May Wee Are From Space Cool Racerback?

A reader pointed out this photo on the Australian homepage. What do you think, is it a May Wee Are From Space Cool Racerback or just a sweaty Fossil WAFS CRB? I swear I see blue in the pattern.

It looks kind of like my arise bra (after a good sweat) in wee stripe fossil.

Ray/seaside dot run inspire crops uploaded to the lulu site!

It looks like the Practice Freely top in the fossil wee are from space/fossil. The bra portion is the arise bra.

Btw the seaside dot inspires uploaded to the US!

There's new stuff up on the website that I'm sure wasn't there yesterday.. A new pattern Twisted Stripe Bruised Berry in the hats, the ray/ seaside dot crops, flash light hot & swewaty skirt..

I'm interested to see more in the stripe pattern! I wonder if that's what's on the waistband of the new boogie shorts, or maybe Twisted Stripe Flash Light?

All run: a marathon crops skirts and singlets gone from website. Had two of the skirts in my cart from yesterday and was able to buy them for $59 a piece . I have been waiting for them to go on sale. I adore them and have run many long runs in the one I have. HAs this happened to anyone before? Something still in your cart that is no longer on the website that you can still buy? Kind of weird because they are not in WMTM section yet but purchased for a reduced price.

Decided to go to a lll store and get some stuff, well I had a handful of stuff and when i went to try them on, the girl said ,oh and what do you want these items for, I said shorts for kick boxing, and I need some thing to throw on when I leave kick boxing and go to the gym. She tells me, that LLL doesn't have kick boxing clothes, I said yes I know, but I like the turbo shorts because they dry quick and would like to maybe get some more or try some thing different, she rolled her eyes at me, then she said, what are you looking for to wear to the gum, I said maybe just a loose pair of crops to throw over my shorts, she laughed and said oh that's a good look! I was really put off, I have never had treatment like that before at that store, and I think that just because a tag doesn't list all the sports that that item is god for,as long as it works for me what does she care? As I was trying in the items, I eard her say to another worker, that people should know that this is running and yoga wear, after I was done I was so mad and said this is the reason I purchase 90% of my stuff of line and walked out.

Anonymous said...

@anon 6:52- that is Sooo frustrating! I completely agree, lots of lulu gear is multipurpose (and not just to the purposes they say)! I don't really run and only occasionally do yoga, but I love their shorts for kick boxing and love WUC for going to bootcamp. It is really unfortunate that lulu has a "snobby" reputation, but sometimes stories like yours make me realize why the brand is seen that way. I would have said something rude back like "oh we'll how many pairs of groove pants have you sold to twelve year old girls lately?" because I'm pretty sure it would be a lot, and most wouldn't be using them at the gym/yoga class!

Anonymous said...

Wow Anon 6:52... I have never had an experience like that ever, anywhere! How truly hurtful, and damaging to the brand no less. I don't see why you shouldn't wear LLL kickboxing... I wear it all the time for weight lifting and it works great.
I wish they made stores without sales associates. I would definitely shop more often! I can't stand how annoying and aggressive they can be. I understand they have a sales quota to reach but leave me alone I can pick out my clothes by myself!

Anonymous said...

Wow! That is unbelievable. You'd think they would want the sales no matter what you're using the clothes for. I buy "yoga" LLL styles for barre class. Does that mean that I'm misusing the brand? Crazy.

Anonymous said...

Since I am posting anonymously, I will make this confession, I wear my Run Swiflt SS for yoga. I know, I know, I can just imagine the shock out there. Sometimes it's nice to wear a lightweight breathable top with lotsa coverage. It's lighter than cotton and just as breathable.

Anonymous said...

Oh! If those marathon crops go in Loot, I will pick up another pair. I adore mine! Maybe my husband won't notice that I have them in two different colors? He just doesn't get my addiction. Speaking of addiction... I now have an entire laundry load worth of Paris pink, Flash, and Flash Light items (the bleeders). This is convenient for keeping other items free of stray dyes in the wash, but I think it might indicate that I need to STOP buying flash stuff. :)

WOW ! ANON @ 6:52
Unbelievable how rude ! I would have reported her to the manager and walked out of the store !

macfrannie said...

@ anon at 6:52-I'm just flabbergasted. I'm not the most extroverted person and I like to shop in peace rather then buzzed by every educator on the floor. I do a lot of reasearch on the LLL items I'm interested in buying and if I have questions I'll ask. I don't like the aggressive sales approach some of the educators take. They need to understand there are different personality types and if I feel too uncomfortable with the pushy attitude I'll walk out and not purchase anything.

