I wish that Lulu would come out with a SE lightweight version of a scuba. I really love this style and I only have one but it's because while it's nice and warm from the thickness, it's also quite stiff which I don't love so much. Plus, it's spring and soon onto summer in North America and something lighter would be more seasonally appropriate. I have a Free To Be jacket that I love, but since I only have one I try not to wear it too much in order to preserve it. I think a lightweight scuba would be stellar!
@becky: I have to admit, my Lulu obsession began with the Sing Floss Travel jacket. It's lighter weight then the scuba, softer, and stretchier...and longer! It's similar to the Live Simply jacket, only not as long...the Live Simply was much too long for me and overwhelmed my frame. In my opinion, the Scubas are too short...it's unfortunate that the Scuba seems to be the only hoodie that comes out in the fun colors/prints, because I really don't like the fit of it all the much. I think I have every color the SFT came out in except for Wren and Surge. Whoops! If you watch ebay, you can get some good deals on them. I'm hoping they come back this spring/summer...in GREEN!! :)And completely OT, but what is it with Lulu and their complete lack to conform to holiday colors? I would have LOVED a cute green top for St. Patty's day, or a nice, rich red (or green!) for Christmas. I think Currant had come and gone long before Christmas this past year.
The idea of wanting a scuba at this time of year is crazy to me. I live in central Illinois and for the past three weeks, it's been 70-80 degrees out. I'm wearing shorts/tanks everywhere and still hot (;
I just purchased my first scuba the other day and think I may return it - not loving how thick and heavy it is!
Ahh.. the SFT looks like it's the length of a Stride, which I also have and like, but I tend to have wider hips so I don't love when their jackets come down that far, the scuba length for me is just about perfect. But with the transition to spring, I'm surprised they really haven't released anything lightweight unless I've completely missed it. They put out scubas all year long though, and I'd just friggin love something a little thinner and more flexible. I am in TOTAL agreement about the holiday thing, you would think they'd have a bit of fun with the holidays and matching up colors a bit and they NEVER do! Lulu also seems to have an aversion to pretty greens which peeves me. Give me a bright, pretty green, not something with a yellow undertone or pale. I have a savage green Salutation tank from two (I think) years ago that I'll be wearing tomorrow, but I'd love another variation of green from them. Why can't the ladies get a color like the previous mens color Clean Green????
I agree they should make a Scuba Light. Back in the days of the Remix hoodie (old scuba, basically), they came out with a Remix Light, which I LOVED. The regular of the scuba and remix was /is just too heavy. And personally , unless you're super skinny, I think they make you look frumpy.
Do we know the price of this scuba?
I've yet to find a Scuba that I really love. The sleeves are too bulky and wide, and the body is too short for my torso. Plus, they're often heavy and stiff (except for certain prints and colors).SFT is another story.
Which store, LLA?
I love the scuba hoodies - but I'm also always cold (and we're expecting 10-20 inches in the next few days in northern Arizona, so I might be into buying warm stuff at next upload -though flip flop weather today, very confused our environment is!!). I was hoping they would come out with a black wee are from space hoodie, but was hoping the accents would be black (yes, I'm boring)...but will have to be on the lookout. Thanks again for this blog (and participants), glad to know I'm not the only Lulu crazed out there.v
I have two scubas, and while I don't love the look on me, I love the scuba- great weight for spring and fall. The sleeves on me are too long, and the length doesn't hit my body at the most flattering point.I got really serious into lulu when the river rock colored stuff came out- and have been an addict ever since. I got a jacket in loot back then- it was a dark gray (coal) with river rock accents. I have no idea what the jacket is- sing floss maybe? It's french terry, and longer than a jacket has a right to be- but it works on my figure beautifully. Not only does it look great, it is super snuggly. I'm dying to know what the style is exactly- anyone out there remember? I get confused between the strides, in strides, and so on.....
@MonkeyGirl-I think you have the much coveted Wear With All Jacket :-).
It was at South Coast Plaza anon 1:33 pmI would LOVE if the Remix Light or Remix Lux - light versions of the Scuba's predecessor came back. I wear one nearly every day.I am getting a lot of use out of my Scubas this winter. Anytime the weather is in the 60s or lower I wear it. My kids play soccer so it's great for watching games on chilly mornings.
@houndlvlr67, you are right!!! I googled it and found it- thank you! I love that jacket. Maybe the style will make another appearance.
Okay for some reason, even while it was out, I had it in my mind that the SFT jacket was longer than it actually is. I think I was confusing it with the Wear With All jacket, which IS too long for my preference. Now I want Lulu to re-release the SFT!! Pretty please!?!
