I too tried on the Flare CRB in my store. It was very soft and a pretty color (bright), but as commented earlier, too similar to Flash & Pop Orange to justify the purchase. The new purple CRB was soft, but the fabric felt a little more clingy/slinky than others (?). The Currant Turbos were 2-way stretch and the color seemed flatter than on the Currant CRB, so I passed, although I might regret that.

Good luck and thanks for your blogging!

Also, thanks for the moderation! This blog is a get-a-way for me! lets leave the heavy stuff be so we can relax and enjoy what we love, lulu!

I recieved a wanderlust bag a week and a half ago from the Bellevue store in Washington where I shop. So they aren't limited to Vancouver but perhaps that area?

I got the same shopper on my trip to Portland last week so it's not just a Vancouver one. I will be working the aid station at English Bay so hope to give you a high five! Good luck!

Best wishes and good luck on your first half marathon! I ran my first half earlier this year in Vancouver, and it was an amazing experience. The beauty of Vancouver and the course were just unbeatable. You will be so psyched when you cross that finish line. I personally got a little teary!

Go LLA! Your road to the Sea Wheeze has been an inspiration to me, and to many others I'm sure. I hope you have a fabulous weekend in Vancouver, running, shopping & spending time with your family, and can't wait to hear all about what you did and what you saw when you get back. Kick be you tee tee at the race tomorrow - for yourself first, and also for those of us you've inspired to try to be healthy enough to join you next year!

Well, I got downtown at 7am and I was the first in line to pick up my gear!! Lol I'm sure glad I did. Got my running stuff, my cool flip flops AND spent almost 400 bucks on Sea Wheeze clothing!! Oh my god. I put a lot of stuff back, too. Beautiful colors ...I got a bright coral colored SS and LS swiftly, the same color in a run in the sun long sleeve, three of the cool striped CRB's in different colors and a stuff your bra tank. I couldn't stay for all the events going on ( free massages, toe nail painting LOL) there was such great energy in the room!! I was in and out of there in 45 min... There was a HUGE line up still waiting to come through!! I did talk to one of the cashiers who said they were going to limit people buying multiple sizes of items ... Somehow I don't theink they'll be able to control the ebay sellers from benefitting! Anyhow I'm totally stoked for tomorrow now!!! :)

Thanks for the update Luluaddict and good luck in the race!!! Your last day from outlet to outlet to lab and store sounds like a dream for all of us fellow lulu addicts!!

On another topic - I got bike grease on my brand new pow pink light swiftly tank and am wondering if anyone has suggestions/tricks to get it out? any advice would be appreciated!!!

FYI, I got one of those Wanderlust bags with my purchase in the Pacific Place (downtown Seattle) store yesterday.

I bought the currant Dance Studio Pants (to add to my new collection of DSPs, as I also have gray and indigo) -- love that shade of red! Red tones can be hard for me to pull off with my yellow-undertoned Indian skin, but these pants are great. I almost walked out with the half-zip Swiftly, but the red had too much of a coral tone to it; I went with the heathered gray instead.

Good luck at the half marathon, all you runners and walkers!

I went to my local store last night Union square NYC I looked at the new ray speed shorts and the material for the liner (uderpant) seemed kind of rough.
The color is really nice. they had a lot of them in most sizes. The run engage bra is so tempting me. it is well made and the currant color is really nice. Does it bleed?

Good luck LLA! Have a brilliant time in Vancouver - sending you well wishes for the run (it will be a blast).

I'm with Kristin, I really enjoy the expos!

I like your blog a lot and the positive community around it, and also respect all the hard work and hours you pour into because you love it and care about what's out there. sometimes people commenting can do with being reminded of being true to themselves, always, be that in public or private. comment moderation was wise- thank you.

Sandra - I think it's hit or miss getting exactly the right cups... not sure why they sent so many, but I have gotten the wrong size, as well as white cup inserts from the GEC before. Hmmm.

Got my currant turbos today and I love love love them! I love turbos anyway but am not a huge fan of red (this is my only red lulu other than a SS swiftly in currant I picked up in store over 6 monts ago). These are fab-u-lous!

And good luck at Sea Wheeze, I am athletic but ive never been a runner (well ive never really tried as my asthma kicks in quick and I give up!), but you all are motivating me to at least try a 5 k or something :)

LLA! All the best tomorrow! You've trained- you've prepared! Now its just a matter of showing up and having a GREAT TIME! Stay on your pace - don't go out too fast!!! Don't forget to really pick your feet up while crossing the finish line with a huge smile!! - It makes the finish line pics look awesome when you are in the air LOL!
Looking forward to your post race thoughts!!
Yogibabe! thanks for the thoughts on the ziggy - i was REALLY on the fence about jumping ofr them. I haven't bought anything since Currant Scuba and pow crb racing from lulu! thinking about going for them now! thanks!

Good luck in the race tomorrow LLA!