That being said, I've never, ever had someone treat me as you describe. I did have a educator get huffy with me once when I told her I had LOTS of LLL items and I didn't need the sales pitch after she was about the 3rd or 4th educator that had approached me in about 15 minutes of browsing. I'm an old lady and can get cranky and I think my response in your situation would have been to smile sweetly and ask to see the manager and then ask the educator to repeat back to the manager what was said to me. That is, if I was able to pick my jaw up off the floor and shake off my stunned speechlessness from the blatant rudeness I'd just experienced.

Crash said...

Anon 6:52am, that is terrible. I'm pretty sure you could do any sport imaginable in a crb and Turbo shorts. Why wouldn't lll want their brand used in a variety of ways? I'm a Crossfitter and run a little every now and then, never do yoga, and wear lll almost exclusively when working out. I know what works for me, and that's what I buy, whether it's "designed for" that purpose or not. So boooooo on that sales girl.

That said, I too had a very unique experience at my local store yesterday, but in a very positive way. I was trying on the new white/metallic silver In Stride jacket, and the sales girl was telling me how cute it looked, it was a great fit, etc. I said I just don't know, it's hard to buy a jacket when it's 100 degrees outside (I'm in TX), and she paused for a moment, then said "You know, if you don't absolutely love it, you shouldn't get it. It's a lot of money for something if you're not 100% sure." You could have knocked me over with a feather! I've never heard that in a lll store. I smiled really big, told her "Thank you very much, and I completely agree", handed her the jacket back, and went to pay for my other items. I was very appreciative of her attitude and just thought I'd share.

Has anyone had experience with the Marathon Crops running a little small? I just got a pair in the mail yesterday and while ever other crop I got fits in size 8 the Marathon in 8 seems too snug at the waist. As in muffin top and the waistband seemed to slip down because it was too tight. I was hoping to exchange it in the store but if they're going to WMTM I'll hope to buy online. Just want to make sure if I size up it won't be too big in other areas since I'll be stuck with a final sale.

Lina Thomlinson said...

Oh crap! I just checked my order info online and it says no returns or exchanges are allowed on the Marathon Crops. What?! I swear it didn't say that when I ordered them or I wouldn't have placed the order. Now I'm going to cry. $88 on a pair of crops I can't wear?!

Anonymous said...

Sourkraut, I size up in crops and WUs. I'm an 8 in Astros and Grooves, but I buy a 10 in the tighter-fitting stuff. My size 10 marathon crops fit perfectly. However, I also have the Run in the Sun crops in a 10, and feel like I could have worn an 8. The Sun crops are less compressive I think, and thus less tight. I still love them though. Ran in them this morning. We have different fit issues though. I have a tiny waist and flat stomach, but ample hips and thighs. When I size up, I definately have to use the drawstring to cinch in the waist a bit except for WUs. But I think WU just fit tighter everywhere. Just my thoughts. Hope you find some crops you love!

Lina Thomlinson said...

@Anon 8:17 AM -- Thanks for the feedback! I was comparing the fit to the Sun Sprinter crops and I can tell the overall fit is much snugger for the Marathon. Alas, I do have big hips and thighs like you but without the flat stomach. Consider yourself lucky! Still sounds like sizing up is the way to go for me.

Alright, reading into their return policy more it seems that the crops are probably going to WMTM within the two-week return window so I can't return/exchange online. But I can still do so in a store? Let's hope or I might wind up crying in the middle of the store.

Anonymous said...

@Sourkrau: Mach dir keine Sorgen! Es ist mir auch schon mal passiert. You can indeed return them because you bought them at full-price.
More than once the items I have just bought disappear from the site because they are headed for the WMTM section, and almost automatically my online order tracking will state that item is no longer elegible for return. The first time it happened to me, I was upset and contacted the GEC asking the reason why I could not return an item I bought at full price. They explained I could always return it within the 14 day window, and that the statement you see online is automatically generated by their system when an item is markdown.
So I would return the crops and simply get them once they are back on sale, if you still want the style.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, I misspelled Sourkraut.

Lina Thomlinson said...

@Anon 8:48 AM -- Vielen Dank! Ich fühle mich jetzt viel besser. I think I'll do exactly as you suggested, return and then keep an eye out for the reduced price to crop up online.

macfrannie said...

I must say, I've learned so much today. Now I know why the bag I've been pondering buying has all of the sudden disappeared. I'll be lurking on the WMTM site for certain now. Has anyone noticed a time interval for when an item is pulled and when one is listed on WMTM?

