Cocoon Wrap in Real Life (Sounds like a pain in the ass to wear)

From a review on the LLL FB site: It runs very large - she normally wears and 8 and bought a 4. You need to be in front of a mirror to arrange it. It's a bit fussy to wear.

It's cute but exposes her crotch - just like the Pulse Wrap and the Sport Cardi.  It looks large in the armpits

Lululemon Year In Review - Running is a Winner But Would Like More Choice in Tanks

Run: Spirit Pullover

Run: Hills Pullover

Run: Energy Pullover

Run: Empower Crop
I was looking back through my posts for the year trying to pick my favorite pieces that were released this year. Granted, I didn't try everything on, but I probably tried a majority of things, especially anything technical and made to sweat in. I would probably nominate as my top pick for function and prettiness the Run: Spirit Pullover. My second place picks would be the Run: Hills Pullover and the Run: Energy Pullover. For best bottom in terms of sweating, I'd have to pick the Empower Crop. Lululemon's Run design team has been knocking them out of the park this year.

Of the non-Run new tank designs I liked best, I'd have to choose the Tri Y and the Conditioning Tank. These are the two I would like to see re-released next summer. Of course, the Athletic Deep V and Cool Racerbacks are perenniel favorites and dominate my personal collection. The Tri Y is a great alternative to the Power Y for bustier ladies and is wonderful for hot workouts like spin. The Conditioning Tank is low support so I layer it with a Flow Y but I love the circle mesh back.

Conditioning Tank - Lullure Front with Circle Mesh Back

Tri Y Tank - More Supportive Than Power Y With Mesh Panel Down the Back

I bought quite a few jackets this year. I replaced my Shape with the new longer Gather Together. The GT and the Stride are fabulous new designs. The new Define jacket is a tweaking of the Shape jacket and a great choice for a shorter, fitted jacket.

Define Jacket

Wishes for the coming year -come up with another iconic Lululemon tank design that flatters most every shape, like the Scoop Neck Tank and the Deep V. Design prettier run tanks than the fugly Persistance, Sunrise, Inspire, and Skim Singlet. Give the space dye and pirate stripe prints a rest - I'd like to see more pretty florals and cute prints. Come up with a supportive bra for busty ladies that will fit under a Cool Racerback without showing any straps.

Try On Report: Intention Tank + More

Intention Tank
We took a family trip up to LA yesterday so I was able to visit the Santa Monica and Beverly Hills store. Both had lots of racks of markdowns and tons of the new run product. The Santa Monica store had lots of older run products from November - the Run: Sport Henley long sleeves in lot of colors and a couple of Run: Hills Pullovers in black. I ended up getting a Run: Hills Pullover in black. I'm going to have to put the Santa Monica store on my regular rounds. They had lots of good markdowns and an extensive selection.

I tried on the new Intention Tank. It definitely is not made for bustier women. My boobs overflowed the top and had a terrible double boob look because the top cut into me so much. I don't think I have ever had this problem in a Lululemon tank before.  The top part is just cut too short and shallow. I'd quantify the support as low, very low, not moderate as given in the description. The body is made of luon light which is great in the looser fitting Cool Racerback but feels odd in a more fitted tank. I guess I am used to regular luon which has a more supportive feel on your core area. All in all, I'd call this new tank an Epic Fail. You can get a very similar look and light feel by buying a Cool Racerback.

Intention Tank Features:
  • Set your intention for the day in this body skimming, moderate support yoga tank
  • Made with luon on bust for max support and a luon light on the body for breathability
  • Mesh back allows for max breathability in high sweat areas
  • Scooped out front and back for optimum ventilation during class
  • Mesh bra construction with built in pockets for removable cups
  • $52

Cool Racerback in Black Embossed Manifesto Print
I saw the cute new Coal Embossed Manifesto Cool Racerback. I was so tempted to get one but I already have the black version.

I see the All Sport bra is now on the US website. My half-marathoner sister recently bought this bra and loves it. It reminds me a lot of my older Cool Swift Bra.

Here I Am Pant
I want to try the Here I Am pant on.  They are made of luon light.  I wonder if you can cut off the bottoms to get rid of the cuff.

