Run: With It Jacket - Pretty Fug

Would this jacket look any better if there was a long sleeve run swiftly or the Sun Blocker underneath it? Would it look better in a solid? Why did they put those blousy sleeves on it? How fast is the Seek The Peak jacket and this jacket going to make it into Loot?

As a contrast in functional simplicity, the Stride Vest was available in Loot earlier this week. I hate the color combination (space dye - blech), but I would have loved one in a solid colored neutral like black or coal:

Neoprene Classy Classic Gym Bag
The neoprene is cool looking but in my experience neoprene gets dirty fairly easily and is not that easy to wash off. The beauty of vinyl is that you can wipe it clean.

There's just something missing when you look at her wearing it.
Looks like an adult in a little kids jacket? Something silly about it.
The stride vest was in US loot?
They added that one to the canadian site yesterday, but in regular price of course.

that jacket is extremely ugly!!!!!!! i missed the stride vest in loot. darn. but i would agree that it would really be a killer vest in black.

I saw that jacket on the FB fan page and thought it looked cute, but it looks terrible on that girl!! It doesn't help that she is wearing it like she was dressed in the dark again.

@Marci - Did you see photos of it on another person? It looks really short on this girl but maybe she is really tall. The got-dressed-in-the-dark look just kills me. It does nothing to help sell the clothes.

I think the Stride Vest was in Canadian loot but it was there very briefly.

I tried on that short sleeve jacket in the store and it is just not very flattering on. It is pretty short - it hit me at the high hip (and I'm only 5'3") - definitely shorter than I like in a jacket. It is super boxy and has a weird flap that sort of sticks out a bit on the back. And the little cap sleeves have elastic or something around them, but still fit loose - they would really rub the underside of your arms if you tried to wear the thing running. Not functional at all. I tried it on in solid black - it was less ugly than the plaid, but still not cute. Very disappointing.

@ luluaddict -The pic I saw was not on a person, it looked boxy, but now that I look at it on... yuck! I wish I had seen the stride vest in loot, I kinda of like it, but I won't pay full price for last year's stock.

that pink stride vest is on the cdn site, but regular price - $78. that hideously ugly run: with it vest is the exact same price though... ridiculous!! let's see how long it takes for all these awful designs to hit loot...

@luluaddict -- to answer your questions -- no -- nothing will help that jacket -- whats up with the back and the lift up design -- like when i'm running --i'm going to stop and peel it up and secure it when i get hot -- DUH!!!! --poor design --poor color choice -- YUCK --there has been some doozies lately -- this might take the cake!

I can't believe how ugly the run with it jacket is. That is a definite low point for the designers. Just when you think that Lulu can't design anything worse that some stuff that has been out for the past 6 months

I like the jacket, I don't know why you assume that everything you dislike is going to make it to loot. Lots of people on FB are raving about it, but I guess your opinions differ from theirs!? It does come in solid colours too...so far, black and angel blue.

Wow @anon -- don't be so negative -- we are just expressing our opinion as well -- i think some of us wouldn't touch it in LOOT either --i know i wouldn't!

Anon, with all due respect, I don't see anybody raving about this top on FB although some people might confuse it with the Sneak the Peak. The people on FB tend to get over excited over new stuff and sometimes I try not to be suckered into buying something that the FB fans like. Anyway, Lulu makes stuff for everyone, so not everybody will like everything that Lulu makes. But I must say that LuluAddict thoughts mimics what most women are thinking about.

really?....her thoughts mimic what most women think about, frankly, that disturbs me....apparently you did not read her comments on another blog.
And I was not being "negative" I was expressing my opinion too.
It is OK for momof5 to say she wouldn't touch it in loot, and OK for pilatesmom to say it is ugly....but not OK for me to say I like it and don't assume it will make it to loot just b/c you don't like it? Having an opinion different than yours does not make me "negative"!

I am new to reading this blog but I don't quite understand how Anonymous's comments could be taken as negative. You all seem to be basing your "negative" comments on a few pictures of one girl in this jacket Have any of you seen it? Have any of you tried it on?
The comments I have read here were: "silly", "ugly" and "hideously ugly", "yuck" and looks terrible on that girl. So, whose comments are really negative?
I don't like the jacket either, but how can you mistake a difference of opinion as being negative? And how can 6 people who comment on this blog assume that their opinions are the concensus of most women? I have read good comments about this jacket too and some of those are from people who tried it on and bought it.
So, I would say good to bad comments are currently tied.

I can usually tell from a photo or the product alert rendering whether I will like something when I try it on- if it immediately strikes my fancy, I usually love it. The latest example is the Run: Zoom Singlet. An exception is the Principle Jacket which I didn't like because it was too short and all the photos modeling it were with it zipped up and it looks much better hanging open. I ended up changing my mind and getting one after I tried it on. I tend to like tailored, streamlined jackets for the most part so the blousy Run: With It doesn't appeal to me for that reason. I'm also hippy so a short, blousy jacket is going to chunk me out even more. Add to it the fact that I am not a fan of hoods on vests unless you can store them away as more reasons I don't like it. As for the Seek the Peak jacket, it wouldn't be a bad jacket if the outer sleeves were a little longer. But then again it's a rather busy jacket with functionality I can't see the necessirt of - tie up sleeves - when I'd much rather have a zippered back pocket for my iPhone with a cord tunnel.

I just don't see how that jacket is functional for running at all.

Glad some people like it though!

I think we have a lulu employee weighing in!! geesh -- everyone calm down -- what we love about this site is the ability to bounce thoughts off one another -- and be sad if designs aren't quite up to expectations -- of course everyone isnt going to agree on everything -- that being said -- still hate it!!!

I did try the jacket on (in solid black as I noted in my earlier post) and it was based on trying it on that I gave it a negative review. I think it could look cute on the right person (and maybe layered over a long sleeve top) - but in my view it just isn't a particularly functional piece for running, which is what Lulu designed it to be for. And it definitely was not flattering on me, and my body is quite different than that of the girl in the photo.

I posted my comment so that other runners (who might not have access to a store to try it on) might benefit from my observations/critique of it. If other people think it's cute and feel that it would be functional for them, more power to them. If we all loved the same Lulu pieces, it would be even harder than it already is to get the items I do like. :)

I don't always agree with Luluaddict, but I take her feedback into account- that's why I read this blod. I don't have a store near me and do all my shopping online. I need honest feedback, not cheerleading.

When our opinion differs, I don't take it personally. After all, it's her blog.

I think companies would love to have such direct feedback from a member of their core demographic.

Elim, are you posting again?
