New Bra - Boobs on a Wire

Boobs on a Wire (aka, BOAW)

 Ta Ta Tamer (aka, TTT)

Lululemon has a new underwire bra out - the Boobs on a Wire. As someone who prefers an underwire bra it looks promising but I can't say I like the name. It'll be even more embarrassing asking for this than for a Ta Ta Tamer. "Hi, is the Boobs on a Wire in yet?"  The image the name inspires is rather painful, too. From this point on I will refer to it as the BOAW. I wonder whether the 38DD will be as elusive to find in the BOAW as it is in the TTT. I'm not really a 38DD but the Lululemon bra band seems to run a size small compared to my DKNY and Champion Powerback bras.

The BOAW certainly looks like it has a more natural shape than the TTT. My boobs have a such a weird shape in the TTT - like half coconuts on my chest - and they sit up so high it's like they reside under my chin. Anyway, I look forward to trying this on. I'm excited at the thought of a really supportive bra in colors that match my clothes. Shivers!

Product Information:

  • Discreet, low-neck high support bra. Lightweight, all-day comfort for the C-DD cup girl!
  • 4-way stretch power luxtreme™ fabric has inherent wicking & high LYCRA® content for maximum support
  • Flexible underwire separates breasts & bra sits flat against the body for more support
  • Wide padded gel straps distribute weight & won't dig in!
  • Gel padded hook-&-eye closure for easy on/off
  • Adjustable, crossable straps!

Sports Bras

The New York Times had a great article on sports bras the other day. I don't know if the article itself had any earth shattering information but the comments were very instructive. For instance, quite a few well-endowed women runners said they wear an encapsulation style bra and then layer a compression style over it to totally kill bounce. Have any of you tried that? I don't run so I don't bounce insanely and the Champion Powerback (the white bra above, an encapsulation style) gives me good enough support for doing intervals on the elliptical.  I also learned the best bounce test is jumping jacks. I usually jump up and down but will now start doing jumping jacks when testing tanks and bras. Finally, the most-mentioned bras that helped larger-breasted women were by Enell, of course. The second most were by Moving Comfort. For those of you who use Enell bra, does it work with any Lululemon tanks? I.e., not show underneath them? I haven't upgraded to an Enell but might consider it.

New Pant - Yoga Harem Pant (Ugh) and Pics of Other New Items

Lululemon has come out with another harem-style pant - the Yoga Harem pant. They probably put these into production before the market decided they didn't want them. I'm not a huge fan of the dropped crotch but I did like the previous harem-style pant - the Here I Am Crop which had pleated pockets but no dropped crotch and are very comfortable. I have three pairs of them. I think these newest pants are destined for the markdown rack.

A good photo showing the inside of the Awareness tank and that the interior tank is full length. I'm not sure what market this double-layered tank is made for - chilly yoga studios? I wouldn't mind if they sold something like the outer portion by itself that I could wear over my own sports bra.

OT: Zobha Men's Line

Zobha just introduced a men's line. It's very simple - just a sleeveless tee, regular tee, hot yoga short, longer short, long pant, and a couple of jackets. The colors are also simple - black, white, navy, and dark green. I like their model.  ;-)

Did you see that Zobha has a wrap skirt to put over your leggings? That's an item missing from Lululemon's line.

Pics - Jackets in Bright Colors

I love this photo of the Senorita Pink Scuba and Lolo Scuba together. Such fun colors!

There is also a new Lolo Purple Wear With All out in stores in the US.

Pics of New Stuff - New Jacket: The Audrey & New Print in Modern Crew Neck Tee

The Audrey Jacket

This is a very cute new jacket - The Audrey Jacket. It is $228. It's like a longer version of last year's Bomber Jacket.

Product Details:
-classic jacket with all the function of a technical softshell
- softshell fabric has 2-way stretch and protects from wind and rain
- soft fleece inside for warmth and comfort

River Rock Awareness Tank - It's $64/68

The Awareness also comes in Lolo, Senorita, and Static Charcoal. If the under layer is a full length tank instead of a bra, this will be too hot for cardio workouts. It's circle mesh underneath and luxtreme on top. For $64/68 it's pretty pricey. I think this will hit the markdown rack quickly.  She is wearing Tadasana pants in this photo.

Lululemon Lab - Spin Me Tee - Like It!

I used to think the Lululemon Lab's clothes were a little too out-there to be practical but for the past few months they've come out with a lot of very cute wearable items. This is the Spin Me Tee made out of circle mesh with a power mesh back panel. It comes in black and is $64. I would love if this made it into production as-is except make the upper arms a little looser - it looks like it is pulling on her.

I would love if Lululemon came out with a plain, solid colored long-sleeve tee made out of a technical fabric like running luon or light luon to throw on over a tank or sports bra to use on cooler days. It would be the long sleeve equivalent of the Cool Racerback - a simple basic top with clean lines that I could get in multiple colors. It doesn't need pleats or color blocking, just a flattering fit. I guess it would be the technical version of the Modern Tee except with a long sleeve.

News on Inspire Pullover

Scuttlebutt on Facebook was that the US GEC mistakenly let some people phone order the new Inspire Pullover. They were later contacted and told they can't sell it until it hits the stores and the orders were cancelled. However, it sounds like it will be fore sale pretty soon. The price is going to be $99 and the available colors are: heathered lolo (I would think it should be called static based on the above photo), heathered senorita pink, static black, solid black, and static coal wave stripe. I'm kind of bummed static coal isn't an option but static black sounds promising as does a solid black. Since the Inspire is coming out so soon, I think I will wait to cut the tags off my Effortless Hoodie.

New Tank - Awareness Tank & Sage Twist Pant

This picture just popped on Facebook with no information. I can't tell from the photos whether it is one tank or two. The top one looks like some sort of loose, blousy shaped halter tank. The bottom has a back similar to the Salutation but the straps look a little too wide and the fabric looks like it's luxtreme. As soon as I find more information I will update this post.

A reader says this is the Awareness Tank. It's one piece with an inner layer of fitted circle mesh and outer luxtreme layer.

Hmmm, I am going to have to try this on. I like the thick straps, they look the same as those used in the Push UR Limits. The straps have a fat piece of super strong elastic inside and are very supportive. The outer layer is a bit baggy looking and not flattering but sometimes those tops are so comfortable on because nothing is hugging your middle and you have all that lovely air cooling your belly. I bet it would look much better in a solid black. I'd like to see if modeled by a few more people but the top dips too low in the front and the thin straps and fat straps don't really "go" together well. The elastic back is not quite right either. Because this is a double layer tank, I bet the price is over $60.

The Sage Twist Pant

There is also a new pant out. I'll update the post when I find out what these are. The waistband is very cute. This is the Sage Twist Pant. It is made of luon and is a medium rise, slim-fitting straight leg pant. The waistband is attached at the side of the pant so you can wear it in the front or in the back. It also comes in River Rock / Oasis / Gray.

Request for Lululemon - Can you put the new Mesh Headwraps on the US Side of the Website?

Dear Lululemon,

Can you please upload the newest Mesh Headwraps to the US side of website? I want to get at least three of the colors - Lolo, Citron, and Oasis - so that is almost like me buying a CRB. The Senorita Headwrap you uploaded last week sold out in a few days so there is a very hungry market for headwraps.