There is a potentially cute new print hinted at in the newest website upload:

Black Splatter Stripe Print in Run: Tracker Shorts
The Black Splatter Stripe print might be fun. It reminds me of this top from last year:

All in all, except for the fabulously comfortable and flattering Run: Energy Pullover, I'm not loving any of the newest releases.

Loving My New Run: Energy Pullover

My new black Run: Energy Pullover arrived today. I am totally loving it. I am glad I got the black. For once, Lululemon didn't add any neon or crazy prints to a running top so it doesn't scream athletic wear.  I also love that there are no horizontal stripes across the boobs like in the Hills pullover. I really like the front zippers in the Hills and Energy pullovers. Just the thing to help cool me off once I start sweating. I just love running luon, it's so soft yet lightweight and warm. The fit is pretty similar to the Hills pullovers, maybe a little looser in the upper chest and shoulders. I really can't tell since fit seems to depend on the color. For instance, the white Energy I tried on this weekend seemed a bit looser than the black that arrived today. And the Fruity Tootie Hills Pullover ran a lot bigger than the Pow Pink I tried on weeks ago. However, running luon really seems to loosen up with wear. I hope Lululemon comes out with lots of longsleeve tops in this fabric. I would love to see more pullovers in solids and neutral colors like coal and silver. I wouldn't mind some more mellow pastel colors like crystal pink, too. I'm hoping there will be one more release of running pullovers. According to my picture files the first bunch of Hills pullovers came out around early February so hopefully there'll be some one more shipment. I hope this isn't it. These tops are almost sold out on the website.

Product Features:
  • High performance pullover for chilly morning runs
  • Super soft running luon with inherent wicking
  • Body-mapped anti-stink mesh for ventilation
  • Cuffins for cold fingers
  • Secure zip pocket for cards, keys & sport snacks
  • Flat seamed for chafe resistance & comfort
  • $99

New Jacket - Cocoon Wrap

Cocoon Wrap
My product alerts had this new jacket. the Cocoon Wrap in Classic Sport Gray with Faded Zap. I hope the Faded Zap is in a place where you don't see it.  It looks kind of cute but I'm not a big fan of the less structured drape-y type jackets for myself. I'll let you know if I spot it in the stores and try it on.

Cocoon Jacket Features:
  • he search is over. This is the ultimate wrap for savasana, to & from the gym or studio - and definitely out on the town!
  • Our own blend of cotton french terry is oh so comfy & breathable
  • Loose fit can be worn over virtually any top, and ensure to pair with tights for just the right look
  • Wear collar closed or let it hang open for a different look
  • Chafe resistant flat seams for comfort
  • Preshrunk so there are no surprises when you wash me!
  • Sizes 4-12
  • $118

Bold Blue Run: Enery Pullover in Real Life

Photo of a size 4 educator in the Bold Blue Run: Energy Pullover paired with Gather and Crow Crops. Even though it seems this top was designed to accommodate bustier ladies, it looks nice on this educator.

Run: Energy Pullover Hang Tag Details

I went to another Lululemon store today. This store had a ton of running stuff marked down but I ended up going home with my third pair of tall Boogie On shorts (I'm afraid they won't be made again) and a Flow Y IV in neon pink.  I was able to compare the Run: Energy Pullover to the Run: Hills Pullover side by side. I tried on the white Energy vs. the fruity tootie Hills. Based on my holding up the hangers against each other, I believe the Energy is about an 1" shorter than the Hills. The mesh body mapping is not the same. The Energy has mesh panels along the sides and on the underside of the arm. The Hills continues the body mapping up to the neckline in both the front and back. The Energy's collar is big enough to fold over to look more like a polo.  The Energy is definitely looser between the shoulders and top of the breasts at the armpit, the rest of the top fit the same as the Hills- snug all over.

Run: Energy Pullover Hang Tag Details:
- High Performance pullover for chilly morning runs
- Super soft running luon with inherent wicking
- Body-mapping anti-stink mesh for ventilation
- Cuffins for cold fingers
- Secure zip pocket for cards, keys, and sports snacks
- Flat seamed for chafe free resistance and comfort.
- $99

Try On Reviews: Run: Energy Pullover, Run: Team Spirit Crop, Run: Sunrise Tank, Run: Brisk Run LS + Comments

Run: Energy Pullover
I went to my two local Lululemon stores looking for bargains this morning but it was largely a bust.  For a change, the on-line loot selection was much better than what I found in the stores. The gym bag I ordered yesterday, the Get Set Go Duffle in the sublimation print, was still full price at $78 at one store, all other colors were the loot price of $44. I ended up getting an Ivory Cool Racerback for $29 which is $5 cheaper than what they are on line. However, the morning wasn't a total loss, I got to see and try on some of the new Run stuff.

