Run In the Sun Pullover |
I went to the store today to check out the Flash/Dune Wee Stripe Daily tank and to check out the Beachy Floral Cool Racebacks. While I was there I tried on the Run: In the Sun LS and pullover in Blush Quartz. I really liked the feel of the material - it felt a lot like super lightweight luxtreme. It was very silky feeling. I liked the LS better than the pullover. The LS only has the ruffle in the back which is kind of cute but the PO had it in the front and it made the blush one look like a nightie. Both tops are very roomy and long. They hit me below my crotch (I'm 5'5"). I tried the next size down but the Blush version is very see-through and it revealed all my flaws. I guess you could layer under it but that would defeat the purpose of wearing such a lightweight top. If I had a money tree in the backyard I'd buy the Blush or Porcelaine LS version and then figure out what to wear it for (I know right now I wouldn't run in it since it's too hot) but since I don't I'll live without it.
I tried on the Flash/Dune wee stripe Daily tank while I was there to see if I liked the color. Flash and Heathered Flash are just way too bright for me but the Dune wee stripe really tones it down. I definitely want to get a CRB in this color. I'm not sure if I need the Define since I have a similar color one in Passion but I want to try it on.
I ended up getting the Fossil Beachy Floral Cool Racerback. I've been wearing CRBs for running so now trying to build my collection back up in them.

LLA- I love getting your store reports. Question- in that first photo, the one featuring the white RITS long sleeve, would you say that fit is indicative of TTS look or more of a size down photo?
Thanks in advance.
I just received the RiTS long sleeve and its true to size. Not super fitted like the swiftys. Not too baggy but just big enough to layer a tank under if you wanted. I love the material, soft and cool.
I agree, the RiTS LS is true to size. Although the pullover runs large. I usually wear a 6, but there was room to spare in a 4. I'm 36-27-36. I thought the pullover looked like a pajama top on me! I am 5'3" and it looked much better when I tacked up the ruffle so that it didn't show. I didn't buy either tops as they didn't do anything for me. Vicki
Thank you for the store trip report!
The Heathered Menthol Cool Racerback is back in stock! Sizes 4,6,8,10 as of right now.
Free To Be Bra is restocked online in black and white. I'm hoping they bring back the Energy Bra sometime soon too!!!!
Does the blush color match or coordinate with the April wee stripe pattern?
@anon 4:26am
Yay!! Was going to post about the Free To Be bra too! Thanks! So glad that I managed to snag one of each. :) Been waiting for a loooong time for this. Hopefully it will come in other colors and your Energy bra will make a comeback too! :)
Almost forgot...the Groove pants in white denim is available in sizes 4&6. Grab it quick! There are also some random re stocking of crops in some sizes.
I just got my first CRB (most of them don't look great on me, but the Jacquard mesh one works).
Now I need a bra to wear under it... I tried on a Centered Energy, but it just didn't work for me. The Flow Y cuts into my traps (left angry red welts after 10 minutes on).
Will the Free to Be Bra work? I'm 32D, but I don't carry my tissue outwardly, it's more on the sides. And I am petite overall.
Aw darn! I ordered the LS a size down based on all the previous comments about how roomy the pullover is...I assumed both styles had the same fit!
The fabric on the run: in the sun ls is SO comfortable. I ended up with two blacks and a pink. I'm not a runner and I live in a cooler climate, so I sized up to a 10 from my usual 6 or 8 to wear a tank under. Not so keen on the pullover, but I think it's because I like the neckline on the ls better.
I'm debating going back for a porcelaine, but I think my lulu budget is already blown for the month! :(
FYI - just saw a pair of wee stripe dune flash wunder under crops on ebay. so cute!
@lululilly...interesting about the bra fit. personally, the flow y and deep breath are the only ones that work for me so far, i have not tried the tata tamer. so sorry to hear it doesn't work for you, hope someone has a suggestion!
i am a c cup and i personally love the deep breath bra...i love love love the fit and comfort. i do find it supportive enough to run and for cardio classes. not sure if that is true for all. i find both tts for me.
i found personally the arise fits me awful, perhaps i could size up but it was too short in the front and too tight around the band in my regular size. the centred energy i wear as an every day item as it has zero support for my activities, i found the same problem, kind of short in the front and not supportive for running (its designed for yoga but i liked the unique look and took a chance.)
i guess i like my bras to fit higher in the front, unsure if its a cup thing or a personal preference thing.
i do wear both the flow y and deep breath with my crb's but i also don't mind a little bra sticking out.
@ Anon 1:53,
Actually, the Deep Breath bra is the best fitting bra for me. Even better than my beloved "older" style Ta Ta Tamer. However, the folds of the fabric always show through my tanks/ tops and that sort of bugs me. Too bad, because it's super flattering and super comfortable on me. :(
And I agree, the Arise isn't great, that's why I don't own one. Although I do love me my Practice Freely tanks (that basically have the Arise bra attached). But I don't use the PFs for running or high impact, just pilates on reformer and casual wear.
Still hoping someone else w/ similar size and more familiarity w/ lulu bras will chime in. :)
I tried on a million things today. Only left with 4, though. Phew!
I keep trying to make the on-sale Ride on Henley work for me because I love the button sleeves so much. Alas, I still look flattened on top and preggers below.
Bought the define in porcelain and the XL CRB (surprise; it looked nice), plus porcelain floral power y (it was between that and the floral CRB, but I didn't want to have to buy a matching bra for the CRB), and the deep breath-like tank with the fussy boob fabric. Not for yoga but nice for evening-wear.
All of that SPF stuff felt horrid. No temptation there. Didn't even try them on.
i am a newbie to lll...been buying for 2 years now. next week, i am travelling and will have access to an actual lll store wow! any suggestions of must tries for in store? i tend to stick to tried and true items for myself (love crb's, flow y, studio crops). i do cardio classes, weights at home, pilates reformer at home, and am a newbie runner (about 6 months now). still working on my legs so not so comfortable in the short shorts:) i am not a big pant purchaser as i have not had access to hemming. more a crop girl.
i wanted to check out the fit of the stride and define jackets in person as i was wondering about length on me and the stride has that enormous collar that i am unsure of for me. any favourites to suggest??
Not to go off topic, but I got the ebb n flow crops n did the bend over test. I got in the black and indigo In size 4 and 6. I usually wear size 4s in everything. Let's just say they will be going back. Totally see through. I thought going up a size would solve this, but NO WAY, no how!! Girls, please do this test before wearing. I'm a petite girl so I was surprised when I did the test. Such disappointment!!
Try it alllllll on girl!
erg...I think I'm going to have to spring for the flash/dune wee stripe CRB (they'll make a CRB, right?), as I have yet to try a daily tank but I predict it would fall off my shoulders... :-/
Also think I want the RITS pullover, as I am annoyed with the boat neck on the LS...but am having a hard time with the pullover price...