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 6:52 am - That's just awful! What a dope and not a very good salesperson. You would think she'd be glad to know of an alternate use for those shorts that she could then use to sell them to another customer. It's supposed to be ATHLETIC apparel after all. I can see trying to discourage someone from buying a low support yoga top for a high impact sport but WTF, shorts are shorts. You should write in to the GEC about your experience. They might pass the feedback on to the store.

Anonymous said...

I purchased a pair of the marathon crops too and had that problem. I could barely get them over my thighs and I'm the same size in all my lulu stuff. It was just the waist part that was so tight though.

That's the free to be me bra in silver. Sooo cute, right!

educators make me laugh with their sales pitches when they tell you about fabric and uses and moisture wicking and washing instructions and fit. i just smile and nod.

but seriously, when you can see i am WEARING the exact SAME thing but maybe a different colour and you start telling me about it, a "cool, let me know if you have any questions" would probably suffice. :P

Oh and the top in the pic looks like a fossil arise or something w/ a thinner strap. Or could be the practice freely tank too! Don't want to burst anyone bubble, but I don't see any blue/greens. I know, I'm disappointed too!

@anon 6:52am
In regards to the Educator that was "educating" you about product usage, that is only made for specific intended sport. Dear Educator, why do you think lulu has been giving out bags with POSER on it? I am definitely a poser when I wore my Tie & Fly tank to my yoga class on a very warm day. Nice and cooling! The versatility of these items is one of the reasons that I love them so much. I will definitely bring her behavior to the attention of the higher ups. At least that way we can hope that no one will have to go through what you did.

Anonymous said...

@sourkraut - you should still be able to return them in the store since you paid full price...just take order slip

the marathon crops are $49 in my store so hopefully they will be MD online!

Anonymous said...

I gotta agree that the Aussie pic is of fossil WAFS, not May WAFS. Just looks like sweated through gray, no blues or greens. And it totally bums me out! I loved menthol, really like porcelain, think the May WAFS on the top of my Inspires is adorable. I would LOVE a Power Y or CRB in May WAFS.

Anonymous said...

I think the Poser bags are meant to mean Poser as in YOGA poses. Poses-Poser? That's how I read them, as I'm pretty sure they aren't intending their customers to be walking around with self-insulting bags. At least I hope not!

Anonymous said...

Call the GEC and report your experiences. The GEC DOES call the store manager and relay that info.

Anonymous said...

@macfrannie

Regarding the elapsed time for an item to show up in the WMTM section after being pulled from its category, it really varies or is unpredictable at worst. For instance, the Bliss Bag showed up in markdown right the next day! While I'm still waiting for the Ride on Rain Jacket in Black or Dune to show up in WMTM (only orange was in this category). I know not all sizes sold out, and because it was in my shopping bag online, I saw it was markdown (it's priced -1), but til this day, it has not gone to the WMTM.
In another occasion, I bought a pair of pants, and two days later they were markdown (saw the -1 on my online bag), and only two full weeks later they showed up in WMTM.

I've been trying to figure out this process but so far, it seems rather random to me.

Anonymous said...

Ha! I didnt get the yoga connect with "poser" until now. Funny.
Anyway, OT: I just decided to read more about the sun sprinter ss because it was in the PN for my showroom, and I've been considering getting another ss top. But it's $70!!! For a tee shirt to sweat in! For reals, Lulu? Maybe it's due to the UPF, which is a feature that I don't really even need. But this is a definate no for me now.

macfrannie said...

@ Anon 11:26-Thanks for the info. Now that I know a dissapearing product is a harbinger of a WMTM debut I'll try to be more alert.

Anonymous said...

Just a thought--could the top photo (of the tank/bra) be the same color as the Inspire Crops in "wee are from space deep indigo", that are still available on the cdn site?

Anonymous said...

I interpreted the Poser bag as Yogibabe did. An arrogant "tongue in cheek" from lulu. Remember the "Who is John Galt" bag? So, this is up to par with the things that lulu do, imo anyway. As a yogi myself, never consider myself as a poser, just because I do the poses.

anonymous me said...

Anon @ 6:52 AM, that's a horrendous experience. I hope you walked out and I agree with the person who said report it.

We have several stores in my city and the closest I sometimes try to avoid because a few (not all) of the staff are highly obnoxious. Especially annoying is one employee who hovers over you and then if you ask for help with a size or if they have a particular item you've seen online in stock, snottily remarks "if you don't see it we don't have it!"

Meanwhile, there is another local store that will ring everyone under the sun trying to track your item down and everyone is really pleasant, helpful but not pushy, and honest if something just doesn't look right on you.

BTW, when asked what I'm using the clothes for, I always say things like advanced lying on the sofa, a long flight with a small child, being a lazy ass but looking athletic, or once last week, comfortable Euro Cup watching wear. At the nice store, they always laugh and write meditation.

