NEW! Run Nada Jacket and Split Singlet

New Run: Nada Jacket and Split Singlet, both made of Swift. They are shown with the Roll Down Shorts. This singlet looks like one I might actually work for me. Those of you who have bought the tanks made of swift, how do you like them and how are they holding up? Any pilling?

New Scoop Me Up tank in Pop Orange. This is from an Australia store so not sure if they are in North America yet.

Is the front of the split singlet shorter than the back? Can't tell from pic. Looks cute. Would love to hear feedback on swift tanks too. I don't have one. Thx!

Ugh, jacket looks ugly from this angle! Tank looks nice from the back, just hoping it is not "racing" length short on the front side of the split! Time to fire your design team and get back to the basics Lululemon...

I like the pop orange scoop me up, if this gets uploaded I am definitely getting it!

The front of the singlet is way shorter in the front then in the back.

Darn, I thought the singlet was cute from the back, but short fronts aren't flattering on me. -v

Roll down shorts?! I love the mirage print in shorts but they are all too short or poorly constructed for my taste. Anyone have any more info on these shorts? Fit? Length? Thank you! :-)

So I woke up this morning in an optimistic mood and realized there is a bright (no pun intended) side to Lulu Bleeding. Despite Christine Day's best efforts, Lulu Bleeding has unintentionally created a Nordstrom-like Return Policy! Hear my out - how often have you bought an item you loved in store, but then worked out in it and it just didn't work out for you - and now it's not returnable because Lulu's return policy sucks? Not anymore! Just say it bleeds (even if it doesn't)! This works particularly well for brightly colored items, though even Black is a potential bleeder these days (e.g. Black Pace Setter Skirt). So buy, try, and return if you hate it - just cite "bleeding" as the issue.

The Educators at my store are happy to take back bleeding items and offer a refund (with receipt) or store credit/exchange (without receipt). I've even been ENCOURAGED to return bleeding items that I bought MONTHS ago.

I can't speak for all stores and Educators, but at least some Educators at some stores are finally doing something right. (:

i'm in need of some groves or astros! i need the 31.5 inch length so these are the only types of pants that "work" for me. hoping for those and that singlet looks promising?

@Anon 10:36 The roll-down shorts run BIG, at least in my opinion. I'm between a 4 and a 6 according to my measurements and the size chart and usually wear 6s in the speed shorts and I feel like they're not too tight on me. (I don't feel comfortable in the 4s, although I can fit in them.) I bought a pair of the roll down shorts and felt like I was swimming in them. Luckily the cute striped print came out in the speed shorts so I exchanged them. I also felt like the legs were really wide/baggy; wider than turbo shorts. I would suggest sizing down, especially if you're between sizes, unless you like your shorts to be REALLY loose.

Sophia, I returned my ray tank that kept soaking up the color of my sports bra every time I would sweat and it was so embarrassing in the gym cause it looked like I was bleeding under my breast. I had no issues with the return. My store was really good about taking it back and didn't push any issues or question me. I did show them pictures tho... It's nice to know that they recognize bleeding as an issue but for people that get items ruined by bleeding... well I would be angry if I had other items ruined by LLL's bleeding items.

Laura said...

So can anyone get on Lulu's facebook page?

There was a huge thread yesterday and this morning about their pH excuse and the bleeding issues and now their facebook page is down.

Coincidence?

Anonymous said...

I can get on Lulu's FB page.

sophia said...

@Sandra - Oh, I'm not saying this makes Lulu Bleeding ok. I would be pissed if I had items that were ruined by the bleeding, too - luckily for me, the bled dye has always washed out. Only that I have decided to take full advantage of this issue and use it to "try out" certain items that I would normally hesitate to take the tags off of because I'm not sure if I want to fully commit. But no more! Buy, rip off tags, wash, wear...and then maybe return (:

(And I've never been asked for photo evidence from the Educators).

Anonymous said...

Why don't you just stop buying the stuff guaranteed to bleed. I think it's pretty much proven now.