I tried on the Run: Energy Pullover. It is definitely made of running luon with circle mesh down the sides and underside of the arm. It felt a tiny bit looser through the upper chest, shoulders, and upper arms than the Run: Hills Pullovers that I have tried on in the store. Those are usually super snug on me when brand new although they loosen up with wear. The front zipper does go a bit lower and the mesh pocket in the back seems a bit flimsier on the inside than the Hills Pullover.  However, I prefer the mid back placement of the pocket. The length seemed very similar to the Hills.  There are slight gathers in the upper chest but I don't think they detract from the looks of the top.  I would imagine they are there to ease movement in that area when swinging your arms. I have one coming in the mail so I should be able to compare it with the Hills side by side in a few days. However, from what I've seen I believe the black Energy pullover is going to be a keeper for me. I'd be interested in getting your opinions if you buy one.

Run: Team Spirit Crop
I tried on the Run: Team Spirit Crops. They didn't have my size but I squeezed myself into the next size down. It doesn't show up in the photos but the seams that run down the backside of the leg is gathered from about the knee upward. It looks really weird on the hanger. I didn't care for how they looked on but I was in a smaller size than normal so it wasn't a fair test. I think if I had a choice I would choose Empower Crops over these. The Team Spirits are all luxtreme, no circle mesh panels at all.

Team Spirit Product Info:
A knee length running crop to support your muscles and reduce bounce
Made of power luxtreme with inherent wicking
Low rise fit with smooth wide waistband
Continuous drawcord that won't come out in the wash
Gusset to prevent chaffing or riding up
Secure pocket for cards, keys & sport snacks
Flat seamed for chafe resistance & comfort

Run: Brisk LS
I tried on the Run: Brisk LS. These have been gone from the website for awhile but are just hitting the stores now. I liked it, but I prefer to have a zipper to adjust cooling as needed. Also, there is no zipper pocket just a little ipod pocket big enough to hold the 3G nano (the square one) but there is no cord tunnel. There are mesh panels down the sides but not down the underside of the arms like in the Hills and Energy Pullovers.  The Faded Zap is really bright and is slightly greenish like in the photo above.

Brisk LS Product Features:
  • The perfect layering tech top to kick off your spring running season!
  • Made of super soft running luon with inherent wicking
  • Anti-stink mesh panels for breathability
  • Adjustable neckline
  • Thumbholes keep your sleeves down and hands warm!
  • Pocket for your cards, keys & sport snacks
  • Flat seamed for chafe resistance & comfort
  • $78

Run: Sunrise Tank
I tried on the Run: Sunrise Tank. I am glad I didn't order one when they first popped up on the website. I think it looks best in the solid colors - the stripes are blah and end right in the middle of my boobs. It's cut pretty full. Maybe I'd like it better if it came in some solid pinks but for right now, when I want a lightweight running top I'll stick to my Circuit Tech tank from last summer.

Circuit Tech Tank from Last Summer

Run: Sunrise Tank Features:

  • Body skimming tank designed to wear over your full support bra
  • Luxtreme across bust for extra support
  • Lightweight and wicking circle mesh with anti-stink finish
  • Body skimming fit with extra length
  • Cinchable drawcord for a customized fit
  • Flat seamed for chafe resistance & comfort
  • $58 (I don't understand why the price is so high)

Wunder Under Crops in Static Charcoal Luon

Not All Luon Is Created The Same I blogged earlier that I ordered a pair of the Still pants in the new Static Charcoal (STCH) luon. Static charcoal luon is softer, thinner, and has a sheen compared to regular black luon - it is just fabulous looking. A few bottoms besides the Still pant also come in STCH, including Wunder Under Crops. I tried these on today and found out that the STCH luon is not nearly as stretchy as regular luon. If you are thinking of getting the Gather & Crow, Groove Crop, or Wunder Unders in this color, be aware that you may not be able to do a split when wearing these pants. It may never come up but I know in the Bar Method Class I took we were doing some maneuvers that came close to a full on split.

