Yuck. What's with the accent fabric? Looks like apron fabric. Or my grandma's throw pillows.
I like the plaid but not for men's shorts. They look too feminine. Look at the bright side, they could've been polka dots!
I almost spit out coffee that was in my mouth seeing this ! So tacky ! HORRIBLE !
I love them! Though they are a bit girly. The guys definitely got the better shorts...why couldn't they make the girls shorts to match?!?
I think those look like a bathing suit.
My husband would not be caught dead in these! Of course there's no danger of him running a half-marathon anyway. :)
What a huge fail. If they had just issued plain black shorts to people the response would have been "cool, free shorts!" Instead they pick these awful patterns that people cannot wait to put on ebay. I wouldn't count on a medal at the end. They said they were going to have some super special items at the end. If this is what they came up with for the free clothing item you can just imagine how fabulous the finish line is going to be.
Madras and cornflower. This is pretty bad. I guess if all the men wear it at the same time nobody would notice the details. We hope.
@ anon 2:32 pm - LOL. My expectations have always been low. I'm hoping the race isn't a major cl*sterf**k but I'm going to try to be prepared for the worst.
Trying to keep positive, girls shorts look like underwear, the guys shorts look like pj's, hopefully they put more of the budget into the race, it has better be a REALLY good band for them to fuck us over every other way. I would also like to point out that the shorts are NOT FREE. MOST half marathons cost $50-$60, and you get a goodie bag, a t-shirt a medal and food at the end. WE PAID FOR THESE UGLY ASS SHORTS!!
WOW the men's are even worse than the womens! How embarassing! Maybe it's a joke? Or is the Sea Wheeze also a sort of test to see how blind participants are to the ugliness of the shorts? That is, how many people will actually think they are cool and show up on race day wearing? Maybe it's a big experiment! Of course people paid for the shorts with your registration. It's one of the highest fees I've ever seen, so you would THINK the swag would be superior (it's wait & see rest) AND that the shorts (no shirt) would be so special that a) you'd love to wear them and b) they're VERY special as you only get them if you ran the race (and very tacky if you didn't run it and bought them off ebay or the like; yes, I'd judge you in that situation). I would run the Sea Wheeze but I live in Ontario so it would be way too costly. Don't need to run it that badly! It's LLL and it's cool they're doing it, but it's just another race.