Well, bummer report. I was optimistic and recently purchased a Pow CRB, Gather & Crow in black and Wanderful Pant in black. All going to be returned now!! Pow CRB bleeds. G&C has gusset in my butt. Wanderful has strange unsewn seam along inner thigh that puckers on one leg. My word, what a drop in quality. I have not bought anything in months and feel that I have not missed out in any way. I am going to try on lucy pants this evening and then maybe Splits59 at Neiman Marcus. Not worth the effort as much as I still love LL's cute designs, soft fabric and how their items look on me. I instruct classes all day and cannot afford to wonder if my apparel is bleeding and what's being exposed.

Ok without causing a giant uproar here...suggesting we return stuff we're "bored" of and lying about bleeding is only gonna make them give everyone a harder time about returning things ... Oh ya & it's kind of stealing in a way-
& yes I'm sure lulu has "stolen" your money once or twice - doesn't make it ok.
Ot - washed my new pow crb in cold water w Purex laundry sheets no colour came out/transfer etc.
Ran in it today for 40mins hot & sweaty no bleeding/no transfer (yet?) even rubbed a white sock against it to check.
I know it doesn't compare to a 10mile run - just sharing my experience ;)
Also ot - can Anyone recCommend a good running bra ? I already have a zip me up & a 50 rep ...
Thanks !

Since we r all discussing other brands, I decided to branch out and get some beyond yoga capris. Can u run in them also? Or will they get all piling? Are they only for yoga?

@ anon 3:47 I am small chested and run in the run bound (size up), free to be (TTS), power Y (TTS) and the centered energy (TTS). All have worked fine for me.

I completely agree that making up a "bleeding" issue to return an item is ridiculous. Then again people these days do a lot of unethical things so I am not surprised that this happens. Sad.

@ anon 3:54...not sure if you're new to the info and feedback on this blog...Minda regularly comments on this blog (and is sure to eventually see your query) with lots of helpful info on wear/tear and sizing of BY as she has worn it a lot. You may want to go back and read some recent prior posts where she has provided A LOT of BY info. and others have also shared.

I understand that BY gear may not hold up as well as LLL for running...

Pass. Pass. Pass. Ick.

I like big shorts and I can not lie!
- I'm totally gonna get a pair of these big baggy roll down shorts!

@ Amy no running in BY capris - or you will be scooting home with them around your ankles. wash and dry inside out. some say they pill - but i havent had any issue with that. I love them for stuff that isn't jumping running or bouncing all over.

@ Anon 4:00 PM and second part of your comments on ethics etc. Completely agree!

@ Anon 3:47 PM re running bras-

I run about 40 to 50 mile a week and my ta ta tamer is my absolute favourite. I jumped up and down in the change room and... nothing moved. Even looks fabulous enough for casual wear and I have never done that with a sports bra before. I also have a cross my heart which I've been surprised by. Didn't expect it to have such good support (I'm a C). I did size down for the cross my heart and it holds things in place.

OMG, I just saw more pics of the split singlet on Lulumum, and it looks like a Superman cape. Seriously, it billows out behind you as you run. I am a distance runner, and there is no WAY I would wear that. OMG, WHO is designing these things!?!? Impractical and just silly!

Anonymous said...

What do you think of Lole clothes? It's made in Canada too.
just wondering...

Sandra said...

I agree, lying is not ethical even if it is a large successful company or not. My pow pink CRB is awesome, no problems with bleeding other than it released a little pink in water when I washed it. It is 100 times better quality wise than my problematic Ray CRB I recieved and returned. I'm still upset about that and may try to get another in hopes it comes from a "good batch".

@anon 4:38 LOL superman cape!!! Hilar!

Lole rocks the house!!! I adore it! Super quality.

No gracias to the Run Nada jacket. Is this the same reddish jacket posted on the lulu website under jackets and hoodies? I'm hoping no because the shape doesn't appear to be the most flattering.

Anonymous said...

@ groovegirl 5:25, I do not believe the Run Nada Jacket is the same as the one currently pictured under the banner pictures on the LLL site under jackets&hoodies and crops. There you see the inverted LLL symbol in the upper part of that jacket and you can see its bottom/hem under the crops page. It appears to be a longer running jacket. Also appears to have thumbhole cuffs. That one looks great, unless there's a major design gaffe on the back of it.

groovegirl said...