Tracker Pant
Oh yes, I saw the Tracker Pant and felt the Trackstar material. It's very thick and polyestery feeling and looking (i.e., shiny). I didn't try them on but the material feels like it would be hot. I don't care for the looks of them but if you want a retro track suit look, these are a good bet for you.

Tracker Pant Features:

  • A lower rise, straight leg track pant with good times written all over it. Love this one to take you to the gym.
  • Our trackstar fabric is wicking, breathable and has stretch for ease of movement
  • Chafe resistant flat seams for comfort
  • Preshrunk so the look of this garment will stay as intended!
  • $88

More Loot and New Running Stuff To Be Uploaded Tomorrow

Ready Set Go Duffel - In Loot for $44

According to a post on Facebook there is going to be more Loot uploaded tomorrow (!) and new Run stuff available. I think I have a pretty good idea what new stuff is going to show up based on my various product alert emails -I posted pictures of some of what we'll see previously. From what I've seen so far, the only thing I am really interested in is the Team Spirit Crop. I hope it is all uploaded early like it was today, I plan to be at the stores first thing tomorrow to check out their markdown racks. Today I bought another pair of Feel Good Pants - I love my Static pair - and the Ready Set Go Duffel shown above.

Ready Set Go Duffel Features:

Merry Christmas!!! Loot is Up Early!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!! I hope you all found Lululemon Gift Certificates under your tree. I got two - yay!  Lululemon uploaded their Loot section early. I restrained myself and only bought a pair of black Feel Good pants. I got them to wear around the house - they will save wear and tear on my luon pants.  The stores will probably have them a bit cheaper - I've seen the hideous teal green and purple ones for $49 - but who knows if they'll have my size. I was debating about getting another pair of Passion Crops but I want to try the new Team Spirit knee length crops or Empower crops so I'll sit on my remaining gift card for today. The Canadian side seems to have a bit more loot but I guess it was dependent on what didn't sell.

Tang Light, Lagoon, and More of Last Night's Uploads

Tang Light Flow Y

Lagoon Flow Y

Some new color Flow Ys have been uploaded to the US site. I am liking the new Tang Light color. A lot.  It looks a little paler than last year's Persimmon. I anticipate yet another Cool Racerback or Deep V in my future. Lagoon is very pretty, too. Very similar to the teals and aquas from last spring (especially Caribe). I wonder if they are the reusing any of the same colors. I know last fall's Hydrangea was renamed to Raspberry.

New Cool Racerbacks in Senorita Pink and Bold Blue

Stride Jacket in Black

Apres Yoga Jacket

Tracker Pant in Bold Blue (The black ones are solid)
Made of the new Trackstar fabric. I saw this fabric on the Tracker Jacket in the store the other day. It looked a lot like Power Luxtreme but I didn't feel the fabric.

Leader of the Track Jacekt

Sunrise Tank in Faded Zap (should have left this one solid)

There were probably a few other new things uploaded but these are the obvious ones. They also uploaded black Ta Ta Tamers in size E.

Run: Energy Pullover - Nice Update to Hills Pullover!

Run: Energy Pullover

Lululemon just uploaded a few new things late tonight. This new pullover was one of them - the Run: Energy Pullover.  It looks like a nice tweaking of the Run: Hills Pullover design - they did away with the stripes across the boobs and turned the back pocket vertical. It also looks like the collar comes up a bit higher than the Hills Pullover and the front zipper a bit lower.  It has both thumbholes and cuffins.  It also looks slightly shorter than the Hills Pullover.  Although they haven't posted details it's supposed to be made of running luon.  It also comes in a couple of sedate colors - bold blue and solid black. I ordered one in black.

Reusable Messenger Bag With Online Order

I just got my online orders today and it came with a reusable messenger bag shopping tote. It's a cute idea.

I love my new Static Wear With All. I don't know why I didn't expect it, but it's made from the same material as my Static Feel Good Pants - duh.

I also LOVE my new Static Charcoal Still pants. I am hoping  they come out with a version in my favorite crops, the Boogie Crops. There is a Groove crop in them on line. I'll have to try them on, though. The material is a little thinner than the normal luon. It is also softer and has a bit of a sheen. It almost looks like black denim. It's definitely a slightly "dressier" look than normal workout pants.