I got into Vancouver mid morning and to the expo by noon. The line to the store was wrapped around out the doors! Waited about 25-30 min. All of the striped tanks were sold out, but I did score a striped blue headband as a consolation prize. Got two pairs of groovy shorts (one in blue, one in melon stripe), a lime swiftly tank, melon stuff your bra and antique white run in the sun ss. Looking forward to running tomorrow, but not in what I bought today! :)

Thank you for your blog, and best of luck on your race. I check your blog every day and read through the comments and post comments on my phone while at work. It's really what gets me through my day. I love reading reviews of the latest Lulu, sizing info, and tips and tricks. Thank you for all that you do.

Good luck tomorrow LLA in the race! Good luck with the Expo Store. I went today and the store was INSANE. I was there at 9 a.m., fairly easy to get in, get my race kit, flip flops...and into the store. They were moderating traffic into the store so we had to wait a bit, but not that long. While I was in there, though, eventually that line up grew and was...ridiculous. Honestly, a few of saw the line to get in, and at that point we went: may as well go home because so much is gone/picked over. Line up to try stuff on was also crazy! (I did not try stuff on, did not need to). Even by the time I was in, stuff was incredibly picked over (sizes 2, 4, 6). The CRB with the stripes were also gone! I did manage to get one though...cream and plum colour, "SSDP" is the colour code. The red speeds with the blue trim were all gone. There were lots of other speed shorts available and quite a bit of gear (some swiftly tanks, shirts, jackets, crops, skirts, bags, head bands, arm warmers etc.) I was happy to get a CRB (which I will wear tomorrow as there is no bib so no fear of abrasion). I had some Speed Shorts (bright lime) but honestly, I really wanted those red w/ blue only, so put the SS back. I didn't love the other colour/pattern versions enough. I bought a CRB, a Run In The Sun LS in a melon/deep orange colour "FERE" is the , some slipless head bands with the cool stripes, and a Run Nothing But Run Jacket in blue "SYBL" is the colour code. There were special edition bags with the plaid (you know like on the men's SW shorts) - really nice bag but not for me. There was a black duffle with SW lining, again beautiful but not for me. Those bags were very popular.

LLL did NOT limit people and how much they purchased. Case in point: there was a lady at a table just past the hanging racks and tables where the stuff from the change rooms was coming back and being organized to go back on the floor. I thought she was a staffer and that the was gear going back out. (There were countless multiples of everything). I inquired if it was and she said "no, this is all mine I'm sorting it out." The long table was FULLY COVERED in gear. She had countless items...really I should have taken a picture; it was just mind boggling. I imagine she is an ebayer? There were several people who had piles of stuff and bags of stuff. Anyway, insane!

You get a 15% off card in your race it for the expo store gear. I waited in line just over an hour to pay for my stuff. Yes, it was ridiculous. I love my items except for my Run Nothing But Run jacket, should have got a size smaller. I might end up selling it.

I've sent a few pics to LLA if she wishes to share. Cheers!

yogibabe: thanks for the review of the ziggy wee flare WUC, i have one on the way and the ziggy caspian WU too. Add me to the crazy pants club...
LLA and all Sea Wheeze runners - have a great run!

Sandra said...

Thanks! They were all the right size and the nude color but I seriously only needed one pair not four! Very nice of them though... I guess, lol!

yogibabe said...

@3grrls and Minda
Crazy Pants Club unite!!! Hope you guys will love this print as much as I do! :) Life's too short to not have crazy pants, even if it's just once in a while...(or to wear at home, for your own pleasure! Heehee!)

Kristin said...

@ yogibabe,

Are you a mind reader??? I was debating ordering the ziggy wuc. But I wasn't sure about the thickness of the fabric and if they would be too "hot" to workout in. But, you answered my question even before I asked it. Thanks girl!!!! I have a ton of tops that would look great w/ them and you know how much I love wild pants. Thanks again!!!!! BTW, are you drooling over the Seawheeze gear like I am????? I think we should all meet at the seawheeze next year and do some SERIOUS shopping!!! Who's w/ me??

Laura Strate Madsen said...

Hey, anonymous! I have the currant engage bra and have had no bleeding issues while pretreating or while wearing. I've been really pleased with it!

KS said...

@ yogi babe - we are getting a venus tank in cranberry for sure, so I'm assuming some other tips will follow! I would love a power y, I haven't gotten a new one in months because none of the colors released in that style has interested me.

yogibabe said...

@Kristin
Hope you will love the ziggy WUC. I still wouldn't run in it in Florida summer, (any WUC will be too hot to run in FL summer, right?) But it will be plenty fine when the weather gets cooler. :)

@KS
Oooh.. I hope so very much that we'll get the deep cranberry in other tanks too. The last deep cranberry/deep plum color that I managed to snag were the Power Y in heathered plum and the good ol Push Ur Limit in deep plum/heathered plum. (My most favorite color combo for the PUL!)

yogibabe said...

Part deux @Kristin (heehee!)
Yes, I am drooling all over the keyboard at the pretty, pretty seawheeze colors. I am game for next year even if I can't run....I'll shop with you and we'll be the first in line!!! ;) Do they give the completion medals at the checkout counter? The lines looked like more than a half marathon to me!