Great catch, anon! Agreed that jacket you mentioned looks cute and is different than the run nada. I prefer the longer shape pictured in the crops section vs what appears to be a boxy, slightly cropped shape in the nada.

Can someone please post a link to the "Lulu facebook page" everyone keeps referring to? I dont know which one it is, there are literally hundreds of fan/store lulu pages on FB.

Thanks! :)

Completely OT: Just wondering if anyone knows what the original price would have been for the Powerhouse Crop. There aren't any on the website and I've found some for sale but wonder how much the seller has marked then up.

Thanks

Anon 624pm : if you scroll down on LuluAddicts page, on the bottom right, there is info about 2 of the lulu discussion pages. Here are the links anyway. You have to ask to join and you will be put on a waiting list apparently.

@anon 4:41 - Lole clothing is awesome!!! Great quality, fit, and design. Lulu used to be my weakness, now it's Lole. It's way too easy to pass on Lulu now with all these issues. Almost makes you look like a fool (think emperor's new clothes) for wearing it!

If you're not already familiar with, here is yet another suggestion for workout gear alternatives. Joe Fresh. We have several in Canada and in the USA they have opened stores in New York, New Jersey and Long Island. They have great clothes of all kinds, period, including great work out wear. Their website is sometimes underwhelming and not at all indicative of everything that they carry in store for women, men & kids. It does not provide enough info on the clothes. You cannot order on-line and the in store stock does not last!
Even right now, in store I have seen some great "flash light" colour t-shirts and tanks. The prices for everything are very economical and it's all well made.

Anyway, if you're near a location, make some regular rounds as you are likely to score something you like. Again, it goes quickly and new stuff is always arriving!

@ Anon 6:25 PM. I cannot remember if the full retail for the powerhouse crop was $78 or $86. I think $78 because I tried them on and am sure I would not have bothered if they were $86. Regardless, I ended up not buying them. I did not hate them or love them. I remember thinking they were nicer in person vs. viewing online.

Price is no longer listed, but you an still read the reviews if you did not already, good luck.

Hi All! I have two questions I am hoping you can help with. First, the BY colored capris. Does anyone have these? Do they show bum dimples? I find that the light colored Lulu just doesn't work on me, but I'd love colored crops!! Maybe the BY fabric covers more? Also, Lole. I looked at their site, and they have cute stuff! I'd like to try it. How does the sizing compare to Lulu? I am a 4 in lulu pretty much across the board.... Des anyone know how that translates? Thank you all!!!

@ anon 3:47 pm - I like the Ta Ta Tamer myself for running.

Anonymous said...

I used to work in Nordstrom hosiery and people would return old pantyhose and socks that had clearly been worn many times. They would hand me dirty clothing and demand their money back because the item 'didn't work out' for them. I would smile, hand them $0.99 (because that was the Rack clearance price), and desperately wish I had rubber gloves on to dispose of their used clothing.

Yes, lululemon needs to work on their quality control and customer service, and some of their practices are unethical, but I would never take something back long after the fact unless the item was truly defective!!

Anonymous said...

yuck 1:05AM ! I agree with you I rarely return anything from Lulu or any other shop unless it is defective, or it does not perform as promised. I noticed a lot of people buy things that may not be suited for their body type or age and then complain.
I for one know that I am too busty to wear some of lulu's gear and I stay clear from it

I have a couple of running singlets in the swift material, not the run marathon tanks, but the ones that came out last July? They are nice and light, but feel almost too delicate, like one careless yank could rip the fabric. Also, while they do dry very quickly and pretty good at wicking, they also get soaking wet very quickly if you sweat a lot. Oh, and both tanks have light pilling at the top of the bra area (?) and under the armpits.

Anonymous said...

The pop orange scoop me up tank is at the Union Square store in NYC. the material is a lot softer than all the other colors. I also saw a flash lift and separate bra there. I was tempted to get it but I did not since I have already ordered the ray.
I sure hope it does not bleed <