Guess which store gets more revenue from me. Guess which store gets any returns.

Report the rude employee.

I wear my LLL clothes on the weekends when I know I'll spend most of my time in the kitchen cooking. Yes, I wear a pair of WU, a sports bra, a CRB and if I get a bit cold, I put on a Define and just hike up the sleeves so they don't get on my way when I'm chopping LOL Hopefully they'll come up with a nice apron design soon, in a water-repellant, light-weight fabric, no UPF needed, unless I BBQ outdoors, but that would increase the price I'm willing to pay for a lulu apron.

Anonymous said...

@ Anonymous Me: "advanced Lying on the sofa" is my new fave quote from this blog! Too too funny!!!

Anonymous said...

Haha...maybe thats the same educator I ran into earlier in the year, though my experience wasn't nearly as rude.
Some background:
I don't like luon for hot vinyasa, so I HATE WU. Maybe it's just me but they don't breath or hold their shape anywhere near as good as the luxtreme crops in humidity. So, I buy the "run" crops for my hot yoga.
So i walk into a store (and I never go to stores, seriously, like i step in a store maybe 3 times a year and that's just because of coincidence). But It's always a gift just to go.
So I had already researched what I was looking for so i was prepared to grab what i wanted to try on.
An educator approached me when I had 4-5 crops in hand and asked me what I was buy for (noticing that I had all luxtreme crops). I said "I know...they aren't made for yoga, but I just prefer the running material for hot yoga". I was very pleasant, even though in retrospect my answer was seemingly apologetic.
Well, she just rolled her eyes and said, "Aaaaaalright! Well YOU'RE the boss I guess..."

Haha...unbelievable right? You can't make this stuff up. But If I want to purchase something...especially expensive somethings...I don't get the judgement. I mean, she was wearing Lulu clothes just to "educate" me in. So why can't I yoga myself in run crops!?!

Sourkraut - I had opposite experience with marathon crops. I ordered them online and they fit but felt like I needed to size down from usual WU size. I guess its a bodyshape thing for how it will fit. I have super fit legs and rear - but a tummy I am trying to blast into oblivion! LOL. Anyway -I am sure you can return them in store within the 14 day buying timeframe they have.

---Anon 6:52 I'm so sorry about your insane experience!! But it really doesn't surprise me. LL sales people are so UGH. HEY I have a confession! I don't even do yoga. Maybe I strike an artful pose now and then that could be sun salutatory - and maybe one day if I can find a yoga place I enjoy going to I will go -but I use my Lulu for spin, body pump barbell classes!, i've gone to pure barre countlessly in them, attend university classes while in Lulu (exercising the brain!), i've even been sitting on a couch mouth breathing with a video game controller in hand wearing lulu!! - i'm glad you said something to that sales person. i would have probably tried on everything in the store and left a nice big heap for her to refold/hang too. .. but I'm just MEANSPIRITED! hheheeheee OHhhh and the dance studio pants (no liner) are nice as a cover up over groove shorts for a suggestion to wear to your kick boxing! Have a great day and don't let that person rain on your parade!

Anonymous said...

I complained and boycotted the store! The girl was exasperated whe I came with some online returns! What's the big deal! It's not like its their money they have to pay!

Anyway I felt better once I wrote the email. Nothing came of it! Except now I just have to travel further to the other lulus! It's just too bad because I used to leave the store each time feeling like I had just chatted up an old friend! And now they are as unhappy as every other salesperson! Bah! I know I wouldn't be if I worked at lulu!

Anonymous said...

Wow, I haven't had anyone suggest I should not be wearing this item or that because of my sport. That's insane. They have actually been very nice at my store, helpful but not pushy at all -- none of them. They're also super cool about returns.

There is one salesperson who occasionally says, "You've reached your limit for Lulu," jokingly but it makes me feel self-conscious. That seems like it should be on their "don't utter" list, don't you think?

Anonymous said...

Minda, & others, this is my first belly laugh of my day & it's 9:00 pm...Thanks!! You totally made my day & I feel so justifed sitting on my bed, watching Ghost Hunters & reading the Lulu blogs....while "advance power lounging" in my Lulu attire!

silly sales person. I use a lot of my lulu stuff like the ls swiftly for racing sailboats, the same with the crb. I do a lot of weight lifting and HIIT trainging as well as kettle bells and lulu is what I wear.
I also wear some of the tanks to work with a nice light sweater or jacket on top and in the evening I just wear the tanks alone.
I think some of lulus tanks are way too sexy for working out in and they work well for a night out.

I am in NYC and the educators seem to be aware that a lot of people wear lulu not just for working out
